  1. Absolute moron. I detest people who do things like this. If I could get my hands on him he might have even worse nightmares! Anyway it sounds like Dreamworld did absolutely nothing wrong in this case, so the lawsuit will just be a waste of his time. I do feel for Ardent though. The negative publicity from this is the last thing they needed.
  2. "Grill" to me suggests grilled chicken, steaks, and fish. Not in burgers but on plates with grilled vegetables or salad. Patisserie suggests a much more prominent and wider range of FRESH pastries, croissants and the like.
  3. Arkham Asylum is 100% Joker themed. It's the Joker who places the hallucinogenic gas mask on you, and it's the Joker who drags you off the roof of the asylum. Batman makes a brief appearances at the end, but otherwise it's only the joker who appears in it.
  4. Thanks for the thought. I have read it. As I said I will most likely give it a shot. Who knows, maybe once I have tried it I'll want to go on it again and again! It's just that I'm not really a huge fan of thrill rides.
  5. That's why I usually leave the park and go somewhere else for lunch. Same goes for every park though, not just Dreamworld. Big money-making opportunity!!! Just charge less and make more! Having said that, I don't mind paying what the food is actually worth in terms of comparable food outside the parks.
  6. Ok thanks. I might try them next time I'm there, but only might as I fear the pancakes are probably not even freshly made. Still, I'll see!
  7. Checked it out yesterday. It's a pleasant place for a snack or meal in my opinion, but a bit too quiet. Only 1 other table than ours was in use at the time. Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be packed, but the majority of the tables should be in use really at the time we were there. I can't recall exactly what time it was but it was lunchtime. Anyway I was anticipating it would be a patisserie and grill for some reason, perhaps because of the signs saying "The Park Patisserie and grill". However it turns out it's just another burger joint that also has a small selection of cakes in the corner (not shown on the menu), and I found out later from this site that they also offer a very odd combination of pancakes with bacon (yes seriously, bacon!), at certain times. That wasn't on the menu either, but we were there outside those times. I wouldn't have wanted pancakes with bacon anyway! Does anyone here know if they also offer pancakes with Maple Syrup? A nice enough looking cafe, but they really should have put more effort into both the menu and marketing of it. Both can be fixed fairly easily, so here's hoping!
  8. I don't ride Green Lantern very often, but I have ridden it numerous times and I don't recall ever hearing any audio. To be honest I didn't know there was any. Potentially I'd ride more often if I the audio were more consistent.
  9. That's what I thought it said in the Gold Coast Bulletin the other day. It'd be very odd if they went to the USA and didn't visit theme parks!
  10. Given that execs from Ardent have recently visited US theme parks, and also considering the statements they've made about moving away from thrill rides to experiences that stay with you, and quality over quantity (and assuming that isn't all entirely spin) I am quite optimistic that they may indeed have great things in mind for the future of Dreamworld. Time will tell.
  11. Agreed, except that in Dreamworlds case I do think they have enough land to do both.
  12. I am aware of that one. Not a fan if it's as high-rise as it looks in that image, but yes it may happen. However I still think it's worth Ardent exploring whether having a Dreamworld resort is viable.
  13. Other than the excess land being used for the most obvious, and perhaps easiest (but in my opinion the most boring) option of residential development, here are my thoughts on an alternative use that could actually complement Dreamworld. This assumes Ardent retain ownership of at least some of it. A holiday resort with direct access into the theme park. Accommodation could consist of either one or more hotels, freestanding chalets, or a combination of both. They could go down the path of cheaper things such as ecotents, but personally I don't think those would suit the type of vibe I have in mind, or enhance the value of the park. The resort would also contain things like swimming pools, or perhaps it might be possible to link it directly to Whitewater World, which could remain open exclusively to resort guests in the evenings after Dreamworld closes. Before implementing this they should obviously look closely at what can be learned from Sea World and its resort (both positive and negative). Also the resort could include entertainment, leisure, and dining options which might also be open to non-residential guests. A day spa would be another major attraction. An area within the resort could be set aside as a nighttime fairground, with some of the current "spin & spew" rides from the theme park moved into there to make way for bigger and better attractions. This would be a sort of "special night time mini-Dreamworld" exclusively for resort guests to enjoy. Dreamworld could also explore whether part of the land could become a Legoland Discovery Centre. If desired or necessary they could sell that part of the land to Merlin (who operate the one in Chadstone, Melbourne) so as to avid any potential licensing issues. This would tie in nicely with the Lego store at the front of Dreamworld. Another use that may be worth considering for part of the land is a planetarium which provides both educational services to schools and tertiary institutions, and also fun information sessions for the general public. As well as the above, a portion of the land could be sold to a residential developer, with conditions attached such as no high rise developments (so as to preserve the atmosphere within Dreamworld). This would help to pay for the development of the above, as well as future development / expansion within Dreamworld itself. Done right, all the above could ultimately put Dreamworld in a much better position than it is today.
  14. According to the Brisbane Times, only just over half of the land Ardent owns at Coomera is actually occupied by the theme park. That being the case, if I owned that land, knowing its huge and increasing value (even ignoring the current business issues due to the tragedy) I would certainly be looking at what better use the rest of the land (not occupied by the theme park) could be put to. I cautiously hope that money made from sale / development of the remaining land would be used to improve Dreamworld. I would also hope that at least a portion of the excess land would be retained as part of the theme park, and some of the money used to expand the park into that extra space.
  15. I mean I don't think I'll find it enjoyable to ride. Thrilling definitely, but not enjoyable for me.
  16. I must admit that's what I thought when I saw it this morning. I will probably give it a try when it opens, but I doubt it'll be a regular one for me. Doesn't look much fun.
  17. But "Wet" begins with "W". So does "Wonder", and so does "Woman"! Coincidence?
  18. If it's really so pointless looking in the park, why am I seeing this planted smack bang in the middle of Wild West Falls?
  19. This time each day Catwoman usually gets into a skirmish on Main Street. But there's been a bit of a change to the show!
  20. Movie World Main Street clock not working now. It's actually 2.15pm.
  21. Do you ever consider that perhaps I'm an intelligent person with a wealth of knowledge on most matters I comment on.
  22. Just discovered the performance platform at the front of Main Street in Movie World has been fenced off. Might be nothing major but interesting still. Also following the external refurbishment of the Warner Bros. Department Store, various other buildings along Main Street are getting facade refurbishments. No major changes that I've seen yet. Just refresh and maintenance.
