  1. It's that level of detail that make such attractions so awesome, and that in turn adds to the value of the parks they're located in. Grand vision can create amazing futures. Imagine if Walt Disney was limited by what he could afford!
  2. I never take notice of anything written in all capital letters.
  3. Actually I would prefer Harry Potter, but when I've suggested a Harry Potter theme previously others have said Movie World couldn't get the license.
  4. I would agree if it were only in the current state for a few weeks while they rethemed it, but a whole year is ridiculous.
  5. I'm very surprised they would even try to reopen Eureka. Time will tell whether that turns out to be worthwhile. From what I've read about it Eureka would be far better demolished. I'd love to see something like Soarin', and that could certainly fit all the criteria outlined in this memo.
  6. So a whole year without any theme! Surely that wasn't really necessary. At least now we know when it will be back. Personally I'm hoping it will still be Scooby themed as I don't know of a more suitable theme for it. Hopefully as good as or ideally better than it used to be.
  7. That merchandise is almost certainly what that notice I referred to a couple of weeks ago was about. The notice I saw was in that shop, right where the new Wonder Woman merchandise is now displayed, and it said something along the lines of "not for release until 1st May 2017", and the merchandise shown in the above photo appeared very shortly after 1st May. As the notice was in the shop I naturally thought it was about merchandise, and it had a clear picture of Wonder Woman on it so I knew it was about Wonder Woman merchandise. I googled "Wonder Woman movie" and found this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman_(2017_film) The article says the movie has links to both Warner Brothers, and DC. That is why I said I predicted the Hyper-coaster will be Wonder Woman themed. I still think that's a strong possibility, but I thought they might announce the ride on or soon after 1st May. Like most here, I don't understand why they still haven't. Looks like the movie itself will be released 2nd June, so if it is indeed Wonder Woman themed, perhaps that's when the ride will be announced.
  8. I actually pay about $3 each time I visit Movie World, not $35. I've always said I'd be happy to pay significantly more! We've gone off topic. Probably my fault! Some very good observations and ideas here though.
  9. I mostly agree with this, but Arkham Asylum actually has by far the best movie magic of any gold coast ride now with VR. If you haven't tried it yet, do asap! Far from "if you pay attention you'll get it". Actually more like if you pay $5 you'll get it!
  10. Even as little as a few years ago Hollywood Stunt Driver was very good, but the current show doesn't even involve any stunts, and the explosion no longer makes any sense! I'm all for changing things to keep them relevant. However some things unfortunately just aren't as good as what was there before.
  11. Wow! Thanks Rac2703. With that plus the Police Academy Stunt show, Gremlins ride, Looney Tunes River Ride, and the studio tours I really wish I'd lived in Queensland back then. Don't get me wrong Movie World is still very good, but I hate to see an awesome, fantastic park become a very good park! Dodgems and an amusement arcade instead of an adventure as a police cadet in Gotham City Library? No contest!
  12. I know I definitely went on (or in) Young Einstein the first time I ever went to Movie World. I can't remember anything about it except the name though! Can someone describe what it was please, and also where in the park it was.
  13. The water heating at WWW will be something I welcome this time of year. Even in the Gold Coast it's not ALWAYS hot weather! In fact, this may well persuade me to go to WWW more often than Wet & Wild in the winter #firstworldproblems!
  14. It's not on a ride, but it's become a very important part of Movie World and it ain't working at the moment!
  15. I don't hate you Gazza. I just have a different opinion than you about something that's not even important!
  16. Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. If the parks managers read it then it could actually be useful to them as well. On Wild West Falls at Movie World I've noticed numerous issues, including: - Wheel at end of ride as you approach the station is supposed to have water flowing onto it, causing it to turn, but this hasn't worked since the supposed themeing upgrade several months ago. - The guy that appear on the screen as you go up the slope in the second mine shaft often repeats a short part of the message over and over. - The sign in the tent village area that shows the population often has the reduced population showing constantly, and even when it does go up and down, it no longer fits properly in the "up" position. - The building where the balcony is supposed to collapse and then an invisible person falls into the water below, neither of these effects have worked since the supposed upgrade.
  17. What's the best rollercoaster that you've either been on, or at least know of? Can be anywhere in the world, and obviously "best" is a very subjective term, so everyone's entitled to their opinion! For me it's The Big One (sponsored by Pepsi at the time this video was made) at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England. What gives it the WOW factor is that it's so big that there wasn't room in the theme park for it, but as you'll see in this video, that certainly didn't stop them! I also like that there are no loops or excessive twists or inversions. It's just a nice ride with pretty impressive views out to sea and over Blackpool, but certainly high and fast, so still plenty of thrills. It's not new anymore, so there may well be better rollercoasters in the world, but this is my favourite. What's yours?
  18. Sideshow games at Movie world, in same building as rarely used burger bar. It's been a long time since I last saw these open, but they are today. Good to see some use being made of this building!
  19. Very interesting thank you. I'm not sure I ever saw Dreamworld as you described it, although maybe I did just once in 1989.
  20. I went once in 1988 as a kid, but I don't remember much about it, and it was within weeks of also visiting Disneyland California. Therefore some of what little I do remember might be mixed with those other memories. Could you elaborate on what made Dreamworld magical back in the day, in your opinion?
