  1. I quite like the idea of a science fiction section of the park. It could work with several attractions each based on a different Warner Brothers Sci-Fi movie. The photos below show a couple of areas which could accommodate two new attractions. Probably not enough space for rides, but certainly enough to add two very enjoyable new movie related experiences to replace two disused structures.

  3. I'm stunned that you think I'm a movie expert just because I enjoy visiting theme parks! Apparently I'm not "allowed" to add you to my ignored users list. Shame about that, but I'll just ignore you the old fashioned way! In future rather than waste your time hurling pointless insults at me, I suggest you likewise ignore my posts too!
  4. To be fair the population drop has worked the last few times I've been on. Only problem is the part of the population sign that drops isn't well aligned with the rest of the sign prior to dropping. It always used to be.
  5. Also the wheel at the end no longer spins as there is no water pouring onto it, and the part that used to be a balcony balustrade collapsing followed by an invisible ghost resident falling into a barrel below it is now a permanently collapsed balustrade with a pathetic little splash in the water inside the barrel. It's just disappointing, especially as it was better before it closed for supposed improvements.
  6. Given Wild West Falls was closed for a fair period last year during which they were supposedly improving the themeing, it's disappointing that overall it's less impressive now than it was prior to this. There are numerous elements either functioning poorly or not at all. This also got me thinking though, given Village studios were heavily involved in the making of last years "Pirates of the Carribean", and that's a family friendly well known and enduring movie Village would need no license for as they own it, wouldn't it be brilliant if the ride was reimagined into a Pirates of the Carribean adventure. It's already boat-based and I'm sure the mine and Indian village could be converted into scenes from the movie. Also the queue shed could be decorated with some actual set pieces and costumes from the movie. It could be a way to get a major "new" ride at relatively low cost.
  7. Add a gold train and that's perfect, but who the heck is Sinestro? Is he at least featured in an upcoming or recent movie? Either way, I've never heard of him until now!
  8. I may very well be wrong. Just saw a staff notice at the park last week. It was obviously not meant to be on display. When I looked again a couple of hours later it had magically vanished! We'll see.
  9. I think there may be a legal reason (to do with licensing) they can't make an announcement until 1st May.
  10. Interesting to hear your thoughts. I am just surprised about your reaction to Billabong v. Ricks. Last time I visited Billabong (November last year) it was awful with a small selection of terrible food, in a badly organised and poorly decorated room. Ricks, whilst hardly gourmet standard food, at least has a good selection of things most people will find ok, in a well laid out and pleasant cafe. Both Ricks and Billabong could use improvements though. I'm surprised you didn't think Tiger Island had enough seating. I was there a few days ago and it was the first time I'd actually sat down to watch the tiger presentation (there used to be no seating until recently). I thought there was more than enough seating. Perhaps you went on a day the park was busier than usual.
  11. Suicide Squad would be terrible. It's a family-oriented theme park, which is supposed to be about fun!
  12. As far as I'm concerned, replacing the monorail carriages is just part of maintaining the park. Granted it is expensive, but it's simply essential maintenance. I'd like to think it's been appropriately budgeted for (call me cynical, but I don't). I hope I'm wrong, but I fear sometime in the next few years, the monorail will go the same way Sea Worlds other transport rides went. I sincerely hope now. Now Thunder River Rapids is gone, Kevil Hill is my favourite attraction at Dreamworld by far. There really aren't many I enjoy apart from that.
  13. Personally I've never found it too hot inside the monorail.
  14. The scary thing is that the Broadbeach monorail was said to be nearing the end of its life (which I believe is probably right), yet the Sea World monorail was the first in Australia. It doesn't take a genius to work out that the Sea World monorail must be running on borrowed time! I get the argument that Village would want to see a return on investment, but sometimes there is an indirect return. They should invest in these things to ensure the long term future of Sea World. Much as they have by investing in new paths, toilet upgrades etc.
  15. I cannot understand why Sea World hasn't taken the Broadbeach monorail. They are one train short and they could have had this one very cheap! (Obviously that's assuming it's compatible)
  16. Redboost. Having felt the agony of leaving the Gold Coast at the end of my holidays, knowing I wouldn't be back for anything up to a year each time (until I finally moved here 2 years ago), I know the pain! Maybe you'll have to do what I did.
  17. I predict an announcement either on 1st May, or within a few days either side of that. I expect it to be themed to Wonder Woman. I have no certainty on this, but due to several things I saw at Movie World today, those are my predictions at this stage. Make of it what you will!
  18. Sorry Jack. I probably read your post a bit out of context. You're right.
  19. And the top "A" shaped part to connect those two supports is now being lifted into place. It's nearly as fast as when I build rollercoasters with Knex!
