  1. I've got to say I'm really impressed with the themeing around Doomsday destroyer. It's fun and interactive. Proper themeing, not just decorations! Is that how you spell themeing? One word I've always had trouble spelling!
  2. What's interesting is if you look carefully at Wild West Falls, you'll see "Rio Bravo" signs all over it! I assume the ride manufacturer put those on it, and perhaps intended for the ride to be called Rio Bravo.
  3. I'm at MW at the moment. Effects on Scooby better than I've ever seen them before. I won't spoil it by saying how. Department store closed "while they create more movie magic". I hope that is exactly what they will do! Fenced site is big. Could be the hotel location. Would make sense as guests wouldn't have to walk across the car park to move between the hotel and theme park. Exciting!
  4. This photo from The Theme Park Social Network on Facebook shows a large grassed area adjacent the carpark entry surrounded by construction fencing. Anyone know what's going in this area?
  5. Thanks Theme Park Ninja. Having seen the new forum terms and conditions, I'll cautiously try making the occasional post. Not interested in being constantly disrespected like I was before though, so I'll only post now and then. Glad a few people here appreciate me though!
  6. I'd say Sea World probably has the best range of food outlets of any of the Gold Coast parks, even without the central food court at the moment. There is Dockside as mentioned above, and also several restaurants in the resort, plus the front food court. Still room for improvement though, especially in terms of non-alcoholic and non-sugary drinks. I'm hoping this will be addressed in the new food court.
  7. Doomsday destroyer opens 18th September. Also, the hotel and the lakeside entertainment precinct are yet to be signed off but assuming they get signed off they will be located on the grassed area between the car park and Entertainment Road. Can't reveal my source so either believe me or don't. Just passing on something that may be of interest to some!
  8. Unfortunately, due to the immaturity and lack of discretion and respect a few members here have displayed, I am going to have to share less on this forum from now on. Richard. Your call if you want to do anything about that.
  9. The message was "We have no news to share, but we'll be sure to post something on Facebook if anything changes". So just a generic "No comment" really. In view of the fact I told them how important the monorail is to me, I believe that if there was any comment to keeping the monorail long term the reply would have included something like "Whilst we cannot reveal any details at the moment, we can assure you that a monorail will be at Sea World for many years to come". So I don't know anything for certain, but as I said reading between the lines of their inability to give any assurance, it sounds to me like at best they will just wait until it completely fails and then scrap it. At worst they might actually have a plan to remove the monorail but they are not able to give the details.
  10. One of the great things about monorails is they can go over or through other attractions, and take up hardly any ground except for the stations.
  11. I got a reply back from Sea World regarding the future of the monorail. Reading between the lines all I can say is make the most of it while you can.
  12. Yeah, I don't mind Motorcoaster either. At least it has something more to it than just being a roller-coaster.
  13. There has certainly been a few famous people there lately, so surely those are the perfect opportunities for this.
  14. Favourite = The Doctor Who experience in London, 2011. Worst = A "Trabant" flat ride in England which made me feel nauseous and have to spend the rest of the day in bed.
  15. I didn't know there were any. I shall have to look closer!
  16. I was at Movie World last weekend and the lights that were on the walls for White Christmas have been taken down. Just the lights on the roof are still up, but I don't see a problem with those myself.
  17. They could do it like Dreamworld does for the Motocoaster. Just a revolving door type of arrangement for storage of personal belongings.
  18. I agree completely and especially about the stupid charges for water!
  19. On a similar note, Wet and Wild and Whitewater world are literally painful to walk around when the weather is hot! Better shading and/or covering the pathways with something that stays cooler would help a great deal!
  20. Whilst I always enjoy my visits to any theme park, I usually notice little things which are annoying. So I think it would be a good idea to start this thread about those things which would cost relatively little for the parks to fix and doing so could make a significant difference to the guest experience. Here's a few to kick off: SEA WORLD: The main route through the park is obstructed by a low white gate. Just open it, or get rid of it! DREAMWORLD: Getting into the park usually takes much longer than it should because they only open one door! Open them all, or change the entrance so it's like the ones at the Village parks.
  21. Thanks rac2703. I can tell from the photos I would have enjoyed it so much more then than now. It was all the little mini theatres and preshows that made the rides special. It was that and the studio tours that made it feel like you were in a Movie World. Hope they can find some ways to put the magic back as they make changes over the next few years.
  22. Thanks OceanGirl. I can imagine how that would have worked now. Shame they ditched the pre-show though.
  23. I would have expected it to only take a couple of months at most.
