Seaworlds New Kids Area Announced
pushbutton replied to Cooper Olsen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Here's how Nickelodeon Land looks now. Dockside Tavern now has a much bigger balcony facing Nickelodeon Land, and the carousel appears to have been repainted. From what I can see of it from here, there's only a few finishing touches needed. This one shows the extended balcony on Dockside Tavern. -
Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion

Obviously a lot of work to be done, but it does appear that they are actually doing it at last! -
I just block people who are like that. I've got better things to do than waste time looking at their pathetic drivel. I've found this forum a more pleasant place since I did that. Watch out though. No doubt someone will find fault with this message too!

Gold Coast almost got Disneyland.

It would be in Sydney or Perth if they did, probably Sydney for the population. Gold Coast already has its fair share of theme parks and I doubt Disney would want to enter such an already well-served market. -

Wasn't there a rumor about 10yrs ago that Disney wanted to buy Dreamworld? -
Fair enough, but it does have the cinemas, and both Thunder River Rapids and the log flume are good ways to cool off. I also love the various types of novelty fountains and the fans which mix cool water with the air.

Surely Dreamworld has enough roller coasters. I'd like to see them move the investment focus towards dark rides, and exciting fun interactive walk through experiences. Things that would make Dreamworld live up to its name, by making you feel like you are in a dream!

Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space

You may be right, but Bermuda Triangle was the 2nd best dark ride I have ever been on. I feel sad when I go on Storm, as I can't help but remember what was there. -

Fair points (and not rude at all by the way)! I just selfishly want more immersive rides and experiences. I am merely stating my own very selfish wants. Admittedly they do have to focus investment where they see the most ROI potential. I get that. Now give me more dark rides dammit! -

They don't need to compete with themselves though! -

Nah. Plenty of thrills in the Gold Coast already, and nowhere near enough immersive adventures! -

Even if you're on the dole, you can still easily afford $9 a month. -

Absolutely NOT! If you think $9 / month is too expensive, you don't appreciate theme parks and shouldn't bother going to them. -

I disagree. There's plenty of thrills down the road at Movie World or Dreamworld. -

I still say something like this would be an incredibly good fit for Sea World. It's not a dark ride, per-se, and thus doesn't need a large new structure (just maybe a small shed and a few "scenary" structures). But it's at least equal to a dark ride in my opinion, in that it provides a truly immersive adventure experience. Sea World already has the waterways for the boat to operate on, and the animatronic sharks would be a perfect tie-in with Creatures of the Deep. The ex- Sea Viper land could be used for the building, background scenary structures, and exit shop. It would be fairly inexpensive to build, and suitable for the guests of all ages (except for very young kids who could find it too scary, but there will be plenty for them with the new kids area). Perfect, surely.
