  1. I'm wondering if it could effectively be a potential new venue for the 'Wild' area that was supposed to be built at Sea World several years ago, but wasn't.
  2. When smoking was first banned in shopping centres there were signs all over most centres saying so. I rarely see them now, because everyone knows you can't smoke in a shopping centre now, so the signs are no longer necessary. Could be the same with theme parks. It better. It's the best themed ride in Australia at the moment.
  3. Or pop down the road to KDV at Carrara, and pay an absolute pittance anytime, for what's essentially the same experience! Or near enough anyway!
  4. Ok. I just assumed that was because the WPHS requirements hadn't been met. Possibly not. According to TPSN Creatures of the Deep is now closed and fenced off in preparation for construction to begin.
  5. I can't wait for that. It'll probably be even better than the one where Wipeout used to be!
  6. November is lasting a lot longer than it usually does!
  7. From its origin in another thread, this topic has been great fun. A GLad mix of silly nonsense and clever puns, it's Simply energy! I thought it was dead as a dodo for a day or two, but it's proven me wrong. It's re-amped. It's on fire. Alinta! Knowing that I can just click my mouse and have a laugh after I've Red the latest updates is power direct to my brain. My favourite thing to joke about, in my favourite country. Energy, Australia.
  8. Well, I see this topic is still steaming along. Kind of a fusion of excitement and boredom.
  9. In the last 24 hours, the forum has been transformed by this topic.
  10. Well, we have to keep trying so the topic doesn't become static.
  11. I don't think I've ever seen such a battery of comments on this forum that added so little new information about theme parks, yet were still so interesting!
  12. I think they had more urgent construction projects to prioritise, so they've abandoned the Whitewater World expansion. Instead, they demolished the Disneyland-inspired cinema facade to create SkyVoyager, then abandoning SkyVoyager to concentrate on demolishing Wipeout to create a shaded seating area, which they've now abandoned.
  13. My guess is that the umbrellas onthe right will be relocated to the Wipeout site, forming the shade. Looks like there is no budget for the seating though. It was spent on the hoarding instead. Therefore, guests wishing to make use of the shaded seating area, once it opens, can simply sit on the floor under the umbrellas. Let's hope it opens these school holidays!
  14. Why pull the plug? This conversation seems to have quite a bit of energy.
  15. I'm wondering if the seating that's been removed from underneath the shade sails near the claw will be relocated to the former site of the Wipeout. Thinking about it, maybe the shade sail (more of an umbrella really) will be too?
  16. One of the great things about Queensland is the weather permits theme parks, including waterparks, to open all year round. Anyone know what the crowds were like at Wet n Wild?
  17. It would be easy for them to construct. Just a blank dark maze with a few screens here and there showing one second clips of scappy-doo. It could end with a brief flash of white light.
