  1. Ok. I thought it was built early December and the shows started about mid December. In that case, who knows. Maybe there will still be something awesome!
  2. Oh! I am surprised. I thought they started at least building it by this time in December though.
  3. But nothing to compare with the two night entertainment experiences I mentioned.
  4. Very sad to see that theyappear not to be running any Beat Box or Fire Machine style events this year. I am sure they had started by this time the last two years, and those really were exciting experiences.
  5. Thanks RossL. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a trick art museum but I'll look online for some info. Ok. Having seen a few videos it now seems better than the Gold Coast bulletin made it sound, although I still doubt it could be as unique and immersive as it is now. Will be interesting to see though.
  6. I was there Saturday afternoon about 1.30pm and the queue for DC Rivals was about 5 minutes.
  7. No. Nothing as interesting as that. Just a place where you can take srlfies which digital effects will interact with. You could then upload them to Snapchat if you want I suppose. Soooooooo boring! I really hope I'm wrong and it ends up as something good.
  8. From my own experience, I've had numerous (at least 7 or 8) occasions over the last year or so when I've attempted to use me membership card only to be told it has "expired". I found this very annoying, especially considering one of the main reasons I got the membership is because it never expires! Each time, the attendant at the park entry has given me a small slip of paper with a phone number, and asked me to call the number to resolve the issue. The fact that they kept numerous copies of this handy at the entrance is evidence of how often this issue occurred. I have done so each time, only to find out each time that there was no issue really, just incompetence on the part of the third party business being used to keep track of all the memberships. I mean they literally had NOTHING to do but maintain records of an existing system, but they still couldn't do it! Maybe Village just had too many people complaining about this.
  9. It does seem odd though, given that international communication is free and instant these days!
  10. The driving school is pretty good as a ride for young children, and it's very well themed. However as a replacement for the LTRR it's pathetic to put it nicely! Does anyone know why LTRR was closed?
  11. It really is. I just wonder if they should be looking at how they're marketing it, and better targeting the sort of people who would enjoy it. Selfies? Really? Meh!
  12. I'm not even slightly surprised by this. It was very obvious just looking at it that it wouldn't come close to modern safety standards. I just hope the site doesn't lie vacant too long. Especially as it's close to the park entry it really should be something exciting there. Perhaps one possibility is the space will be available (if needed) to expand the cinema building as part of its conversion into a "simulator style" attraction. Presumably they wouldn't need all the space though, so something else should be planned for the remainder.
  13. He couldn't stand the fact that Australia enforces its border control laws and caught him deliberately flouting them. Well I love his acting but he is welcome to do it elsewhere if that's his attitude!
  14. Yep, but sometimes as the saying goes, no news is good news (but wouldn't it be great if they just printed NO news rather than rubbish!)
  15. I can play that game too. 99.999999999999999% of your comments are arrogant, rude and offensive. I just don't normally choose to do so!
  16. Saw that. I really hope they know what they're doing and it turns out much better than the bulletin makesit sound.
  17. Horrific news from Surfers Paradise. Draculas Haunted House is to close in the new year. According to the Gold Coast Bulletin the owners think it's too scary for families with young children (of course it is but who'd think other, and "too confronting" for Asian tourists, apparently. They intend to convert it into a new attraction where you take a selfy and various unspecified digital effects interact with your photos. Hmm. I'll have a look at it but it certainly doesn't sound like it could be anywhere near as good as it is now. I hope to be proven wrong.
  18. Looney Tunes was a dark ride suitable not just for kids, but for all guests. Shame they didn't replace it with something as good or better. Maybe one day.
  19. I'd have thought one of the fundamentals of managing pretty much any kind of infrastructure (including rides in a theme park) is that when something is purchased, it's realistic expected lifespan is usually known (as recommended by the manufacturer). Obviously it's never precise and is subject to several variances, but it should at least serve as a rough guide. Budgets should be prepared well in advance to replace parts / the whole thing as needed as the end date approaches. Then if it's found to last a bit longer, that's a bonus and maybe some of the money can be spend on something else that year, as long as it's still put aside the next year and the next until it actually does need to be spent. As I said, this seems basic to me.
