  1. Additional supports are being installed in the centre of the current gap between the two sections of track.
  2. Twice over the last few weeks I've been to Dreamworld. On both occasions I walked through the shop from Dreamworld into Whitewater World, and was not asked to show a ticket or pass! Have they made it so any ticket to Dreamworld includes entry to WWW now? Anyone know if they still check if you're going from WWW to Dreamworld?
  3. The shop had a completely new facade only a few years ago, so it's nice and fresh. Besides, what other well known Warner Brothers movies are there that prominently feature a sweet shop, let alone with a movie brand that's actually available in the real world. It's just perfect!
  4. But why? Charlie and the Chocolate factory is an excellent, enduring Warner Brothers movie which appeals to a broad cross section of the population. The theme of the shop is great (at least externally). It just needs to have the stock to live up to what people expect once they go inside.
  5. It's not a huge investment is it. At its most basic level they could simply order a better range of Wonka products through their supplier. I'm sure Village have a retail manager and I would have thought that should be part of their job.
  6. I saw a piece of track being lifted into position earlier this morning but the carpark was too full so I couldn't stop and get a photo.
  7. In addition to the fact Dreamworld is using a Warner Brothers movie song ("Pure Imagination") in its current advertising, I've just discovered that the candy shop at Dreamworld has a better range of Wonka products (actually MUCH better) than the supposed "Charlie and the chocolate factory" shop at Movie World. Not a good effort from Movie World in my humble opinion!
  8. A carnival ride spins you around, or throws you up and down. A theme park ride makes you part of a story, and takes you into another world!
  9. A cohesive and engaging story that's relevant to the theme of the park it's in. Arkham Asylum is a brilliant example of this.
  10. Hmm. Surely there's already plenty of twists and rolls (for those who enjoy that sort of thing) on Green Lantern. What would be wrong with just some pleasant ups and downs at moderàte speed? It wouldn't really live up to any movie theme, but at least it would be enjoyable as well as providing some interesting views.
  11. According to this post on Facebook by TPSN, supports have been installed. I'm not sure where though. I was there a couple of hours ago and didn't see any above ground construction. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1298940303520908&substory_index=0&id=132673766814240
  12. STOP! All tickets (adults and kids) are just $69 at the moment if you buy at Movie World or Sea World!
  13. I always get my Australian Outback Spectacular tickets through Groupon. Currently they're $79, and well worth every cent of it (although normally they're $69 through Groupon)! I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. I've never heard of Ringers Western, but I've known of RM Williams most of my life, even before I moved to Australia! Still though. It really doesn't bother me. Just realised the reason it's $79 on Groupon at the moment is that they're only offering tickets via Groupon for Saturdays. If you don't mind waiting a while, I'm fairly sure the $69 weekday tickets (which is what I've always bought) will be back soon enough!
  14. Doesn't sound like a joke at all to me. More like a very good (albeit fairly obvious) observation!
  15. Obviously can't get anything like the full experience just from the videos on YouTube but from what I can see, and from having seen the lengths Darren Brown goes to in creating illusions, it's obviously a very impressive experience. Next time I visit Britain I will definitely be going to Thorpe Park for this!
  16. Hmm. Thrills have their place, but they're not everyones idea of the main point of visiting a THEME park. I really wish Movie World would focus their investment on providing a better range of MOVIE related experiences (including, but not limited to rides). I can see that a big rollercoaster is a headline-grabber because it's so physically big, but honestly that's just not what it's about for me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Like most of us, I'm pretty much housebound today as nothing's open, so I've been watching one of Warner Brothers all time classic family films "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. If ever there was fantastic potential to base a new ride on, that's surely it. Timeless and appeals to all ages. Maybe one day! Oh, and they can claim back their song from Dreamworld when they do!
  17. The spooky passageway in the last part of the queue is getting a partial repaint, to remove the graffiti and just freshen it up a bit.
  18. I agree completely. It's bad enough that one of the rides at Dreamworld is called Tower of TERROR (especially considering the connection of that word with terrorism since 9/11. Completely goes against what a theme park is all about.
  19. The headsets are a bit uncomfortable, especially when the strong Gforces make it push violently against the top of your nose. Some padding there would probably help. Well worth it though.
