Awesome job someone did there with RCT3. Must have taken forever! -
[Wishful Thinking] The Gold Rush Replacement

Thanks Mickey D! It's something that would appeal to all ages, and to guests who aren't really into thrill rides, rollercoasters, or fairground rides! -
[Wishful Thinking] The Gold Rush Replacement

I'd like to see the whole area completely cleared (including Buzz saw, which could be relocated elsewhere in the park where there's space for it) and a completely new themed area created. The theme: Doctor Who (obviously needs applicable licensing from the BBC, but I don't know of anywhere else in Australia Dreamworld would be competing with on that, and Dreanworld already has the BBC tie-in with ABC kids world, so should be possible). There would be several awesome rides, and various other experiences. One or more of them could be accessed via a Tardis, and after walking and / or riding through various rooms you would exit through the Tardis but in a completely different place, out of sight of the one you entered through (giving the illusion the Tardis moved). Upon entering you would go downstairs, and a small part of the attraction would be underground. You could then (if necessary) go back upstairs for the main, central part of the attraction, and then downstairs into another underground section for the last part. In this way, both Tardis would appear not to be attached to anything, hence giving the illusion of "bigger on the inside". This would be something like the Doctor Who experience I've been to in London, and also (much earlier) in Blackpool, England. There are many possibilities for ride, cinematic, educational, live entertainment, and walk-through components both within the Tardis and elsewhere in the new themed Dr Who section of Dreamworld. Of course there would also be a shop selling Dr Who merchandise, some of which would not be available elsewhere in Australia. There could even be a Dr Who themed restaurant maybe (although apart from Fish Fingers and Custard I'm not sure what it could sell)!!! On second thoughts, maybe we'll skip the Fish Fingers and Custard, or at least serve them separately as 2 different menu items, both accompanied by something else! -

Now that I'd happily pay for a ticket to watch! I imagine they'd get plenty of publicity too. -

Obviously she's a bit "special" (although I feel no need to be so polite, so I'll just go ahead and say she has very low intelligence)! -

I knew it was only a matter of time. Hope Sea World are able to take suitably strong action against these scum that it ensures they stay away from the park in future. Having said this, I do find it strange that such people don't seem to have any real issues with the animals "held in captivity" at such parks as Dreamworld, Paradise Country, Australia Zoo etc. They also don't seem too bothered about the many other animals "abused" by Sea World. Just singling out Dolphins. Nor do they protest (at least to any noticeable extent) against people keeping animals "captive" as pets. Think of all those poor "abused" dogs and cats, for example! I wonder if any of these losers actually have jobs, or even hobbies (apart from that of interrupting harmless family entertainment to draw attention to themselves). If they genuinely care as much as they claim to about animal welfare, they could start by volunteering with the animal welfare league, RSPCA or similar. Then again, I very much doubt any decent organisation would accept them! -
Parkz News Are Australian theme park rides safe?

Haha! What a silly question. They're safer than any other rides in any other theme park in the world now! -
I had no idea there even was a toilet block there!

But they're NOT amusement parks. They're THEME parks. There's a very important distinction in my opinion! -

"The greatest attraction the southern hemisphere has ever seen" is very much a matter of opinion. My opinion is that the greatest attraction the southern hemisphere had ever seen was Bermuda Triangle at Sea World. Now that's sadly gone, it's probably Wild West Falls at Movie World. I'm not very excited about a mere rollercoaster that will just go up and down. I also can't see what on earth it has to do with movies either. Still good to see another new ride being built though. -
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Reopening [Dec 26, 2016]
pushbutton replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Just been watching a video of the Scooby Doo ride at Movie World Madrid. Does anyone think maybe the one in the Gold Coast might end up resembling this (in style)? Personally I hope not, but it's a possibility I suppose.- 202 replies

Well Movie World did say just this morning they have a very friendly relationship with Dreamworld! -
I certainly agree that theme park rides are safer than driving on the M1. It's absolutely horrific! There's nothing wrong with the road. It's the way most of the drivers drive. I hold my breath in anticipation of disaster every time I have to drive on it.

I take you're point about well designed multi level carparks. Yes they can be safe I suppose if they're well designed.- 30 replies

Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Reopening [Dec 26, 2016]

That's extremely poor. Not necessarily the fault of "Eve", but management should ensure that the people responding to enquiries are fully aware of what's going on in the parks. Certainly major upgrades.- 202 replies

It is indeed and the various different recordings (different ones on each train) are highly entertaining as well! Mind you, it's Alton Towers. Even the toilets are entertaining there (seriously)!

I would hate it if I had to park in a multi-level carpark to visit any of the theme parks. They are always crowded and dangerous to get in and out of. Also if the parks spent the money to build multistorey carparks you can almost guarantee they'd start charging for parking. No thanks!- 30 replies

It's by far the biggest and best monorail system I've ever seen anywhere in the world. I lost track of how many monorail trains there are (tried to count the other ones I saw while I was on one of them, but just couldn't see enough of them to work out the total. Definitely at least 6 though). What's more (although I'd never do this) you technically don't even have to have a ticket for the theme park to use the monorail! If you lived nearby you could simply park your car (in a section of the carpark you don't have to pay to park in) then get on the monorail and ride for as long as you liked for free! You'd get a superb view of the theme park, and a pretty decent overview of where most of the other attractions are (including the 2 hotels, waterpark, chalets, castle, adventure golf, and the amazing gardens).

I've been to quite a few theme parks in various parts of the world, including Disneyland California. In my honest opinion, Alton Towers in Stafford, England is by far the best theme park I have ever been to. Great weather isn't exactly guaranteed, but apart from that it's got everything!

Great to see at least some people appear to know what a safe gap is. This is one of the best explanations I've seen about it And this is one example of what can very easily happen when people don't leave a safe gap. It's just not worth the risk, yet I see numerous people doing it every day, even in heavy vehicles like trucks. It's terrifying to be honest.
