Taken directly from the MLE Press Release: I believe it would be in their best interests to offer a multi-park pass similar to Warner Village's "ticketing mega-mix" (3 Park Super Pass).

I'm sensing some community guidelines "breakage" in this thread.

I believe the water doesn't drain at a very fast rate. Once the pumps are switched off it would make the rapids less turbulent. However if someone was in the water it would be considered a time critical emergency... something which would almost certainly result in a fatality unless action was taken immediately. The trick is to prevent people falling into the water in the first place.

Thanks for putting everything into context Clint. I'd also have to agree; a Roller-Coaster.com.au Subscription is better than life itself - as is demonstrated in the below graph. My god: parts on-site already? That's insane. I think it's time to start some intense ride discussion: - How many towers are we looking at? -Will it be anything like California Adventure's Maliboomer? -Anyone have any ideas on how it could be themed? -Location... Superman Escape area?

Just wondering... why do you think this? Why twenty years? Where will we see these parks?

New Water Attraction For Dreamworld...

That's a really good point. It's also strange why this wouldn't be in the water park... -
Google isn't just the best (website) search engine; they also offer a myraid of other helpful services. One of these services is their definitions search. Here's an example of how one could use it - define: SBNO. It works for almost every technical term or acronym in existence.

It seems that everyone on these boards knows someone who works at Movie World who is feeding them information (including me ). I totally agree Richard. Wet 'n' Wild has been an abhorrent under-capacitated park for too long. Those days are gone, it's time for the duopoly to begin.

Building even a small amusement enterprise is a huge investment and shouldn’t be undertaken lightly (if you actually want to remain open longer than recent failures – Sega World). Often starting out small is the cheapest but not always the best way to go about building a park. If you don’t know anything about how to build a park, which this post suggests, then I wouldn’t bother. The amount of money, work and effort involved would be tremendous. Even if you have the money, you'd have to work out if this is the best way for you to invest? I have a mate who's a financial analyst; maybe you could have a chat to him about your various investing options. If you were to ask for my personal advice, I'd have to agree with Gazza. If you're really passionate about it, find some land and build a mini-golf course (heck, if it's in Brisbane we could even have an R-C.com.au meet there ). Run that for a few years and see how it goes. But just remember, after it's built you're going to be attached to all profits and debts the business has. You'll need to pay for upkeep, advertising, vomit removal... As for books, "Building your own Theme Park for Dummies" is usually a good read. Be sure to keep us updated on your situation.

Exactly. It comes back to my previous post. There isn't much the whole family (young or old) can enjoy.

Australian Outback Spectacular opens to the public

The signs are there to give people a friendly reminder. I doubt they'd be using drinking water for the shower sequence. -
That usually happens when they're both photographing the same object. Can't you notice the difference in quality? There's no way they're the same.

There's a small problem with the reply to post textbox being wider than the design's fixed width. Here's your problem: <textarea cols="80" rows="20" style='margin:0px;width:650px' id='postcontent' name="Post" tabindex="5" class="rteiframe">There's a small problem with the reply to post textbox being wider than the design's fixed width.</textarea> <div class="rteDiv" style="width:650px"> And here's your fix:<textarea cols="80" rows="20" style='margin:0px;width:600px' id='postcontent' name="Post" tabindex="5" class="rteiframe">There's a small problem with the reply to post textbox being wider than the design's fixed width.</textarea> <div class="rteDiv" style="width:600px">Or something similar. -
I just found something hidden in Richard's post.

I think it's better if you can't see much from the road. Especially with Disneyland; when you enter through the gates it's like you are being transported to a different world. All these things you couldn't see from the outside (due to the intentional placement of barriers) are now visible. It's really quite spectacular.

I think Spotty is right (and so he should be with the amount of time he spends at Movie World ). It's too soon (after Superman has opened) to begin construction on the S&S. I'd say maybe late '06 construction for an early '07 opening. And that's just a complete guess too , none of that is fact.

I thought it sounded strangely familiar. But yea, good point, it would be bad if they made a blatant copy of one of Wet 'n' Wild's names. Whitewater World would suffice.

Nice to hear about your trip tom. I've been to California (had such a great time) and I'd love to visit Florida next time I go overseas. The Walt Disney World Resort looks like a really nice place (what can be better than four Disney theme parks and a couple of water parks?).

I think BOMBURA BAY is a fantastic name. It's unique and easy to say. It also sounds more like a place ("bay") as opposed to "rush", for example.

New Water Attraction For Dreamworld...
Adam replied to OzCoasterFreek's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Somehow I don't think this will be a ride: Is a roller coaster an Australian first? Does it require skills? Could it really be called an aquatic experience? Sounds more like a flow rider to me... If Dreamworld is getting a roller-coaster in the next few years, it wont be something small. It will need to be as good if not better than Superman Escape otherwise it'd be pointless. -
Off topic: Nah, Gazza. I've been developing websites for several years now (both for myself and corporate entities) and I am very well "learned" about how to structure a website effectively and more specifically how to present content that will perform well in every platform and browser (which includes search engine indexing bots). Google bombing is an ineffective malpractice that will usually result in the particular website being dropped from Google's index. Being an avid Google user, I do not condone this behaviour. If you search for similar items that are on AussieParks.com you will find most of our listings are near or at the top. Back on topic: Couldn't have said it better myself joz.

Yea you do. I just registered then and they're showing up. -
Try searching Google for s&s space shot. It's funny how Australia is the first result and we don't even have one yet. Maybe it's a sign of Good things to come.

All New Site & All New Home for Roller-Coaster.com.au

Nice work Richard. I've just noticed though that none of the javascript functions on the forums are running. I'm not exactly sure why but it may be something to do with the fact that half the site is still linking to http://brooklyn.net5.com.au/~rollerc/. I'm pretty sure that's the case as I'm getting 'function undefined' javascript errors. I didn't know you were planning to style the forums but it looks great. Really cool idea. The subheadings on the left are beautiful too. -
Australia's first theme park podcast announced (via AussieParks.com). We have Roller-Coaster.com.au for everything on theme parks (nice new site design too Richard), we have OzCoaster.net for photos, we have AussieParks.com for news... are we about to get a local version of CoasterRadio too? Sounds like a pretty exciting addition.
