Running a single train requires less staff, money, and maintenance. Movie World believes that people won't mind waiting 30 minutes for a ride like Superman Escape during off-peak periods.
-
Back to the Future: The Ride is a simulator. I definitely don't think a Scooby-Doo re-theme is a good idea. We want to see new and innovative rides at Movie World.

How cool would something like this be? With an actual image of Superman projected. The blue dot, as it stands, is pretty lame. Edit: That product might not be the right one to project an image, but something similar.

I couldn't agree more Tommy. It's a real shame seeing the main room with an insufficient level of fog. It really ruins that part of the ride.

GigaSize should meet your needs. The quality of YouTube is horrible (and yes if you upload a high quality video to YouTube it will reduce the video's quality); its major selling point is the fact that you can start watching videos instantly on any plantform with a single click.

Oh my god I cannot believe you just said that (<3 Vicky Pollard). LIM and LSM are completely different. It's like saying Coke and Pepsi are the same thing. For non-technical minded individuals thought it's probably alright to assume they're both the same. They do the same thing but in a different way. It's almost like the difference between pushing a supermarket trolley and pulling it. It works different muscles on your body, requires a different degree of concentration, and depends on the situation.

First litter of Sumatran tiger cubs at Tiger Island
Adam replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Nature doesn't always work to promote the existence of every species on Earth. According to Darwin's theory of evolution, only animals and organisms that can adapt to their environment will survive. Humans have had a massive impact on the environment that tigers roam, and it is a popular belief that we should be the ones to restore the animal's population to its original number, especially now that our society is better educated about nature and the environment. -
The Dreamworld website states that the Avis Vintage Cars in River Town are 'temporarily closed during construction of a brand new attraction opening later in the year.'

The circled area looks like a perfect location for something Australian Idol related; especially with a stage nearby. As for The Simpson's, the third high-definition trailer is out. This trailer actually includes some quite funny jokes (unlike some of the new TV episodes).

Dear Craig, I think many of us (on the forums) are of the general consensus that Australia—currently, at least—doesn't have the population to support a Disney theme park.

Yeah I guess you're right dr_teeth. The same guy also has a video on YouTube about a fictional Google product: Google TV beta. The author (Mark Erickson) shows how to sign up for the beta, and it involves something which actually takes forever to complete (signing in and out of Gmail until the Google TV link appears, which it won't!). His videos are so professional though. The animated diagrams are better than the ones on Seconds From Disaster. i<3infinitesolutions

I thought "it's called electrical tape because it conducts electricity" would've given it away, dr_teeth? I think the Infinite Solutions series is hilarious. Especially about how incorrect daylight saving times can make your operating system instable and prone to virus attacks.

Given the family-oriented nature of theme parks, it can be an absolute disaster (overstatement) when you arrive at a theme park park with flat digital camera batteries; the disaster stemming from the lack of family photos that will come out of the trip. Buying expensive theme park batteries used to be the only option, that is, until now. A handy tutorial on how to charge ANY standard battery has been posted on YouTube. (via YouTube). Any thoughts?

Nice article. It's about time Dreamworld invested in a quality full-circuit coaster.
-
You can't compare the worst roller coaster in Australia (Cyclone) to the best thrill ride (The Claw). We all know that rOlLerCoAsTERs_rule_4lyf! What could've happened that would take five months to fix?
-
The Thunderbolt closed on the 8th of August 2003. More information can be found on Roller-Coaster.com.au's profile of the ride. Just for the record, it wasn't better than the Cyclone. The coaster was well rough.

Mick Doohan Motocoaster construction discussion
Adam replied to AugustVonPolen's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If the shipping containers have been there since the construction of WhiteWater World then I very much doubt they contain the track pieces for Dreamworld's Unknown Intamin Coaster. In unrelated news; subscribe today! -
Are you being sarcastic Gazza? /sarcasm Like many here, I'm still not pleased that the recipient of this ride is a water park. People only visit water parks so they can take their clothes off and play in the water. In the WATER! I reckon this style of ride—which does look rather exciting—would be more suited to Movie World or Sea World.

I totally agree. I guess no one would believe them if they said the ride wasn't closed due to gross negligence. Hopefully one of our valued members will keep us updated on the construction of this ride through the magic of photography. -
Sounds like the real thing. Do you have any screenshots Tony?
-
That's pretty impressive Gazza. Your drawing 'skillz' are off the chain. I really like the idea for the queue. Too many of our rides have boring switch back queues.

A roller coaster, or any other non-water ride, at Wet'n'Wild would be a big mistake. I just don't see the point. Anyone care to enlighten me as to why a dry ride would be placed in an environment where everyone is wet?

Walt Disney World Company: 2006 Annual Report!
Adam replied to WalleyWorld's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Actually Disneyland Paris already has an Autopia. I also read on a Disney forum that the new Cars attraction at Disneyland Paris will use the same technology as DCA's Francis' Ladybug Boogie (a small children's ride). Looks like it's time to get excited. Test Track at DCA! -

Thanks for the link Coaster Boy. The new park is most likely the one they're about to build in Shanghai. I remember reading a rumor about a possible Cars (the movie) attraction; "Carland" certainly seems fit for that. It looks pretty similar to Test Track (which is a good thing) so maybe we'll see this one in Southern California. It'd be great to see more thrill rides at the Disneyland Resort. Update: After doing a little research, I uncovered an official page about a Cars attraction in Paris. I'd say Carland is just Paris' version of Autopia. -
Laughing out loud. I don't think it would matter where you live as long as you get to work on time.
