There is a new interactive attraction coming to Warner Bros. Movie World in Easter.
-
I don't think there is something such as a maximum speed because there are so many variables involved.
-
Dreamworld didn't invent the roller coaster either, they came from America as well... But Rabid I would have to agree, Europe it is. But I hardly think any of this matters...

Movie World is Movie World. That's really all there is to say. Richard, I have to say I agree, Disney has been the best park in the last 50 years. But whats to say another park can't overtake that status? I couldn't disagree more with a statement like "no park will ever match Disney". And Alex, the answers you gave are missing the point entirely. (I am not just saying this because of what happened earlier with the whole argument about screens - I do respect what you have to say). Usually businesses are in business to make a profit. This profit can be maximized if you’re the best. There could be ten shops on the same street as you that do exactly what you do, but everyone comes to you, because you’re simply the best, better than anyone. Imagineers are only people with a vision. That same vision can be shared by people outside the Disney network.

Adam, im loving your name. Its awesome mate. Although I disagree entirely with it, it's an interesting statement. If no park will ever match Disney, then why are they in business? To be the second best park in the world? Yea, exactly! Disney are spending 100 million on Expedition Everest, how can you possibly capitalize from that? Can anyone, who has experience in the field, please tell me why Disney are spending $87 million more than what was spent on Scooby Doo? Is it a bigger track (it's using Vekoma's new ride system)? A bigger building (I'm not sure how big the mountain is going to be)? Thanks in advance.

Yea, the fire and the flooding scenes have great special effects. Just a question about prirates, has it been updated since it was first installed? (e.g. a major upgrade)
-
If they were to change the pre-show they would need to change the ride as the pre-show is usually linked directly to the ride.
-
Thanks Richard, that was exactly what I was looking for.
-
Same here. The Batman pre-show is very boring once you've been on it. Although when you compare it to standing in the sun for another half an hour then its not so bad. I think the key point is that a pre-show program should not increase the wait for the ride.
-
How do you know the majority with a brain dislikes the show? can you give me a source (such as a statistical report by MCL or Network 10. I have no source or financial report but if they are giving a car to every housemate, and a million dollars to the winner... Gazza, this thread is talking about the Dreamworld expansion, if you want to discuss the financial opportunities of a reality television show such as Big Brother feel free to IM me. Sorry for getting off topic. I think a Dreamworld community is a great idea although it doesn't sound as though many more rides are going to be added to this community.

I never knew that. I didn't think it would be possible to transfer enough energy. Obviously it is. I suppose they would need to be bigger than regular hydraulic actuators. Does anyone have a diagram, or can anyone explain how hydraulics are used to propel the trains? Is it just a hydraulic actuator that pushes under the train or more complex? Is a hydraulic launch as smooth as a magnetic launch? Thanks.
-
Are hydraulics / pneumatics used to launch some coasters?
-
If it pulls in the many crowds and millions of dollars that it does, then not everyone thinks it sucks.

Yea I am also looking forward to seeing how Superman is themed. I would like to see an interactive / entertaining que area. And now back to the real discussion… The reason this thread was started was to debate the issue as to whether Disney level theming could be achieved in Australia (in reply to wonderbus2003's post that said its not possible for an Australian park to have "Disney theming"). I said that Scooby has "disney theming" but not many agree with me. Fair enough. You are all open to your own opinions . This then got me thinking about Sea World (another Australian park) and their Bermuda Triangle adventure. Who would agree that Bermuda Triangle has "disney level theming"? Who doesn't agree? Why? Can anyone think of a pioneering ride / attraction in an Australian park that has earnt “Disney level” recognition?

What Roller coasters did you go on in 2004?
Adam replied to zaneymon's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Dreamworld Eureka Cyclone Movie World Scooby Road Runner Lethal Weapon Aussie World (sunshine coast) Wild Mouse And hopefully by the end of 2005, Superman! -
Scott, it looks as a moderator has added 'above average' for you.
-
Very good. Agreed. Basically what I was trying to say, was that not all simulators in Australia are as well themed as Batman.
-
I know this topic is very old but I thought it would be better to post it here than start a new thread... What actually happened at Wonderland? Did a wooden roller coaster derail?
-
Haha, average is your best option then.
-
I am merely discussing the themeing in Australian parks. Yes, Richard sure did slap it in my face by simply answering a question I posted.
-
Haha, thanks Richard. It helps
-
That's right. Good old treasure island. Haha, Big Brother is alight. A lot of people certainly follow it.
-
Thanks wonderbus2003 for your contribution. What I think you are referring to are the early-day procedural training programs. While these simulators did not have screens, they still provided a "visual" simulation of the experience with aircraft instruments. I think you will find however, that almost all modern flying simulators have screens. Does anyone have an example of a theme park simulator that does not have a screen?
-
Thanks, could you give me an example?
-
Hey, Please tick the statement above that applies to you. Thanks
