  1. Haha, you crack me up Alex. You don't seem to have a very good sense of humor and I'm sure everyone knows that when I said "Alex, I cannot see why you are saying that a simulator would be nothing without a screen..." that I was being completely honest and not sarcastic. Alex you are not making sense. These are two completely different statements. A simulator can have a screen but not have a story; it simply needs to recreate the actions of the craft it is simulating. Your claim – “as a simulator, it is necessary to have some sort of story or adventure” is false. As the very talented joz said... These simulators have screens, but no stories or themeing, yet they are still called simulators, interesting… The “themeing” on the Batman ride at Movie World is the que area, the manor, the pre-show program, the cave etc. not the screen in the simulator, as you seem to claim it is. Thanks Alex for quoting the very professional and quick-witted opinions of Richard, Rabid, and DjRappa. However, when I say “In my opinion” I am not stating in any way that Richard, Rabid or DjRappa agree with me. So I cannot see how this is relevant to my opinion; you are stating their opinion, not mine. Also when browsing these forums it becomes apparent that not everyone agrees with what these people have said previously, yourself included. Scooby Doo feels like a haunted castle, it feels realistic and true-to-life.
  2. Hey, I can only remember one indoor roller coaster that I have been on (space mountain was ages ago) and that's Scooby Doo. I would like to know what everyone elses favourite indoor coaster is. Thanks.
  3. I think most people want to get on the ride as quickly as possible Well themed rides don't need long ques with movies or staff reading from scripts etc, they simply need to make you feel as though this isn't an "attraction" but a real or true-to-life environment.
  4. Well said joz . Alex, I cannot see why you are saying that a simulator would be nothing without a screen... Well, I did some research and I found that simulators in Disneyland, Universal and Movie World all seem to have screens, interesting... Since all parks have screens on their simulators we cannot say that one park is better because it has a screen. They all do. Also, the term 'simulator' means: So if a simulator, such as the Batman simulator at Movie World, was to simulate the experience of riding a space-age craft, then not only does the system need to move as would this particular craft, but also provide video and audio entertainment in order to simulate this action. So, a ‘simulator’, without a screen, is technically not a simulator. But returning to what I said earlier, having a screen or not does not prove that "Disney level theming" cannot be provided in an Australian theme park. In my opinion, Scooby Doo has already achieved this. It's an Australian first. Well done.
  5. lol, its funny how you get so annoyed. The first part of the ride isn't trying to find Scooby Doo, its from after the elevator that this begins. As you get into the elevator and the track has obviously run out, it says "Scooby, scooby doo where are you?" and then you hear good old scooby say "I'm up here".
  6. Does anyone know when Expedition Everest will be opening? I heard that it was 2006, is this correct?
  7. Not everyone likes the same type of ride. A varied ride experience throughout a theme park provides greater fun and excitement and appeals to larger audiences. I don’t know what your trying to say with that. As joz said above, finding Scooby is the story. If you have been on the ride then I doubt you would call it stupid and ridiculous. I agree with what you have said joz but sometimes the reasons why they don’t use real wood or rock in certain themed rides, are the same reasons why they don’t use real wood or rock in movies. ...well all of that is my opinion of course.
  8. Very interesting discussion. The Pirates of the Caribbean DVD (which I'm guessing you don't have) shows where the ride is located and how it works etc. The Batman Ride follows a story... And now I'm looking forward to ten angry posters replying with why it's not up to the Disney ride experience Scooby has a story as well, your trying to find Scoooooooooby Dooo. Thanks for your contribution GoBoi. But can I ask, what would you find more impressive in this part of the ride? I've been to Disneyland, but it was ages ago, and I can't really remember much of it...
  9. Yea mine restarts every now and again. I think it was my graphics card though because it doesn't do it anymore. If you have windows xp with sp2 when it restarts it should tell you what caused the problem and offer any avaliable updates from third parties. The problem I had was that my graphics card driver software needed updating. Works pretty good now.
  10. Haha! I'm waiting for someone to do better than that. I still havn't finished the exterior on the coaster section of the ride.
  11. AWL is Australian Water and Leisure? What city are they based?
  12. Of course they don't! But as the name implies, this is for people with RCT3. Screenshots are below
  13. I cannot see why this is not possible? Movie World has "Disney level themeing" on Scooby Doo.
  14. lol, Could you just download it ? Ill post some screenshots once its finished.
  15. Not at the moment, most of the ride is inside a building.
  16. I agree Scott but its still a Movie themed experience.
  17. I agree with you Richard. But I think their main problem is usable space. It would be great Alex, if they could build a new themed area, but I'm not sure if they have the space.
  18. If people do go 'nuts' in these situations, how could they possible que for a ride where there are lots of people?
  19. The Matrix Exhibit is an insight to the production of the three Matrix Films, your claim "shows nothing about movies behind the scenes" is invalid. No movie related attractions? I guess Scooby Doo, Lethal Weapon, Wild West Falls, and Police Academy are not movie related? I guess none of these attractions were based on Warner Village Feature Films. And I guess the new Superman ride wont be movie related. Most people would only visit the park every two or three years if that. So for a lot of people this ride is still a 'new' ride.
  20. The Special Effects tour was old. How do you know they aren't planning an even bigger tour for another area of the park? I'm sure Movie World know a lot more about what the people who visit their park want to see than anyone here. What about the Matrix attraction?
  21. This is my best attempt of the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster at Movie World  Once you have downloaded it please post a reply telling me what ya think. Parts of it are not finished, like the main wharehouse building needs to be completed (but the track is in place). The vertical lift cannot be added, and some other track elements / theming have been hard to incorporate.
  22. I agree Gazza. Movie World is a better park with better rides but Dreamworld has more rides.
  23. Thanks Richard. wonderbus2003 the threads you gave me do not seem relevant to my question but thanks anyway.
  24. Exactly. People wouldn't buy an annual pass unless they were going more than three or four times a year. Otherwise, what's the point?
  25. Hey, Does anyone know how the scooby doo lift runs up the vertical tracks? (e.g. does it use cables like a regular lift?) Thanks.
