Has anyone seen this? http://nyefestival.net.au/default.aspx I first saw it and immediately dismissed it as fake. I can't seem to find a trace of this "One Cube Entertainment" on the internet. But I saw the WnWS fb page reply to some people asking about it, saying "This is not a Wet'n'Wild Sydney operated event, a third party is hosting the event" and then "We will be making an official announcement soon". I hopped to this event's facebook page to see they have announced Will Sparks as a headliner, which he confirmed on his own facebook page. They say it will be a 16+ event with 18+ areas for alcohol. I'm confused now.

Announcement #1: Typhoon (Rattler) "Experience exhilarating drops on this two-person raft ride that will leave you gripping your tube as you spiral through the Typhoon. Hold on for a ride full of twists and turns as you make your way through dark tunnels of the Typhoon before splashing down in the pool below." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntFDzgbOsYc&feature=youtu.be So they have Tropical Cyclone and now Typhoon. I wonder if they'll call the Tornado the Tornado. and the Tantrum Alley the Hurricane.

As far as I know they aren't allowed to remove the trees in the red shaded areas. My best guess is they will start expanding in the green region. They should be able to add in a decent amount of new attractions there. EDIT: Also, is anyone able to find out if Nearmap has updated recently?

An article with a bunch of new pics. Progress is looking good. http://www.blacktownsun.com.au/story/1820601/gallery-wet-n-wild-construction-on-track/?cs=12

It seems to be official, as the page has been linked to by both the WnWGC and 2DayFM facebook pages, and there's also a feed of the WnWS page on http://wetnwildsydney.com.au/

Scrolling through the comments, I've seen a few dozen suggestions with Wonderland or Snowy River in them. Also seen a lot of Boomerang Bay, isn't that the name of the Wave Pool?

From Wet'n'Wild Sydney's facebook page:

New video up. Pretty much the same U2-rip-off-music style overview with updated layout and colours.
-
http://wetnwildsydney.com.au/ The website has been completely overhauled. IMO the design is really messy and confusing but there's some new info, including some names for slides: Aqualoops = 360Rush Boomerango = Half Pipe Constrictor = Tropical Cyclone Bowling Alley = Double Bowlseye

I see a conveyor belt! (around 4 mins in)
-
Thanks for that Gazza. Does anyone know if any conveyor belts are going to be used? I'd like to see them on the ProSlide towers. There's one on this model of the tornado tower.
-
It doesn't matter really, I'm just wondering why they would reuse colour schemes of slides when there's plenty of other combinations they could have used.
-
New article: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/west/beach-begins-to-take-shape-at-western-sydney8217s-wet8217n8217wild/story-fngr8i5s-1226699827502 And I got some pics today of the bowling alley & raft slide. They're adding a third one on the left. aren't they? Wait a minute. I noticed towards the car park side of the park there was a bunch of light and dark blue family raft tubes being connected. But isn't the Tornado Wave already finished? Maybe the third raft slide on the bowling alley tower is going to be the same colours as the Tornado Wave. I hope not.
-
Colour choices for the most part have been pretty confusing. It looks like they just chose any random colours for the racer. Makes no sense. That's the only one I have a problem with though. Some other slides (Tornado, Master Blasters, Rattler) have some weird combinations but I don't mind them that much. I do find it weird they used the exact same colours on the Constrictor and Bowling Alley. I decided to edit the Bowling Alley to match the colours in the video (just to see what it looked like).

I assume the seasons will run from the beginning of the September school holidays through to the end of the April one? On the tickets, I did find it odd they'd charge full price for passes for a 4 month season, but some of the posts above justify that. And if anyone is like me, they'll probably visit the park enough times in the first 4 months to make that $125 seem perfectly fair.

A couple of screens from Julys' latest youtube updates: Some pieces enclosing the funnel in the bottom left. They don't look to be translucent. And the lead up to the funnel is done, no translucency there. Personally I'd rather they didn't add lights. I'd prefer they keep it as dark as possible, letting in small amounts of light like the dark mammoth at Jamberoo. EDIT: Pics went down, reupped.
-
Why is the first picture an intensely saturated version of the one in your last post?
-
Awesome pics! Liking the pattern on the tornado.

Was thinking "WaterLink"
-
Starting to take shape! Might have to head down there sometime in the next few weeks to see for myself.
-
Makes sense. Guess the enclosed line just looked shorter when I joined it.
-
Really? When I did the Rapids, the enclosed line moved at about half the speed of the open one. Also, people were being let into the park before any slides were open and a crowd quickly formed in front of Constrictor. As soon as it opened people started pouring in, so I was lucky enough to be one of the first in a line that filled very quickly. I might head back in a few months, hopefully during a time when NSW have school holidays and QLD don't.
-
Well that plan pretty much went out the window. Headed for constrictor first, had some delays and by the time I was done there the lines had formed everywhere else. Pretty much went around to random attractions, managed to get in everything except the black hole. Left the WWM until just before the park closed, line was short but slow.

Both Tornado and Kamikaze had their own separate fast track queues that went around the side of the normal ones. What was really annoying is after waiting ages for the Tornado and getting to the front, some people rocked up in the fast track and tried to get the raft I had already been allocated.
