  1. I use CoasterCritic's scale for rating rides, and by using it I rate GL a 7.5. It falls short of an 8 as an 8 is supposed mean the ride is close to being among the world's best coasters, and GL really isnt that. Its a lot of fun though. Using the same system, I rate other rides like this: Superman - 8.5/10 (Just falls short of a 9 due to its shortness and slightly rough ride in the back) TOT II - 7.5/10 Scooby Doo - 7/10 Cyclone - 6/10 Motocoaster - 5/10 Lethal Weapon - 2.5/10 (Harsh? Possibly.) This is the scale I use if anyones interested - http://www.thecoaste...t/rating-system
  2. Since when does Village Roadshow care about removing popular rides?
  3. Unless Movieworld is somehow installing a MAJOR new ride, I doubt they'd take almost a year to build a ride, so I doubt it.
  4. That's an awesome sign! Looks like there's something on the way
  5. I think Vekoma did a good enough job destroying it by simply building it.
  6. Gazza, your description of the Mummy ride sounds very different to the Orlando one? I thought on the Orlando one the launch and coaster section came before the Scarabs? EDIT: Nevermind I'm thinking of the Hollywood one.
  7. I vote for themeparkgc, I love his ideas. Everyone else did great, Mikemacs was great but the Star Wars themed ride kinda lost me.
  8. When you ride it you'll discover the drop has plenty of thrill as it is
  9. Yeah good point reanimated. I think crawling over the drop adds a good amount to the thrill, especially in the first row.
  10. Oh really? I thought those trains in that picture were of KumbaK trains? So are we guessing the new trains will be from Vekoma then?
  11. That's interesting, I had a completely different experience when I rode the one in Melbourne last month. I thought it was great, but it DOES go on a bit, to the point where it becomes unexciting (I won't say boring). But I experienced no pain, and that's coming from a person who finds Scooby Doo rough...
  12. If it is a Zamperla, let's hope they go for a Power Surge or even (though this may be tricky) a Zamperla Discovery. I'm hoping with some expansions, Aussie World could become a really great classic amusement park like Knoebels in USA (though not quite as good as that lol)
  13. EDIT: Nevermind, the picture is a bit out of date. Green Lantern is still under construction.
  14. Yeah their spinning coasters look great. Ive been on a Gerstlauer spinner and it was amazing, Maurers are meant to be similar. I'd love to see a Maurer/Gerstlauer spinner in a smaller park like luna park or Aussie world, that'd be a great addition IMO.
  15. Dammit Maurer Sohne, your rides look so promising but they never are.
  16. Those are just normal SLC trains? We've already seen the KumbaK trains onsite.
  17. There's another reason flying trains wouldn't work, other than the forces riders would experience. The Vekoma Flying Dutchman trains load people on their backs and flip them over after the lift. That would mean major modification to LW. The only flying train that could load under the track would be a B&M flyer but that wouldn't fit on Vekoma track.
  18. Like I said, its just my opinion. I'm not right, or wrong, its just how I see it. And you see it differently.
  19. This park sounds amazing, I'm very excited about it! Especially excited about the Master Blaster, would be great to see another "watercoaster" in Australia. Not to mention the awesome Skycoaster.
  20. Its just an opinion. I just think that Surfrider fits into WnW as it gives the park a small range of "dry" rides (along with Skycoaster and Zipline) to compliment their slides. Seaworld needs a flat ride, not a new coaster, as a new ride. Also, I believe Wet n Wild is more to do with thrill, and the "thrill of surfing" fits more into a Waterpark then a Marine Life Park (Seaworld is NOT a theme park). Just my opinion.
  21. I also agree Flying trains wouldn't work, if you look at the design of a B&M flyer or a Vekoma Flying Dutchman, the layout is very different to an SLC.
  22. Im glad surfrider went to Wet n Wild instead of Seaworld, its a great addition to WnW and really fits into the park. It would just seem a bit out of place in SW imo.
