  1. Maybe the fire will reach the park and, like a phoenix out of ashes, a decent park will rise? Just kidding. Glad to hear no property has reported to be damaged.
  2. Thanks, feral youths of Australia, for not letting us down.
  3. So happy with this, Adventure World have really outdone themselves with this and put some of the Gold Coast parks to shame tbh.
  4. Looks like it has some nasty headbanging like Saw. Oh well, I still liked Saw a lot so I'll still like this, but I was hoping it'd be a bit smoother :/
  5. Awesome photo, really shows the compactness compared to Saw.
  6. I like Powersurges very much, but looks like I was right not to expect anything special from Luna Park yet again. This is hardly a new ride considering it's at the park every year (since 2010ish if I'm correct)?
  7. Yes but TOT used a simple layout. If Australia were to get the fastest coaster in the world now it would have to beat 240kph, and that would either mean a really large and expensive layout like Formula Rossa or an impossibly tall version of TOT.
  8. I actually laughed out loud when I saw this on TV this morning. The day Australia gets the fastest ride on the planet is the day flying hellpigs freeze over.
  9. Jeez that was a bit of stretch wasn't it - it won't even be Seaworld's best coaster! If it's anything like Poseidon at Europa Park (which it is, except shorter) it'll be a fun, but pretty average, family coaster with a decent splashdown. At least that's my experience from riding Poseidon last month.
  10. Saw the Ride supposedly pushes 1000 pph with 8 trains, so assuming the ride time is the same I suppose that means we can expect 4 or 5 trains (1000/8 = 125, 600/125 = 4.8) on Abyss to achieve 600 pph.
  11. I understand why it was said in the campaign, and I understand why our parks aren't as big as some of the ones I mentioned. I was simply explaining why I reacted to the statement by laughing. No hard feelings to anyone.
  12. Perhaps I'm being too harsh. But you have to admit there are a lot of parks around the world that top, say, Movieworld. Don't get me wrong, I do like Movieworld. But it's hardly a world class park, let alone "amongst the very best in the world". Claiming that parks like Movieworld and Dreamworld are "amongst the best in the world" implies they rival the likes of the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, Europa Park and Cedar point, and we all know that's not true.
  13. "Our theme parks rank among the very best in the world" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. With that out of the way, this sounds like a bit of a waste of government money to me considering the Gold Coast is already one of Australia's most visited locations, and everybody is aware that the largest parks in the country are located there. Though it is nice to see the state government endorsing the parks.
  14. To be honest the last time I visited I struggled to fill 4 hours at Seaworld, which included seeing the dolphin show, most animal exhibits and 5 laps on Jet Rescue. You should be fine.
  15. Not really. As good as a Eurofighter is, it's not exactly an "omfg amazing world class attraction", and its also quite low cost. The only coaster we have at the moment that challenges overseas coasters is Superman Escape, which was recently voted amongst the top 20 steel coasters in the world by the Mitch Hawker Coaster Poll. I don't think any Eurofighters even made the top 50 this year.
  16. I like the placement of it in the middle of superman since I've always felt that's a good spot for a ride. However, I'd much rather a standard 60m Starflyer than this... thing. It's too big, it'd potentially be an eyesore and would dwarf everything in the park in a negative way.
  17. Let's say I just hope its not a cobra roll. Gerstlauer have only included a cobra roll on Huracan and that ride turned out pretty badly, and the element looked awkward and supposedly gives a lot of headbanging. I really think this will be an immelman, especially since there's still a chance this is a clone or near clone of Saw. According to RCDB this coaster will only have a cobra roll and inline twist, which would make the cobra roll the only outdoor inversions. This seems unlikely to me.
  18. I really don't know where RCDB got that info from. For some reason I highly doubt this will be a cobra roll.
  19. We all know the cause of the accident, they just probably need to please a few official inspectors and get through some red tape before everything's operational again. Clearly neither Six Flags or RMC are phased considering 2 new RMC coasters were announced for 2 Six Flags parks. Though it'll be interesting to see if either of them run Gerstlauer trains.
  20. I love how Adventure World are actually marketing this. Village Roadshow should take note.
  21. I really do think this'll be the best of the wingriders thus far. Looks much better than Gatekeeper or Wild Eagle.
  22. The new restraints are actually extremely nonrestrictive. They're basically lap bars. The bars that come down above the rider dont actually touch the rider's body, allowing a lot of freedom. And I suppose RT is a bit of a nostalgic loss and it definitely didn't need to be removed to make room for the drop tower, but I think it was reaching the end of its life anyway and was definitely dropping in popularity.
  23. Is Rolling Thunder really any sort of loss? Also I had no idea that Dreamworld patented the design for drop towers. Thanks for informing me of that, Six Flags should be ashamed of their blatant and heinous plagiarism. (Note the sarcasm, please.)
