  1. A German coaster discussion forum has started discussing Adventure World's coaster. One member posted pictures from the Gerstlauer factory and seem to think that the track in the pictures is heading to Adventure World. At the very least we can see an orange Hapag Lloyd in the background of one picture just like the one in Adventure World's photo. Source: http://www.coasterfriends.de/forum/coasterfriends-insider-1/newscenter-park-und-coaster-news-park-talk-5/weltweite-news-asien-und-mehr-69/6157-2013-neuheit-eurofighter-gerstlauer-adventure-world-australien.html Surprised nobody has posted these pictures on here yet. Kind of worrying when a German coaster forum knows more about a new attraction in an Australian park than we do
  2. I hate to say this, but honestly if Dreamworld really were to close down the only thing I'd miss would the Giant Drop.
  3. I visited Oakwood last year and the area around Speed is much nicer now with more grass and landscaping, so yes it was just an early photo. But I agree, I think its unrealistic to expect a ton of immersive theming and I'd much rather a good thrill ride with a simple but nicely presented area.
  4. I highly doubt it considering the number of new attractions they've been adding lately. They don't exactly seem tight on cash.
  5. Most Eurofighters are built on a flat plot, doesn't necessarily mean its the standard 320 version. Also I'm pretty sure the other three 320 models around the world cost a lot less than $12 million - even if you accounted for shipping costs to Australia.
  6. I admit I've been speculating pretty wildly and for that I'm sorry. I'm just extremely excited about Australia getting a new coaster and I'm just trying to figure out anything I can with out it, which is admittedly useless so far due to the lack of details found. I'll stop. At least until the next update haha
  7. Forgot about Zierer. They've started making some great coasters lately, specifically Verbolten at Busch Gardens.
  8. Well I'd expect using a German company means that they're more than likely being shipped from a German factory, which at least gives credibility to the Gerstlauer theory (although Mack Rides and Maurer Sohne are also German). Although it could just as easily be from B and M or Intamin, as they may use a German company to ship from Switzerland? I'm not sure if the origin of the shipping company gives and indication to the ride manufacturer but at least it eliminates S&S Power, RMC, GCI and Gravity Group.
  9. http://www.travelchannel.com/interests/family/photos/worlds-coolest-roller-coastersSorry ;)Robb's always been a fan of Superman Escape, even saying it's his second favourite Intamin launched coaster after iSpeed (which also made the list). It's definitely a great coaster though, as seen by its #21 ranking on the Mitch Hawker poll this year.
  10. Honestly there's only one park worth going to in India and it's this one. - http://rcdb.com/11296.htm Mainly because of the B&M Floorless under construction. That's right, a park in Mumbai is getting a B&M. What's your excuse now, Australia?* But yeah, unless you're hellbent on going to Chennai and visiting a family theme park, I wouldn't lose sleep over skipping it. *This is a joke. I'm aware that India has a much larger population than Australia and therefore the park would get more customers.)
  11. You realise those are just copied and pasted photos of Goliath at La Ronde and Storm Runner at Hersheypark? I highly doubt this park will ever have something like that.
  12. Adventure world posted a time lapse video of construction. However it seems pretty pointless considering nothing is happening and its being filmed from a great distance. However, what interests me is the cloaked figure at the end that comes into view and stands there for a while before walking off. I mean, what the hell was that? Now I'm probably wrong and this theory is extremely far fetched, but could that be part of a hint at a theme or even part of a viral marketing campaign? I doubt it, considering Australian parks never really put any effort into marketing let alone viral marketing. Not to mention the fact that the video only has 150 views, making the marketing ploy fairly useless, but it's definitely something worth thinking about.
  13. I'd say the most effective use of space for theming would be using the lift hill as the dark ride portion.
  14. Actually now that I can see the $12 million tag confirmed I'm getting pretty excited. I thought of a eurofighter too, for some reason, which would be awesome as I love eurofighters and Gerstlauer have been making some crazy ones lately - see The Smiler at Alton Towers.
  15. I'm a bit excited about this but I don't want to get my hopes up too high as I'm not sure what Perth's definition for "world class" is. Definitely looks like footers being put in though, which means it'll hopefully be a coaster and hopefully it'll be a decent one. I'd be pretty pissed if it turned out to be a second hand SLC
  16. Looks like it's definitely Mack's full water coaster model and not the supersplash model, which is little more than a log flume with a very short backwards coaster drop. Awesome
  17. Though to me it looks more like an exhibit, I doubt they'd start marketing a new exhibit this early.
  18. I think you posted exactly what everyone is thinking. I really feel for the PR person managing the page though, clearly trying to come up with a "stock standard" PR reply to try keep you happy haha. Shame it made them come across as condescending.
  19. As great as Batman clones are, Australia does not need yet another cloned ride. Though I suppose the GP wouldn't know any different.
  20. Didn't feel it was necessary to make a whole new thread about it so I thought I'd post here. Superman Escape was on enough ballots to make it on the Mitch Hawker Poll for the first time in a few years. Nice to see it placed a very respectable #21 in the world! That makes it the highest rated Intamin Accelerator, with it surprisingly placing 9 spots above Storm Runner.
  21. According to RCDB Whirlwind has been bought by Skyline Park in Germany. So no spinner for us.
  22. I'm not going to try get all "mean" (because pushbutton would just be horrified by that) but I highly doubt what the person told you is legitimate if they told you to keep it a secret. If a staff member had a legitimate piece of information on a future attraction I highly doubt they'd tell a member of the public and then tell them to keep it a secret.
