  1. Wait, what just happened? I posted my opinion, without directing anything at anyone, and that offended him? wut.
  2. Honestly I don't mind the sarcasm on this site. I haven't been offended by it, usually its pretty funny. I can say that this forum is a hell of a lot better than other sites as far as nastiness goes. At least Parkz doesn't have overloard dickhead moderators like some sites *COUGH* Themeparkreview *COUGH*
  3. I think a Megalite would be harder to market than a woodie. Megalites are fairly small, short and not incredibly fast. They have no inversions. The only thing that have going for them is that they are completely, utterly awesome, but the general public wouldn't know that. Meanwhile, a large wooden coaster could be marketed as the tallest woodie in the Southern Hemisphere (granted, it would have to be higher than Montezum's 42m) and if it were an RMC inverter, even better. Anyway, all of this is a pipe dream. Dreamworld's next coaster will more than likely be something compact, cheap but somewhat impressive looking, like Buzzsaw. Also, I probably should've realised that Outlaw Run's $10 million would be inflated by the extra costs required to build something like that here.
  4. I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me if this post is a bit off topic to what everyone is talking about right now. I believe if Dreamworld were to get a woodie it would have to be gimmicky so they could market it as being unique. I think an inverting RMC woodie would fit this perfectly. Outlaw Run only cost $10 million to build, which is somewhat within Dreamworld's spending range (Buzzsaw was $8 million, if I remember correctly). This isn't me speculating as I know it probably would never happen, but it would be nice if it became a possibility in the next few years.
  5. I haven't opened this thread for quite some time. What the actual hell is going on here? lmao
  6. $15 million... that could get us a nice B&M Well, barely.
  7. ^ Same, I'm going to LA in September so it'd be nice to hear an up to date trip report. Go ahead, Linus
  8. Movieworld seems to be the only park open today. But honestly, who would be down there?
  9. Well I guess everyone has their own opinions I suppose living within 2 hours of the Gold Coast I take it somewhat for granted.
  10. If you think the Gold Coast is the best place in the world then you probably haven't been to many places
  11. B&M are getting really adventurous with their flyer coasters, just check out Starry Sky Ripper at Joyland, China. It's much smaller than Tatsu, but from what I've heard it's just as insane. A standup would never happen, that gimmick died out in the 90's.
  12. Are you only just finding out about this? It opened 2 years ago. TPR did a trip there last year, the park has an awesome looking B&M Flying Coaster.
  13. What I mean is they have used the wrong unit of measurement in the statistics. Specifically, on their Lex Luthor Drop of Doom post (Ill ignore the fact that its not even a coaster) they said "freefalling at 80kph" when in reality it drops at 80mph and therefore 130kph. They changed the description after a ton of people corrected them.
  14. What I'm wondering is how they manage to get at least one fact or statistic wrong in each post, wether it's saying 100mph instead of 100kph or getting the name of the park wrong. If they made the effort to actually make decent posts I'd think it's a cool segment. Also I seriously doubt it's market research. The general public like anything large and fast with inversions, it's as simple as that.
  15. I honestly think Cyclone will be the next to go. It's unpopular, it seems to break down frequently (especially during rain, been stuck on the lifthill three times) and has poor capacity, though then again so do all of Dreamworld's coasters. Who knows what would replace that? Probably an extension to WWW, though a new coaster in that spot would be great, it'd be a decent amount of free space so they could easily fit a kickass new coaster there.
  16. An indoor Eurofighter would be incredible. Just look at Dollywood's Mystery Mine.
  17. To be honest, I take most things said on Theme Park Facebook pages with a pinch of salt. The people who maintain those pages are most likely janitors or ride ops or some other minor members of staff (at least this is what I seem to have gathered from Movieworld's page and their painfully misinformed Coaster of the Week posts). And yeah, I'd heard reports of Whirlwind being rough before closing, so it's not in the best condition. I agree that if Australia got Knightmare that'd be excellent since the old Schwarzkopf Jet Star in Adventure World was removed.
  18. I doubt it'd be Luna Park - they'd never do something that cool lol I'd love for it to be Aussie World, a new family coaster like that is exactly what the park needs. I've ridden a Maurer Spinner (Sonic Spinball at Alton Towers) and although Gerstlauer Spinners are IMO better, the Maurers are still fun rides and I'd love for us to have one here.
  19. Why are we arguing this when there is a poster that says "Coming Spring 2013"? EDIT: Beat me to it Original.
  20. Hollywood Dream at Universal Studios Japan comes to mind...
  21. So just because Batwing is mediocre you assume if Movieworld built another flat ride it would suck? Wat. I'd like to see a flat ride, but I'd rather see a second dark ride. One day I'd also love to see a woodie built, possibly in the area behind Arkham Asylum as part of the Wild West area. Of course that would mean removing the Looney Tunes soundstage so it's probably just a pipe dream.
  22. The girl was rescued and is in a stable condition, according to the news.
  23. Storm Rider is the name of a simulator at Tokyo Disneysea and it follows a similar idea, so the ride could be named Storm Rider. And Storm Chaser could be suitable. You could be chasing a storm until it unexpectedly intensifies and/or changes route, getting you caught in it with disastrous results.
  24. I'm just excited that it seems that Seaworld is getting THREE new attractions over the next 2 years. Not sure how gorillas are relevant. Ah who cares.
