Ardent to shrink Dreamworld footprint

It would be possible to change the grade and curve but with the new coaster going here that won't be happening. You'd need to start the regrade all the way back at corroboree station just to ensure the train wouldn't stall on the curve. I know the right-hand curve after the shed is tight and yes it does go up a grade but that section is not as steep because you've already have gone through the steep section, from the back of the shed to the points at the front. Reason the train and make it into the shed where the grade is higher is due to the fact the train is unloaded. I also noted on a visit the train ran slow in several sections. This might be due to the imposter having weight issues, the load is not evenly distributed from the main driving wheels to the front wheels (pony wheels, yes it is a real name). Going back to the coaster, it means if you change the grade for the train you gotta change the height for the coaster. -
Fully6 - WhiteWater World's new slide tower
StingRay replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Polin slides are popular in Australia thanks to Swimplex Aquatics (Australian providers). They helped with the construction of a new water park in Sydney 1/2 years ago and recently an expansion of that park. The slides are a little cheaper but the build quality is still high. They use a lot of translucent sections on some parts. Swimplex is from Coffs Harbour, so it won't be a big journey for the crew anyway. Hopefully, soon we see the tower construction start. -

Fully6 - WhiteWater World's new slide tower

Go to Manly waterworks in Sydney (if it is still operating). It's like the old Action Park over in the states. NO rules. -
I think I have lost the point. I'll put this down to being severely overtired with a sick child. Apologies.
-
I know no one has said outright they where stupid. It's my own wording to my own wording. I get why some would not agree with my ideas and I respect that.
-
It wouldn't be a complete brand new restaurant or something. But I've already been proven its a stupid idea anyway. The WNW "splash cash" bands are alright. The former park in Sydney tho had a much more superior system. Shame GC never got it.
-
I completely get that. Many water parks have lockers spread out with change facilities etc. Maybe it is just a struggle on the GC?.
-
I don't play that game. Got more important things to do. Maybe to some the locker idea is not a good one. But a thought never hurt too much. I just think allowing for lockers to be spread out helps the park. Considering they are jammed into a small area. 100% more attractions would move the crowds. Have some decent family raft slides in this area along with a big stand-alone thrill ride and this area wouldn't be as bad.
-
Because the back of the park is dead. Not many people venture past the wave pool honestly. You need to encourage people into different sections of the park. Having lockers spread out would not be a bad idea unless you don't like walking around, then you are in the wrong place. Plus having a few extra lockers would make more money during the peak times. More money spent in any park is never a negative thing. I know lockers and food go like loose items in a locker but I think having them moved away from each other a little will help with the flow of people also. Especially at a water park where people just crowd around the lockers/changeroom area especially at this park. Just my personal views.
-
true, add more lockers then to the back of the park. That solves that issue. With a small retail outlet, you allow that to do splash cash deposits and refunds also. why not aye.
-
The joint needs a few major attractions. Tornado wave, Tantrum alley would be a good start. Both can have ride photos meaning more cash. Something like a master blaster etc would be great also. Water parks do not get the hourly ridership like the dry parks. Aqua racers come close and that's about it. So queues are always going to occur. I think surf rider needs to go, however. Sure it's on a small footprint but man it hardly seems to run (i usually visit winter these days and understand its a seasonal ride ). Something like a drop tower could be a good alternative in my eyes. Flow rider should be all year round but with limited hours during winter. Sky coaster, meh this one is hard. If it is not popular then it needs to go. I know crewing these can be a nightmare because they are speciality trained staff. The H2O zone needs to be revamped or torn down. Have some body slides and chuck in a tower here with two or three main star attractions. It gives people a reason to walk to the back of the park also. Make another small food out to service this area also. The old WNW Buggy area can be transformed into a newer version of the whirlpool springs area Only utilising the front park, not the part that goes further into the bushland. Removing the older one and simply turn it into a seating area or a small shop to purchase towels, sunscreen etc.

Road Runner is fine. Its a great kids coaster ( kids being the keyword here). removing it would be a shame. It is themed really well and has a kick-ass run and includes a ride photo. Capacity became an issue once the seat belts were installed but this was required due to the stopping power that brake has at the end of the run. A little rattle shouldn't mean its gotta be removed. Rivals has a rattle also 😲. Better remove it.

LTRR ain't coming back. I know people want it to but it won't be. Sure nostalgia is great but the way I see it justice league is good for small kids also. Just look at the height requirement. I know this might shock some people but a theme park gets more money from my wallet having a kid than it would an enthusiast. So that being said the park needs to try to do the right thing and look after all age groups. Not just the 10-year-olds and up.
-
Because you need to give the little kids something. I know most here do not have children but you really need kids to have an area where they feel welcomed and wanted. Sure, get another dark ride but not at the expense of the kid's area. I'm sorry but personally, that would be a bad move. Some new flat rides (look at SeaWorld) and some TLC in the current area would be enough to jazz that area up. It would also help the flow of people down within this area of the park if it was redesigned a little as a one way in and out. Not a ring road path. Make proper facilities for special needs children also. Not just a former ride building that honestly has seen better days.
-
The park does not need another dark ride aimed at families. It needs more child based rides. Its a shame SW got the right idea with a kids world area yet MW seems to be lacking. Having said that driving school is good because it is a crowd soaker and also can have high capacity.
-
Maybe with the Spider, you might have some difficulties. That ride a few years ago underwent seat modifications so instead of being a bench seat its more like a coaster style bucket seat. Rotor they just might ask you to stand to the right of the entry door is the operator is on the ball. This is to assist with balancing. Ranger, well this one is different for all due to the lap bar that is used that presses onto one's stomach region. Hair raiser does have a weight limit, so be warned. The limit can be found on the website. That about does it for the ones to look out for. As for everything else you shouldn't have a problem.

Just keep doing google searches. Someone might have a small personal website maybe. Or try the local archives at the library. -
Dreamworld Update - 3rd of August
StingRay replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
100%. I know when I said the place can turn it around some people might have been a little meh at first. The evidence is in front of us all. Greg was one of the best things that have happened to the park in management for a while. -
Dreamworld Update - 3rd of August

It all starts with the little things. A lick of paint, some polishing. Make the park look loved again. Then people spread the word. Then eventually we hear about the parks future visions and we watch them unfold. I cannot wait to see how the future pans out for the park. They finally have the right management team. Not a bunch of amateurs anymore. Onwards and upwards. -
