Oops sorry, I wasn't trying to troll. I do live up in QLD now, but I swear they were still working on the new area when I was in Sydney last December. Must have my years mixed up! By boardwalk I meant the area where the IMAX/Home nightclub/restaurants are, from memory Sega was on the other side down towards the Ent Centre. Yeah, you're right there isn't much left, I wonder where else would be a tourist-y enough area to have a park, though. Or what sort of size they are after. Given Western Sydney is getting a Wet N Wild, maybe there will be a location that's more suitable out that way.

This would be awesome.. I think it would really do well, although the location might be a make or break factor, seeing as though SegaWorld died even though it was in the prime Darling Harbour district (although it was a fair way back from the boardwalk area where most restaurant/shops are. Yet the Aquarium survives and it's even further away, though somewhat of a tourist icon. They are redeveloping the Harbour area behind the IMAX where SegaWorld was, with a massive new play area, park, kids fountains and shops, so perhaps there's something on the cards although from the sounds of the article, not to happen for quite a few years. Either way I'm pretty pumped for it!

This was what I had in mind (not the discussing of ride stats bit).. Do you reckon we can pull it off?

The more I read the more I feel it does enhance the ride pretty significantly, but it definitely doesn't make or break GL. I might be wrong but I think the on-ride audio is taken from the film's soundtrack by James Newton Howard. I had a quick look on itunes but in a busy cafe with no headphones (sad) so can't really hear which track is most like the ride music. Pretty much if you've heard the music in the first section of the queue line where the Parallax is, you can get the idea of the on-ride audio. edit: if you preview the tracks in itunes the songs most like it are probably Drone Dogfight & the Induction Process.

Great, so let's throw around some dates and see when everyone's available. Here's some proposed dates that suit me: --> Sat 9th June --> Sat 23rd June (school hols so would be busy) --> Mon 25th June (school hols also) --> Mon 16th July I'm happy to go in the holidays as the park has a much better atmosphere when it's full and am happy to patiently wait in line as long as there's people to chat to. See if any of these dates are a viable option, or suggest your own, I'm flexible with days. Dale.

Noob question, & I know you're only joking here, but who is this Dippin Dots guy? Only ask because some relatives of mine own a dippin dots franchise in Brisbane, but fairly sure it's not them hahahaha! Also, does anyone know what the capacity of the GL coaster is per hour?

I've had audio 50% of the time, but I think it only improves the lift hill and first drop part of the ride, otherwise you are too busy yelling to notice. I guess it adds to your subconscious experience of the ride, but in my opinion GL was just as good without audio. If anything, the ride is more serious & scary without it.
