  1. There aren't any fire effects yet, however there are geysers. So, I finally venture into Sea World alone yesterday: I don't know how you guys do it, it is such an awkward experience alone in my opinion. I quickly made my way to the ride area to find that every single ride was suffering some sort of technical delay or another, with the Storm's opening still unclear. I sat and waited and by 10:30 Sea Viper, Jet Rescue and Viking's Revenge were all open. However, my only reason of going was to ride the Storm Coaster and after riding Jet Rescue and Sea Viper (no interest in Viking's again) I had nothing to do so I just stood awkwardly at one of the supports and waited. It had opened by 11:30ish to the delight of hundreds of people, who were all puzzled as to why the park hadn't decided to test the rides before the park opened - they had a good point. I was positioned at the back of the boat with another single rider who unfortunately and embarrassingly was too large to ride (He did carry most of his weight in the lower part of his stomach, however it never phased me that he wouldn't be able to fit, so watch out if you don't want to be embarrassed). The configuration of people on my boat was 2-1(LHS)-2-1(LHS) so the boat had a considerable lean to the left. The splashdown was completely shocking, I knew being at the back I would cop most of the wave but I didn't realise it would soak me to the point of it looking I had just jumped in a pool fully clothed (I was embarrassed to say the least). Overall, excellent theming for the small parts it has - it definitely creates an eery feeling. Whilst it is considerably shorter than Bermuda, it is a completely different experience that I think I like better. 4.5/5
  2. If that's supposed to be 'little known' it's not that big of a secret.
  3. I'm in GC from wednesday to saturday - do you mind sharing the details for this 'secret' as I can only go on the Saturday morning and I'm betting it will be packed. Surely letting this forum know won't lead to a dramatic influx of guests getting inside quickly.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised with all the posts regarding 'Plunge,' which is the Pirates Revenge with a shitty shed attached.
  5. Well my family is booked in for 18th to 21st, so I'll go on it then, I can't wait! And I'm praying the fire effects will be working.
  6. I might fly up one day next week to see it, having parents in the airline industry helps
  7. The difference is minimal and you know it is a similar concept.
  8. When I went to dubai this year I went to Aquaventure (Waterpark owned by Atlantis) and it was fantastic. You get a tube from the lazy river and go on conveyer belts up to the slides, it creates no lines whatsoever. They have an action lazy river also that surrounds the entire park - incredibly fun. So yes, they have been done before and they are bloody good.
  9. So glad I'm going to Gold Coast in the coming weeks, can't wait to ride.
  10. Victorian private schools finish mid to late next week if anyone was interested, it is pretty common for people from these schools to beat the crowds and go on holidays then - I know I do.
  11. They are putting in a light and water show using the slides in the park for night, but otherwise I'm surprised.
  12. It could be, it was on nearly every night... I couldn't agree more with it being a dull show this year, the people towards the end (apart from Boog) were very uninteresting. I even watched the final of Ja'mie... I have to say though Ja'mie is a far better show and I'm definitely glad it's simulcast in the US and UK
  13. The launch of this coaster, correct me if I'm wrong, would have to be the best in Australia wouldn't it? That Chosen Ones video is very impressive, love the fire and firework elements.
  14. going off what Wync said when he got the job, I'd say that sounds about right. I'm still surprised he wasn't hired the first time to be honest!
  15. Just a question, do they hire anyone under 18? No, I'm not looking at getting a job there, I'm in Melbourne, just wondering that's all.
  16. New Zamperla ride, it does look like a powersurge from this angle and looking at their other ride lineups that's the only ride it could be.
  17. The world's fastest roller coaster currently is in Abu Dhabi, I don't think we're going to have a problem with wheels overheating.
  18. I didn't know Orlando was on the west coast You could've been a little more sensitive to the situation, AlexB. You don't just go around calling someone disabled just because they wanted the opinions of forum members, he did also look at Google Maps...
  19. It wasn't your obligation to go onto Google Maps, Gazza.
  20. I got that ticket when I went and it was great, I know you'll want to be able to go over to DCA during the night or vice versa. Not getting park hopper is restricting your park use, you'll find it necessary when you get it.
  21. Write to the source of the article expressing the truth behind it, it generally works re Herald Sun although I'm sure this article isn't as heavily circulated as those in the Herald Sun, Age etc
  22. maybe they're using a new technology or something (doubt it)
