  1. As mentioned above, if this gate is such an inconvenience as to make guests risk their own safety jumping over it, then it needs to be removed. It's like a duty of care to guests, and a lawsuit waiting to happen (we know how petty some people are). if not remove just build a bigger obstruction.
  2. I've also been on the Aqua loop at GC and I'm quite lean and I still get weighed so don't feel "targeted". Just part of the safety process. I don't think anyone but the lifeguard could see the scale reading from memory
  3. Agreed ^ Having visit dreamworld recently after many years I was expecting alot worse given the hype I've read on this forum. My expectations were exceeded, Dreamworld has a wide range of attractions, animals, events, a high level of clealiness and detail inside shops and rides, and very friendly staff. Well done Dreamworld.
  4. I believe your referring to Hagrid ^ Good to see its testing, can't be too long now.
  5. ^ i don't think the actors were going home, more likely having a break.
  6. They're both live shows, they have them on the posters I've seen around and both state so underneath. I also agree Jake Thrupp could do with a can of enthusiasm
  7. I have seen a short commercial specifically for fright nights, it had a mixture of scary things alike one of the fright night youtube videos, and the same goblin guy seen on the VIP add, it says something like "Movie World fright nights.. When darkness falls" right at the end, and cuts to black. Effective IMO
  8. I'm sure they would, but I'm also sure they would make alot of sales.. You win some you loose some. I, along with the majority would just walk down the stairs and grab my money if I saw something I liked. It's less than 20 meters there and back.
  9. They have splash cash already at Wet n Wild on the Gold Coast and it works well, I've used it a few times. If you purchase a locker with the band, you scan your band to gain entry throughout the day. No idea why it isn't available at Movie World, possibly because it would allow people to "limit" their spending, and no business wants that.
  10. ^ it happens alot, you did the mature thing and walked away. Now I finally understand your username.
  11. ^ if you read it again, I think he ment they're a business partner for the future, not just to give away tickets for launch. Does that mean that 2DayFM will be playing at the Wave Pool?
  12. Wet and wild check eskis and cooler bags and remove any glass from previous experience
  13. You could relate it to 1955, but this is 2013. Apps have been around for years and I'm simply quoting they could have added few more features, quite easily.. And this is an app not a business.. There's not much to stop the average person clicking delete. I wasn't starting a debate, I was speaking my thoughts on it, there's nothing to correct.
  14. It's about time, and in my opinion it could be alot better. It's not a bad little app, but there was so much more room for potential in a Theme park application (I know there will be updates, but it's a first impression)
  15. ^ You circled Rick's cafè not the locker sheds, they are adjacent to Rick's
  16. Regardless it still fits the theme of a movie park which is what it is and this discussion is stupid
  17. Nice photos! What kind of ride do you think will go in that framework in the bottom picture? Looks interesting
  18. I think he meant bad design, not bad photoshop skills (he's referencing it to the designer of this image at DW who had poor imagination with photoshop and design) Yes, they could have done a lot more and it is very "stock" looking but then again it's just a teaser image, it's not ment to give much away. I'm sure the promo images will be alot better, or atleast I hope so anyway. From a graphic design point of view, this image is a background color with a few touches, some brushes, text, text effects, gradients and glows/shadows. Trainee stuff, could be alot worse. He/she did a good job for what it is. On topic.. I hate laser tags, I'm not interested if its just a revamp
  19. In addition to that neatly worded response on DW's behalf, I think we forget the range of wildlife available at Dreamworld which will continue to bring revenue and visitors from tourists and many other income sources like Big Brother and school groups (they have a neat education plan for school kids, aswell as those one day visits at the end of the year) Basically, they each have their own qualitys as pointed out in that comment.
  20. Great to see photo evidence. ^ fairly sure that section your seeing is the old maintenance bay for the LTRR cars (which was attached to the building, its now used for other purposes such as GL (Could be wrong, don't know the location of the photo in the building)
  21. As above, it's an attraction not a ride. And going by the image a few others in the AVPX closure thread discussed a zombie theme maze for the replacement, they could be on to something. Glad it's been announced (announced first on the 27 march on their Facebook) and they aren't just letting the building sit (presuming it is replacing AVPX)
  22. It would be costly and it wouldn't be hard either, I'm sure it'd be easier than demolishing Bermuda. But the venue has alot of park value considering the the versatility and use they got from it currently being set up with all the seating lighting gadgets etc. I'm sure they'll find a good use for it eventually but others on the forum suggesting to remove it and replace for a fairly small ride seems pointless to me.
  23. Most or all indoor rides are in soundstages, including scooby, justice league and the new demolished LTRR.. I don't think anyone doubted that, but this particular "sound stage" has been setup to be a "show stage", with the seating and lighting and control box and stage, this has been brought up in previous threads but the cost of removing all that to put in a ride probably shows more cons than pros in the matter.. (I think that's the point ninja was trying to make by saying they won't put a ride in a "show" stage) It still is a versatile venue (clearly) having run mazes and shows (TV shows included) since the western town showdown began around park opening.. Just needs the effort put back into it at the standards of Maverick for example
  24. Agree, if they don't do something soon I see the park closing in the near future. It would be hard to compete with VRTP
  25. If that's the evidence you have for a new show its not much to go off, sign could have been removed as people would wait there for a show that was in a different location? From memory the sign wasn't ever removed it was just covered with the maze banner, untill now. I do feel a new show is in order though, it's getting tacky now.
