  1. Being that they haven't even removed the tree I'm going to bet on it being something insurance related. Possibly waiting for a claim etc for the cleanup/repair due to the attraction damage. Maybe they've been speculating on the reopening expecting that a claim would have been finalised already?
  2. Not Nearmap related exactly, but it appears as though Google has newer maps loaded of our Parks (finally!) MW: DC Rivals is there, AA removed but still a dirtbowl. DW: No more TRRR/ToT/Log Ride. Steel Taipan there now. SW: Atlantis shown, Vikings Revenge still there though.
  3. What about those 4 slides on the left of the park between the Aqua Racers/Constrictor? I thought they were original slides? I remember the Mammoth Falls Plunge. Was not a fan considering I didn't like coasters and was not expecting a coaster like sensation.
  4. Might be some parts are only replaced if they are necessary, and they don't fully know what needs replacing until they do the pull-down. I would expect though that by now someone would have a fairly good idea what needs to be replaced on Superman every year, being its been operating for almost 20 years. If they're really penny pinching at the park, maybe they just don't hold these kinds of items in stock any more? RE: the longer downtimes, maybe they've been burnt too many times in the past by unknowns and then had to deal with disappointed guests by blowing past their return-to-service dates? Underpromise/Overdeliver etc.
  5. This was the taste left in my mouth after our visit to USC. Felt like everything was a sim. Its interesting though how US/Disney have kind of flipped though with the new line up of attractions with US putting in more coasters and Disney more simulators/self tracked installs. After reading your post though it seems we missed a couple of attractions, ET, Mummy (was closed at the time I think), Villan Con, Bourne. We conciously skipped Supercharged being it was a yawn fest at USC. RRR was rough for us too, closed for the morning but opened in the afternoon. I selected Kick Start My Heart - Motley Crue, I think that made up for the roughness
  6. Iron Gwazi was the first RMC I'd ridden so I really have nothing to compare it to tbh. The restraints uncomfortable for me so this took away a lot of the experience I think, better than the comfort collars on Ice Breaker/Tigris though. Ops were slow and I remember the grouper being cranky because noone wanted to ride in a middle seat The coaster was fun and intense (a little overhyped for me though, however I was probably a little coastered out by the time I rode, and unwell). Overall I prefered Velocicoaster, after considering the theming/restraints being comfortable etc.
  7. I agree with Guest, you've travelled about 20 hours to get there, might as well make the most of it. We had 14 days in Orlando in 2022. 1 day for each Disney Park. Even with G+ and Lightening Lanes our days in Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom felt rushed and we didn't really have a chance to absorb the atmosphere. Missed the opening of Guardians by a week so maybe that will make Epcot a busier day too? 5 shorter days in USO/IoA due to a ticket promo they had at the time. Could probably have made it work with 1 day each park I think, maybe 2 for IoA due to the long lines for Hagrid's. 1 day at Busch Gardens. We hired a car and drove down to Tampa, the bus times were a bit late to leave and a bit early to return for us. No quick queue, didn't ride every thing; ops were slow and I wasn't feeling well (turns out I was +ve for COVID at the time). Next time I would consider buying quick queue. 1 day at SeaWorld. No quick queue, didn't feel rushed but ops were slow. If you're heading over that way the Kennedy Space Center was a day well spent. For us it was the day before coming home, but it would make for a bit of a lazy day if you need one.
  8. I didn't even know it that far along in the construction process
  9. Kinda impressive considering Oceania was only 1.7% of the vote: I'm suprised Steel Vengance is still number 1 after all this time, especially with the likes of Iron Gwazi, Zadra and ArieForce One existing now.
  10. I just dont see this panning out. There'll be individual lap bars like RR/WWF that'll need to be checked and rechecked before dispatch. There'll be storage boxes or lockers and no more taking loose items on the ride. Capacity is going to be worse, not better. Every ride that's had an overhaul is like this now. Safety standards have changed. I hope I'm wrong.
  11. From new display name on page 4 "Wagner Mesh decking on support structure over pool" Looks like the globe will have visible water, but not really under the ride...
  12. It actually looks like there's been a fair bit of activity in Scooby based on the tire marks on that new concrete turn around. A post from TPSN the other day showed a pile driver on site, so it looks like they might have started on the footings for the new coasters:
  13. The storage boxes on JR aren't nearly as big as the Motocoasters revolving shelf. It's really only big enough for phones/hats/sunnies etc. For us we needed a locker for our backpack so we just chucked everything in the locker at the same time. I remember seeing the ride op struggling to slide the cover over and having the fight with bag straps etc.
  14. From that overview it mentions a cougar day yard (bottom right), do they have cougars now or are they foreshadowing them?
  15. Yessssss! I like it, but I hope that's just plonked down for delivery and that proper installation follows, cause those blocks just make it look tacky. Keep this up Dreamworld!
  16. We taking bets yet as to whether you'll still be able to take loose items with you on Scooby 2.0?
  17. Maybe that's a recent change then? We got off Rivals at about 4:45 yesterday and it had the Ride Closed chain across, someone was also manning the entrance to Batwing as we were leaving. Rivals did go down at about 4 (we were already in the queue) but maintenance attended and it reopened in about 30 mins. I've gotta say though my experience at Movie world yesterday was vastly improved to some degree. Ride queue times were frustrating and I agree with webslave in that there's still no sense of urgency from ride ops. The park itself however looks better than I remember it from our visit 12 months ago. Rivals queue has had some mulch and extra fencing installed to help the plants not get picked by bored guests. Superman has new working screens in the queue, and it felt like the A/C was actually working in the queue too. We went to like up for West but the queue was at the entry door, so we gave that a miss (we can't stand listening to that 10 sec music on loop)
  18. According to the website, only Lantern (and obv. Scooby) are planned outages. SE has only been down since today and is an unscheduled closure.
  19. I know that while I was VQ'ing for a ride, I wasn't buying anything, I was waiting in another ride queue. I wonder if someone has actually ran the numbers on the backend after it's implementation and realised that VQ didn't translate into additional spend in the park. This is most likely the answer.
  20. For all its faults I remember spending many hours trawling through it's content over the years, even though I only attended Wonderland a couple of times. Chris, thanks for at least keeping the site active after all this time. Looking forward to seeing its transformation when the time comes.
  21. I would expect that the door between load/unload on Superman would need to be integrated much the same as ST's switch track is, would it not? Failure of the door would need to result in the dispatch being halted until it was fixed/bypassed as it's in the ride path.
  22. Looks pretty good to me. Credit to Dreamworld's Golden Years - Past, Present, Future on FB
  23. Making the structure look less neglected and tidying it up. Remember they never even announced Arkham as officially closed, they just started pulling it down after they announced WoO. There's so much evidence pointing to it's removal (or at least never returning to service) and not that much for retaining. Evidence for never returning: - University study on what to do with the track - FB comments from VRTP that said it was permanently closed and later retracted. - Disposal of other monorail trains - Not reopening it after Atlantis construction completed - Removal of components (as above)/ - Adding lighting/electrical into the path of the train Evidence for remaining: - It's still standing - There's still one train left and is still parked in the station - They're doing maintenance on the track itself (painting etc) I'd hope that the monorail is adequately 'locked out' like any other form of machinery undergoing maintenance, and that any maintenance is completed before the lockout can be removed (including re-installation of shrouds).
  24. Visited LPS for the first time today, which is kinda mad considering we only live a couple of hours away. Took a couple of snaps of the Wild Mouse. The cars have been moved back outside and are under covers. There were no pinball machines inside Coney Island, the space where the cars were in a previous photo was just empty. There were a couple of pieces of track behind the fence just outside the Wild Mouse entrance next to the covered up cars.
