  1. Unless they put in another short Intamin accelerator, I fail to see anything else that could be so similar that I would feel cheated for variety in comparison to Superman. They could put in a Stormrunner clone for instance, which is even more similar to SE, but the extra length and those inversions would make it a unique enough experience that I wouldn't be disappointed. A mega lite is pretty damn different to SE. The only similarities are the airtime hills, and who doesn't want more of those?
  2. You people! What is wrong with you? How could you say no to roller coasters? Who's saying we can't get a flat AND a coaster? Or a dark ride AND a coaster? Or a flat AND a dark ride AND a coaster AND a new car park? These things aren't mutually exclusive! I disagree. More roller coasters = More successful parks on the Gold Coast. We have a few coasters already, only some of which I would consider world class. What is the harm in getting a few more? In what way will having more coasters do harm to the parks? I hope you realise you aren't agreeing with ash.1111 there. They said they would "rather one iconic ride (be it a roller coaster, dark ride etc.) than a collection of average flats" (which is what a 'bucket full' of flat rides would be.) If it's a thrill ride you're looking for, another coaster is your best bet, and will destroy the competition of a bunch of flats or a dark ride. Why not? I think we are narrowing the different parks' audiences too much. It's not like the only people who go to SW are families with young kids or the only people who go to DW are hormonal teenagers. The audiences are pretty spread out amongst all of the parks, which makes all of them suitable for more roller coasters. Plenty of people up on the GC are visiting for the rides at other parks, but still like to have a pop in to Sea World as it is. Why not attract more of these people by giving them another good coaster to ride on the day? BOOM! Right on the money. It's okay to rationalise your expectations, but dreaming for something that seems just a bit out of reach is better than settling for some low capacity mediocre and/or shittle coaster. A launched Mack is something that has been mentioned on here before, it would be absolutely perfect if you ask me.
  3. I feel kinda bad because I always end up interrupting them mid-script. They say exactly the same thing every time that even I'm bored of it as a customer.
  4. I'm pretty sure Trevor only comes on here after he's downed a few schooners before suddenly remembering what crazy story the Dippin' Dots guy told him this time.
  5. Naah, it was just getting interesting. We've seen enough similar shots of things on GL to know that they're doing something. Who comes to evacuate you in each area in the event of an E-Stop?
  6. Bang, you've got it. Even though I think they'd still do well off Food/Drink/Merch if the tickets were a little more pricey.
  7. "Either bring the product back to Sea World or Warner Bros. Movie World to get a refund OR safely dispose of the batteries and the figurines and contact Village Roadshow Theme Parks to arrange a full refund of the purchase price paid." - OR just pretend to dispose of them and call VRTP for a full refund. Free LED Figurines!
  8. This is what happens when I go away for a few days and don't check previous pages.
  9. That Orange Submarine/Bus is definitely from Spongebob
  10. Oh God Please! Don't destroy me like this you evil man!
  11. Wow, 2 credits installing over one off peak period. I'm happy.
  12. They can't just not let single riders ride. How will us lonely enthusiasts with no theme park loving friends be able to ride the waterslides?
  13. I know that some other Vekoma SLCs run with 2 trains. Is the block system to run multiple trains already installed on the ride and just not being used, or would they have to install a new system to get 2 trains to work?
  14. I will ride the Giant Drop, but only once per trip up. It really does scare the shit out of me even after riding 4 times separately, whereas for every other ride on the coast I am completely unfazed. I used to think the same for the aqualoop, but that doesn't even get me anymore, maybe I just need to go and ride the GD 6 times in a day or something.
  15. Have you seen this RMC? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk3H2hjpEBw&user=StellarKart66 I don't even know what the heck is going on there. It looks like someone was mucking around in NoLimits and forgot to add roll vertices on their airtime hills but decided that it was cool anyway.
  16. Well I know where I will be avoiding.
  17. Ok, I can see that now. Maybe people aren't as dumb as I thought.
  18. The prices are ridiculously cheap. The parks have dug a hole for themselves. No one realises the value they get in their unlimited/VIP passes and it has just become the standard. You saw this when people blew up on facebook about WnWS's season ticket price. It was still very good value, but the market has just been saturated.
  19. I didn't make this perfectly clear. There's a segment themed to a station that you travel through after leaving the actual coaster station. This is where flickering lights would make sense.
  20. Rendering definitely shows an open funnel, unless some really creative forced perspective has been used! xD Awesome to see there's a proper ride to this before the funnel. There'll be lots of debarkle mid course about who's going to go down the drop backwards. Always a laugh on these rides.
  21. I honestly don't mind that there isn't much theming outside the building. They could definitely do something to spice up the inside of the subway and the queue line though. I think the concrete walls are boring, and the lighting isn't correct. I'd prefer tiled walls and floors in station sections (both the loading station and the stations that you travel through in the dark ride section. I'd love to see those green struts typical of New York subway stations as well. As for lighting, it should be dark like it currently is for the non-station segments, and it should have a sort of yellowy hue in the station areas, perhaps with flickering lights due to the earthquake. The lighting needs some variety, but currently we have a fluorescently lit station, then a dreary dark concrete subway with no lighting effects at all. These upgrades aren't feasable though, the park should just move on to bigger and better things. Superman is still going to be my favourite ride in the country regardless, but after riding Storm for the first time last week and seeing how well they've done the indoor section for that, I've realised how dull Superman's indoor theming is in comparison.
  22. The amount of insight and clarity you've provided is incredible. It feels good to be recognized as enthusiasts, even if we are small in numbers.
  23. I was up just last week, I went to MW for 1 day, SW 1 day. I went back to MW for half a day after having a go at WnW, then another half day at MW the morning before leaving. Crowds were a bit larger than I expected, but at least the parks felt alive. Having talked to a few people on various rides and in various queues, I met quite a lot from WA. I'm not sure if it was just luck of the draw, but certainly it would make sense if they were earlier in their holiday period.
  24. Yeah, there's no way it could stretch more at the top more than it was already stretching at the bottom. If it is weak enough to snap at the top, it would have already snapped at the bottom before the launch.
