  1. I'm fine with it if VR is an option, since I can simply ignore VR and ride the coaster traditionally which I've grown to love, but if VR is compulsory, god help me because I have to put up with a stupid gimmick that ruins literally any roller coaster that isn't indoors. If the short-lived Sega World in Sydney came back from the dead, that would be the perfect match for VR since that park was supposed to be interactive. But MW =/= good idea to use VR.
  2. I've had a look at the photos on this thread and the park is looking very clean and professional! Seems that everything in the park without a theme has now been themed! The park looks radically different from what it looked like in ~2009, when Turbo Mountain and Bountys was still around. Obviously if it looks radically different it means it looks much better!
  3. DW, historically, has a reputation for good theming, since the days of Eureka and Rocky Hollow the theming has been good on literally almost everything. Pre-2015 Cyclone, Wipeout, Tower of Terror (both versions), Giant Drop, Dreamworks (and Nickelodeon before that), Claw, Buzzsaw, and the countless new restaurants and themed areas added since then are some examples where DW got it right on theming (despite 90% of said theming then deteriorating quickly because DW has traditionally done poorly at maintaining theming, then getting an update which endures the same cycle again). This isn't Six Flags.
  4. Had a look at aerial pictures of other Mack coasters as well, I'm ruling out a Blue Fire clone since the cleared land is too narrow for one of those. I also don't think anything with a chain lift will happen either. Granted, the size of the land is enormous compared to Green Lantern or Arkham, but just looking at the cleared land it looks like a launched coaster to me.
  5. Are you sure? Not even The Beast at Kings Island is 8 minutes long. I seriously doubt that the ride time is 8 minutes.
  6. Please, not a Zacspin-type ride, we need something that is decent and is not a poor excuse for a 4th Dimension coaster (or a roller coaster in general). If in the million to 1 chance that MW will get a 4th Dimension coaster, it should be something like X2 or Dinoconda to be considered "world's best"
  7. This is why I don't read News Limited trash, since things like this can occur. Sadly, the fact is that 85% of Australian media is controlled by them, so the GP get too scared to ride things like Smiler which constantly get demonised for little things which aren't anything to write home about (emergency stops or downtime) after a major accident last year.
  8. Six Flags has announced their new rides for 2017: And I'll say, it disappoints me that Six Flags is being lazy and are putting in S&S Free Fly coasters instead of semi-decent rides.
  9. Ah, I thought Maximum impact referred to a large scale thrill ride of sorts, as that's what AW have referred Kraken and Abyss as.
  10. MI stands for (Maximum impact) so I don't think a wave pool/lazy river would fit in that category.
  11. BERMUDA CONFIRMED (Nah, it's not, VRTP do that a lot but it's not a possibility at all for Vikings). Here's hoping a slight refurb. Although, when you think of it, Vikings is going down longer than Wild West Falls has this year, so a refurb is plausible.
  12. A Windseeker? Yeah, I doubt AW would install one, considering the many problems Cedar Fair have had with their Windseekers. A Funtime Star Flyer is a more realistic (and better) option, however as the contract was signed in Europe a Windseeker may be likely. As far as I'm aware all the Windseekers built so far are in North America, and it says Mark tested "four of these attractions across three continents".
  13. Probably either Intamin or Mack at this stage. I can't see a B&M going in and it's more likely going to be the latter.
  14. HUSS Rainbows, while would be great, are too old to be practical for LPS. The original plan for the rebuilt LPS was over 20 years ago and back then you could easily get a HUSS Rainbow new. In 2016, the Rainbow's are difficult to obtain due to being discontinued and most of them are 25+ years old. Like with Tango Train, I think something from a bottom-tier manufacturer, such as SBF Visa would be most likely as replacement.
  15. Yeah, lucky for us @DisneyDoll Togo are long out of business.
  16. Wow, that's a lot of clues for something this early. Assuming this is a dry ride, since we just got Kraken last year. Biggest of its kind, $7.5 million. Hmm, I'd love to see something from Mack, Gerstlauer or an Intamin flat. Agree that Bountys was old, riding it a couple seasons ago it was showing its age. 30 years is a good innings for a Pirate ship, though. Is it going to get repainted from its cheap looking purple?
  17. Without making an angry rant, that ride is my favourite in the entire park by far. Every time I went to LPS, I always always made sure I went on the Ranger first. I did not care whether the restraints were painful, since the stomach crushing experience was an experience in and of itself. Doing that ride without holding on was also an experience I'd never forget. I'll sorely miss that ride when it goes and I will be most certainly returning to LPS to ride it for the last time. At least LPS are moving on with their ride replacement plan, and not removing a ride once every two years. As Ranger was a much loved thrill ride despite its flaws, hopefully its replacement is even better. At least the neighbours will be pissing themselves like excited dogs when Ranger goes.
  18. Ah, I didn't see that coming. BR was one of my favourite rides as a kid and I recall going on it hundreds of times when I was younger. What a shame, however considering it was at AW for 30 years it needed to go someday. Looking forward to whats replacing it, though.
  19. Is Corkscrew actually painted like that, since I rode it years back and I do not remember it being painted that way.
  20. As much as I'd buy all the Squirtles at DW right now, that Verruckt accident is really fucking horrifying. A kid losing his head is an awful image to think of, I wonder if the people who saw this kid die will need to get counselling, since that will probably haunt them for the remainder of their lives. Very, very sad that this poor kid had to die in such a terrible way.
  21. Jesus, the area DW's fencing off is massive. I'm getting a little worried this is going to be an eyesore when finished.
