If that's all you want to say, that's fine. I'm just very curious about how our local parks and events fare on the global scene. As you can probably guess, your statement really struck a chord with me.
-
Don't worry about that, we all have technical issues at one point I find it interesting that you really like the suspenseful side. For me, while I love suspenseful films such as Psycho, I just can't stand it in mazes. I'm just want non-stop action. This year I'll try and see if I can avoid that mindset and maybe try to see just how enjoyable the tension is. If you don't mind me asking, what HHN event did you attend? I would really love to compare this even further and see just how far FN stacks up against the global leader in the field.
-
I don't mind if you prefer HHN or Fright Nights, It's just me being critical. You can sort of see where I'm coming from when I say that making that statement with no experience doesn't really provide much weight. It's like writing a thesis and referencing "John Doe at Info4KoolKidz" or "Dr Paul Smith's PHD thesis". One's going to be more highly regarded than the other. Please do answer this. I would love to pick your brain as to why you've come to this statement.
-
Have you been to HHN? I'm not trying to get up you or anything, but the weight behind that comment differs depending on whether you've been to the event in person, or just judging from youtube.

Don't they usually only do one commercial per year? Last year we had an extended cut as well as a shortened version of the same commercial. The year before that we only got one. Even what is arguably the largest Halloween event in the world, Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando, only has one commercial per year. I don't know why you're thinking that there would be multiple. Anyway, the commercial is of high quality, unlike some other years. One gets the job done. Also, I'll be attending opening night so I'll be able to give you guys a early review of what each maze and zone is like.

I'm surprised they haven't even announced the hours of operation. I'm sure it would be the same as previous years, but it would be still good to see a core part in the operation of the event to be addressed. Also, any clues as to why they have decided to use Zombieland as a precinct? I understand the appeal for zombies and how they are currently the "monster of the year" but the Zombieland franchise doesn't exactly have the same gravity as some classic names (i.e Friday the 13th). Not to mention the fact that no sequel or related media is being released soon, which rules out the possibility for this to be advertising. I'm not complaining but rather trying to find the reasoning behind this specific choice.

This reminds me of that segment from Mad Magazine; Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions I honestly don't give two hoots either way about it, but if a stupid question is asked then fire away. The question in question is a bit of a fine line. Wanting to know the actual dimensions would be a stupid question IMHO. How are we meant to know? But if it's in regards to the feeling of length in the maze, then I don't think a snappy answer would be all too justified. At the end of the day, I think that this is one where both parties are right and wrong simultaneously. Was the question the best? No, not really but it's certainly not the most stupid/. Was the sarcasm justified? Well, yes and no. How about we leave it at that?

I will say, Dreamworld is missing "Air-Con: The Ride", if that makes sense. If I'm every feeling a bit too hot at Movie World, I'll go to Justice League or the Roxy to cool off while also enjoying some entertainment. Dreamworld doesn't really have anything unless you make it to one of the two showings of the 3D show.

A turbine themed turbine opening on the 32nd of Smarch But honestly, I have no clue. With all the improvements that management has been making I can't really call on what route they'll go for their next coaster addition. They could go with a full circuit thrilling coaster, or stick to their habits and go with a shuttle. At this point, I think it's a bit too early to make a justified decision.

So I've narrowed down the dates I can attend the Ultimate Terror Tour and I undecided as to which to go with. I can either attend on opening night (2nd of October) or the 10th of October. I realise that if I go opening night I may run into teething problems and various issues that only arise at the beginning of the event, but if I go on the 10th I fear it wouldn't have that same excited energy of the first night. Hopefully you guys can help me chose which night what lead to the better experience.

I can kind of relate. Arkham Asylum always used to make me feel unwell. My legs would hurt, I would feel dizzy and the ride would kick a killer migraine into me. The last few times I've ridden it have been the best however. I haven't felt ill at all and I'm now starting to appreciate the actual layout of the SLC. An SLC with the smoothness of an Intamin could make for a pretty decent ride IMO. As for my favourites, it's in terms of what were speaking about. Space Mountain in California is my favourite for the experience. There's no need to suspend disbelief because the ride takes care of that for you. It's an absolute blast to ride. But in terms of thrills, I would have to give it to Superman Escape. The dark ride section always gets me hyped up and excited, the launch is intense and the airtime feels amazing when you're in the front row right after opening. If we're just going for enjoyment factor, it would probably be Hollywood Dream: The Ride over at Universal in Japan. While not the best layout, it was just a fun time listening to a great soundtrack and flying over the streets of Hollywood.

I'll PM it to you, as I feel this might go off topic and some guests may not want to have it brought back up again.
-
I'm sure the mods might take care of that. When Andrewh started the Eureka fiasco, I'm pretty certain one of them got in contact with the park to report them. I can't report them, since I don't know anything other then they are a zombie, but I'm sure the mods might have some more information.

My belief is that Freak's would be in at the end of Main Street, as the carnival aesthetic could blend quite nicely with the panic room being installed there. As for the other two, I can't really make any educated guesses since there's been no information to suggest their location yet.

Descriptions have been updated for the precincts It's very interesting. Seems they're trying to give Fright Night's a bit of Carnivale's energy levels by having performers around every corner. The only thing that bugs me is the Gothic Hall. It seems more of a stage than an actual scare zone. In "Freaks", I'm sure they'll have clowns wandering around, not to mention the more traditional sounding Demons Lair, whereas the Gothic Hall sounds like a playbill for a performance.

Toon Ride Operator Control, as well as buttons for water systems and animatronics. All signs point to "yes"

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I would actually be keen to see the opinions on the aesthetic style in the parks from someone who works in the field. Personally, I don't like the new stand because it blends into the building behind it a bit too much. The general aesthetic style, however, is a great improvement over the RCT reminiscent kiosk. -

The ice cream parlour has a very disneyland aesthetic going on. I like it. Also, is it just me or does the Churro stand look just a bit too similar to the building behind it? It just doesn't seem to pop but rather blend in. -
Let me preface this by saying that I'm an easily startled person. I have emitted audible screams when the toaster pops just because I haven't exepected it. The Darkness did jack all for me and the people I was with. The scenes, or hallways in this case, we completely devoid of detail. While that may be the fit the aesthetic style, it came across more half-assed and dollar store then it did an aesthetic choice. As for scares, the whole idea of not seeing them coming really fell flat. You could see them from ages away. It didn't help that most weren't hiding in nooks or crannies, but rather just standing in the middle of the path. I can't speak for Cannibal Clowns but Darkness, as much as I adore the work of the creative team, came across as half-assed and just flat. It's good to see that you've had a different experience, however.
-
I wouldn't call Hillbilly Slasher exactly cheap. I found it to be just as fleshed out as The Evil Dead. I'm happy that we've got four full mazes rather than a disappointment (looking at you, Darkness...). As for improvement, I guess we'll have to see when the event is actually underway. For all we know, the transition from soundstage to dodgem arena could have neutered the experience, or made it much, much better. Side Note: Could Wyrmwood be Fright Night's first ever delve into a black comedy style house? After watching the trailer, it's hard to not notice the comedic elements. Do you think they'll emphasise some of the humour? Or pull a serious tone?
-
No need to get so heated. I'm not all too chuffed with what we've got, but at least we have something. They could've easily given us half-assed mazes like "The Darkness" for all four. Instead, they've given four highly detailed and effective mazes. I don't really know Wyrmwood, nor do many people I know, but I'm not a horror aficionado. While I enjoy Fright Nights, I don't have my finger on the horror film pulse like others. Maybe that's their target audience?
-
I kinda sad there's no original ideas this year. At least I'll be able to go through Wolf Creek and Evil Within for once...
-
I'm going to be doing the tour, and I kinda want to avoid some of the teething problems. Any idea as to when it should be good to go?
-
As I've mentioned before, the descriptions lead me to believe that the Panic Rooms are highly similar to Room Escape Attractions. Basically there's a puzzle that needs solving and you have a time limit. Since it's Fright Nights, I'm assuming that scares would be abundant. If you've played any point and click computer games, then this should seem familiar to you. Whether or not they end up being good is a different question. Depends on the final execution. If you've got the tour, I would probably make a decision on the night. You may end up doing all the mazes in record time, leaving enough time to experience a Panic Room. Clowns could be a scare zone. Would tie in nicely with the Panic Room in Main Street. As you can see, we probably wouldn't be seeing any repeats.

Is this the first time we've ever actually agreed on something from the beginning? But as Alex said, if you think something is actually possible then please back it up. Treat it like you would writing an essay. Every time a fact is mentioned, back it up. For example, "I think this idea is possible because of xyz".
