CYCLONE Roller Coaster at Dreamworld
Zanstabar replied to Trevor A Knott's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That wasn't my issue. My high school had an ESL course and I knew some people that did it. What I was trying to point out was a pretty simple grammar problem; your use of the world "quality" (adjective or noun) when you I assume you meant "qualify" (verb), which I assume came for a simple typing mishap. I just found a sense of irony that in the sentence where you speak about your views on the matter, you've made a mistake yourself. Your forgiveness means so much to me -
CYCLONE Roller Coaster at Dreamworld

Is it ironic that the one line where you condemn those who can't type properly is the one line where you have made a pretty decent mistake? While I do find it hard to read some of those posts, I don't think it's the worse thing ever as you seem to have put it. I can understand their intent and majority of what they were trying to say. Not everyone can be a perfect 10. The one thing I will agree with you on is the direction of travel discussion. For a group of theme park enthusiasts, I thought majority of us would know a general idea of basic physics. -

I don't think it's a terribly outlandish idea for Dreamworld to get backwards facing trains from Kumbak, but this rumour has been going around for a while. I'm with Ocean girl; needs a bit more of a credible source before I start to believe. -

Are you trying to tell us that the Cyclone running backwards is a fact or just a rumour? If fact, please post some sort of source of reference. It's a bit hard to take your post seriously without anything over than a statement with nothing to back it up. -

How do Theme parks make profit from yearly passes?

I always see that getting a locker when I go contributes. $10 for the day is surely 80% profit or more -
How do Theme parks make profit from yearly passes?
Zanstabar replied to Louis.sayer3's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I learnt about this a little while ago back in High School. VRTP makes money from the passes thanks to "Supplementary Purchases". When an average guests goes to the park, they tend to buy food and beverages, as well as merchandise. The psychology behind the passes is that the guest thinks "Gee, I saved $80 on my entry today. That means I can splurge!". This could be on something as simple as a locker, or as far as an Animal Adventure or a Helicopter flight. I may not have covered everything in the best way possible, but that's all I can remember from a class a couple of years back -
If these bets turn out to be true, I would be insanely happy. I went on The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at the Osaka park, and it was easily one of the best experience's I've had on a ride. While it felt cartoony and outlandish, it felt real enough to suspend disbelief with very minimal effort. Let's say that this new attraction is a Multi-Motion Dark Ride, could we see Sally Corp return to our shores? I would personally prefer an RMC with the Mad Max franchise as it fits the insanity and craziness of the franchise I don't have a problem with it being a woodie (as long as it's a good woodie), but I'm just wondering how you would do a Mad Max dark ride section. How would you approach it? What would the scenes be? What would the story be?

So does anyone have any information or gossip in regards to the Dockside Tavern? The Theme Park Social Network did post a picture of the tavern but it just looks like it's getting a repaint. Any realistic ideas on the extent of the renovation? -
Since most of the mazes would be in the "Scenic" phase at the moment, what's the bet that this competition maze will be in the Scooby Queue?

Any aspiring filmmakers here?

Yeah, duplicate thread that isn't really necessary. On a side note, I can't help but think of this when I see that title...

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Last time I went, Kung-Fu Panda had only one relevant song playing; Kung-Fu Fighting. Everytime I went, they were playing Titanium by David Guetta and Sia and I think Wipeout by the Surfaris as well -

I was thinking Spongebob because of the blue, as well as the Spongebob themed Ferry being really close to the ride -
While it's not all concept art, I've found some very interesting resources about the conception of Warner Bros Movie World (most of which I'm presuming that many of you have seen) Kentucky newspaper article about the park7 News Flashback for the park's 20th anniversaryIn that piece from Channel 7, they show the original map drawn up by CV Wood himself. I've seen the still images online (I believe it was MiceChat?) but I can't seem to be able to find them anymore. If anyone finds them, could you please post them here?

SeaWorld overflow car park lost.
Zanstabar replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Just remember that right next to Palazzo Versace, a hotel where numerous A-List celebrities have been known to stay while they are on the Gold Coast, is a grimy old fish market. It's honestly not that strange to see business that may not be complementary next to each other. The way I'm thinking about it is this way. A resort next to Sea World may entice guests staying at the new property to visit the park, where they'll be spending money on food, admission and souvenirs. After all expenditures are taken, this could mean more CapEx for the park, and I think we all know what that means! Could the Queens Wharf development have a flow on effect for the Gold Coast parks? If a tourist visits Brisbane, they may very well be enticed to visit the Gold Coast parks. These new developments are looking to be highly promising. -
2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
They still do. It's one of the few areas of the park where the soundtrack matches the theme. In my original post, I probably should've clarified that I was hinting towards areas of the park such as Main Street, Dreamworks Experience, Ocean Parade, and the Giant Drop/MDMC area. -

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
A little off topic, but just a thought that occurred to me. While we would all like Dreamworld to have a proper soundtrack instead of the generic playlist that play in each themed area, why haven't Dreamworld thought about making the playlist for each themed area somewhat relevant and themed? For example, near the Tower of Terror songs such as Heavy Metal & Reflective by Azalea Banks and Television Rules the Nation by Daft Punk could help contribute to the vaguely industrial sci-fi theme. For Ocean Parade, Settle Down by No Doubt is still a generic party song but the reggae sound lends itself to the tropical theme. Maybe this wouldn't be possible since the half-assed implementation of Dreamworld TV, but I honestly have no clue why they haven't thought about curating the soundtrack for each area to fit the theme. -
I have a lot of GP friends who, when given the option, don't tend to go to Movie World just for the shear fact that they don't have as many rides as Dreamworld. According to many of them, once the big rides at MW are done, the day has already just begun. While I would absolutely love to see a new coaster, I think it might be wise for the park to invest in some smaller attractions. No park can survive on only E-Tickets. Some well themed and executed flat rides would be perfect, as the can easily chew up crowds and fill in those empty space in the day. Now's the time were I'm torn between hoping for the addition I want and the addition that I know the park needs.

Yeah. No feelings either way to flat out say "No" or "Yes" to the theory. Just some a thought regarding the theory.
