  1. Probably not. I think six might be too steep bit of a jump. Could happen, but my mind says no. Considering that we're seeing construction in the Dodgem arena, it may as well be a tent set up to store some of the scenic pieces from the rain. Even if we had six mazes, I highly doubt it would be located in a tent right next door to a soundstage. If anywhere, another maze should go on the concrete slab out between WWF and Arkham. Did you happen to see anything near that slab?
  2. The probably with AHS is that it's an anthology show. There is no over-arching antagonist that ties all the seasons together, but rather each season is almost like a different show. New characters, new locations, new plot. This doesn't lend itself well to a mashup maze. Walking Dead did it wonderfully because each season follows the same story. Same characters, same antagonist, similar locations. With American Horror Story, some people may not get what's going on if one second you're in the Murder House being startled by a sexy maid before being chased down a mental asylum hallway by a musical nun, witnessing a minotaur chase some innocent girls down the streets of New Orleans and then being taunted and teased by a Floridian murder clown. If AHS was to be made into a maze, I would suggest that it sticks to one season but then the problem of which season to showcase arises.
  3. Same here. They really need some more attractions to soak up the crowds now. I couldn't agree more. The original has been converted into a maze over at HHN, so I don't see why we can't have our own! Reviews haven't been too good for this. I would personally prefer if they didn't go with this as an IP, but seeing as how cross-promotions are these days it may be likely. I would love to see an American Horror Story maze, but then you have the issue on what season do you portray and how would you approach condensing a whole season of television down into 5 minute maze. I do have an idea on how to approach it, but beware that there are spoilers for the first season.
  4. I'm all for it if it suits the ride. Some Disney sponsorships spring to mind, such as the Turner Classic Movies sponsorship on The Great Movie Ride and Alamo Car Rental sponsoring the Main Street Vehicles. The way they are executed is great. Pronounced enough to be effective, while also being subtle enough to not feel like you've just been assaulted. What fuels the fire of hate within me is the Six Flags approach to sponsorship. It just hurts me to see these... No real care or thought put into it, other than that they're getting some quick coin. Let's just hope Dreamworld can execute sponsorships in a good and natural way, which hopefully won't involve the Cyclone being sponsored by the equally bad Frank Walker from National Tiles advertisements.
  5. Anyone know what the theoretical capacity of the mazes are? I remember seeing an episode of Shark Tank earlier in the year, and the business was a year-round haunt. They mentioned their main competition would be FN, which clocked in around 10,000 guests in 10 days, but I've also heard that they have around 3,000 to 4,000 guests a night. Using these figures, could we estimate what the average wait times would be if they decide to have five mazes this year?
  6. If Dreamworld gets organised and puts enough people on the job, I'm sure they could get it done. I don't think a reno to the Cyclone would be anything massive. It would really be similar to the TOT refurb, where some paint is applied and some new fixtures are added in. It wouldn't entail a demolition of the building and a rebuild from scratch.
  7. The developer of The Evil Within was Tango Gameworks and the publisher was Bethesda. I can't seem to find anything about Tango Gameworks and any future games but the founder, Shinji Mikami, was the creator of the Resident Evil game series. If they meant Bethesda, then we might be looking at Fallout 4 or Doom. Regardless, we don't know which mazes will be going in which locations, so it's a free for all at this point. A part of me is hoping for Fallout, as the whole nuclear apocalypse theme is something that I find really creative and enjoy. Although the franchise is not inherently a horror game, it could lead to some pretty nice costume and prop design. Doom and Resident Evil would be pretty nice to see too, as both are iconic games that still draw a crowd after countless sequels and reboots.
  8. What's everyone hopes for this year's event? For mazes, I have two ideas; one realistic, one up in the clouds. The realistic one would be the return of the Film Vault. As I said earlier in this thread, it's a good concept for a maze as it allows for properties that are highly impactful but don't have enough content to be brought into a maze. If this returns this year, I would love to see them ditch the fencing and make the maze themed around the characters from the films featured running amok at the film studio after hours. They could have some fun with this whole concept. Maybe Jack Torrance is lurking around the writers room? Norman Bates taking over the costuming department? It could be such a unique and enjoyable maze. As for the crazy one, I would just love to see them do a maze set in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This could easily be one of the more visually appealing mazes that they could produce. Not to mention, New Orleans is rich with morbid and grotesque history. You could go with the typical Voodoo idea, spice it up with a bit Delphine LaLaurie, maybe take a bite at the rumours of a French Vampire haunting the city, or even just tie it in with a Left4Dead maze like Reanimated said earlier. It's a place that has so many possibilities and I would love to see them use it. With the rest of the event, I would just like to see them bring in a proper icon and scarezones. Maybe the icon could tie all the mazes together and make them cohesive. If every maze revolves around cinema, maybe make a character similar to the Director or the Usher from Halloween Horror Nights. As for the scarezones, all I'm wanting is for them to bring it physical set pieces and costuming that all ties in together. Cut the zombie bullshit and give us something a bit different. While it hasn't been called the best scare zone, something like 7 at HHN would be great. It would be such a departure from the typical zombie offerings that it would be really refreshing.
  9. Wow! That looks so much nicer than the train wreck that we saw at the beginning of the year! There's an actual station... An actual station with air-gates! And it doesn't look worse than RCT3. Oh boy, this is going to be lovely couple of years for coaster sims.
  10. That may be correct. It would explain a lot of personality quirks both with him and his page. However... So would you call someone who is abusing a guest at a park to have good intentions? If this statement is true, then I find it hard to believe so. Anyway, how about we stop bitching about him like a bunch of Real Housewives and get back on topic? He is the only person that goes to the parks and prominently takes photos of future additions and construction.
  11. If that's true, that's horrible. I'm not going to talk shit since I don't know him, but I will say it's quite bad that he doesn't reference his sources. Is it really that bad to say "Some people on Parkz have found..." or "Footage from Parkz"?. Richard had the integrity to message me regarding a screenshot of mine, and I really appreciated it. That speaks volumes to me, as a screen capture of Facebook isn't something that I had to work on. It's not like it had to get correct composure, lighting, as well as framing. I can only image how mad you'd be if he stole a photograph thats of a high quality, such as some of the shots taken by Reanimated, Gazza, and OurWorlds. Now I'm just wondering if he's one of us. Lurking, secretly, behind his computer screen. Plotting his revenge against all those that have defaced the name of his page.
  12. Can't really make out whether that's the framework for a wall or a print of some kind. I hope it's not the Ripper again. I'd much prefer a lineup of original mazes rather than rehashes.
  13. I would honestly see this hypothetical show. My top preference would still be a coaster, but that's just because I want to be in the front seat. Regardless, seeing the physical stunts of a Mad Max film would be insane. Also, would they stay with a complete serious tone or maybe add some slapstick? I do prefer a show with a bit of humour, but I don't think Mad Max trying to survive in post-nuclear Australia is the place to add some Police Academy style comedy.
  14. This is Mad Max we're talking about though. I'm sure they would find a way to make a giant TV Screen fit into the story. They have a truck with nothing but subwoofers for god's sake! The filming of a film wouldn't be the worst idea ever, but it wouldn't be the best. It'll be an improvement on the existing offering but it wouldn't be the best thing since sliced bread. One thing that did cross my mind with the stunt show utilising the Mad Max license was the show's target audience. The stunt show has always attracted families with children, and I doubt it would be appropriate for the show to feature a franchise that contains some pretty adult material, including (but not limited to...) gore, violence and some sexual themes, not to mention... I'm sure the little ones will absolutely love it!
  15. With their track record for information, it's not the most reputable.
  16. Firstly, I really hope that neon paint is temporary. If most of the mazes are 3D Backlit Flat Scenery mazes I'll be a little disappointed. After seeing the level that they can reach over the past few years, I'm expecting some pretty decent mazes. Secondly, with the idea that the soundstage are off limits where else can be used? You've got Western Stage, Dodgems, Scooby-Doo, Tent... Is there any spare space over near Kids WB? Is there any space actually available at Arkham?
  17. I think Chinatown Alley would be better for a scare zone. While it is always good to have more mazes, I feel that the alleyway suffers the same fate as Scooby's Extension, and that's the location doesn't have much room. Any maze in both locations is either going to be up to par design wise but incredibly short, or a decent length with bland design. Both location will continue to suffer this fate unless they start to think about how the can be a bit more creative with their allocated areas.
  18. Even that sounds like a winner. This property would most likely be amazing with any attraction. I just hope that they actually utilise it.
  19. I know I'm bringing this back up again, but I only just saw Mad Max: Fury Road last night. Every single inch of me wants MW to do SOMETHING with this property. Whether it's my dream coaster, a stunt show or even a exhibit, if MW doesn't add anything to tie in with what is now the 10th best rated film of all time then I will be severely disappointed. In saying that I would still love to see this franchise be transitioned into a coaster. I just feel like this franchise would be one where you want to experience it first hand and sit in the front seat of the War Rig, rather than just watching it happen in a show. My ideal addition would be a coaster that takes some of the elements from rides like Nemesis, Maverick and Wicked Cyclone. If they made a smooth Intamin LSM coaster with the slaloming turns of Maverick, the environmental interaction of Nemesis, and the hills and overbanks of Wicked Cyclone then I think they would be onto a winner.
  20. Is it possible that you could post some pics? With all the personal information covered of course
  21. OG, my rule of thumb with Fright Nights and children is simple. Would you let your child watch all the films in one of the properties showcased at the event? For example, would you let her watch The Evil Dead? I also agree with the experience yourself suggestion. YouTube videos don't always do the experience justice. Where YouTube is just sight and sound, the mazes can be sight, sound, touch and smell. Seeing as how no major horror films are being released in the upcoming months, I wonder what properties they'll showcase. Could we get all originals? But that would not have as much recognition. Could we get some classic franchises being represented? Are the said franchises even relevant anymore? Who knows. I'd love to see everyone's predictions
  22. FNAF would be terrible in my opinion. I do personally find deteriorated animatronics creepy, but the audience has made some stuff that I just don't think Movie World wouldn't want to exactly promote. I would love to see the return of the Film Vault with actual studio related theming. I was watching an interview of Jon Murdy from HHN Hollywood, and one of his main reasons for rejecting IP's is from three core criteria; Enivornments, Characters and Scares. The Film Vault would allow for films that don't meet this criteria to fit a stand alone maze. Films such as Psycho would allow for some amazing scares, but aren't strong enough for an individual maze. This is what I would love to see.
  23. In my perfect world, I would redo the Main Street of Movie World into a New York themed area, around the end of the Jazz age and the start of the Great Depression. This would allow the theming to reflect two major Warner Bros properties; The Great Gatsby and the Gangster films. I would change HSD into a stunt show themed around the Gangster genre. As for the area around Scooby, I would re theme to match the New York setting (maybe Coney Island). This would also apply to Gotham City Cafe. From a realistic perspective, this probably wouldn't happen. This would be a million plus dollar expansion, that wouldn't really draw in too many new guests to justify such a change. It would make me so happy to see the DC properties removed from Main Street, and to see some of the lesser properties shine. Gotham City Cafe is out of place and it does annoy me a lot, but unless the park can justify spending millions on fixing it then I just don't think it will happen.
