  1. That's why JL is one of my favourite rides. I feel those little references and Easter eggs add so much to the experience, and I wish we had more of them.
  2. Not sure if this really contributes anything to this discussion, but I had some time to kill a little while back and decided to make a "Product Matrix" for Movie World. For those that don't know, a Product Matrix is basically used to find gaps in the market when designing products. It consists of a X & Y Axis, with various existing products scattered across the graph depending on their properties and attributes. In this one, I had the Intensity of the ride on the X-Axis, and the Family Appeal of the rides on the Y-Axis. You can see that there are two pretty massive gaps in the park, one for a Medium Intensity-Medium Family Appeal Ride and the other for a Low Intensity-Low Family Appeal ride. Realistically, the Low-Low gap can't be filled, however the Medium-Medium gap can be. I think it would be pretty crazy if the next addition to the park didn't try to attempt to fill this gap at all.
  3. If they finally do open it back up, I'm hoping for it to be themed to Gotham's "Crime Alley", or what was formally known as Park Row. Could easily put a couple of easter eggs that would definitely leave DC fans dead in their tracks...
  4. If MW did add a resort, I believe they would have to have some sort of Downtown Disney/CityWalk esque attraction, similar to the Warner Village Precint proposed by Wyatt Design Group ( If I was travelling, staying next to a park would be enticing but I feel you would need something else to do. In MW case, you've got all WnW, AOS, Paradise Country, and that's where it ends. Some sort of precinct linking all these attractions would not only take out some of the need for transportation between parks but would also give the guests another incentive to stay at Oxenford, rather than on the Broadwater
  5. Sounds like a great trip! Busch Gardens Williamsburg is definitely on my theme park bucket list for many reasons, and I think your photography really makes me eager to visit one day. It's good to hear that Loch Ness is still smooth, especially considering that state of every other Arrow I've ridden. One quick question though: I've heard the Alpengeist might be the roughest of all the B&M inverts. Did you think it was that rough, considering you've been on a bunch of others?
  6. I'm pretty sure they have the circus over near Westfield Helensvale, so I doubt that. An expansion would be great, especially if they added a couple more "filler" attractions. MW is in desperate need of some simple flats that fit the theme of the land nicely, while not stealing away too many people from the blockbuster attractions.
  7. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying JL is the be all and end all but for our budget, sizing requirements and various other constraints, I think they did a remarkable job. $9,000,000 got us what may be the best dark ride in Australia. Maybe in a couple of years time when the ride goes down for a major rehab, they might spice up the ride a bit and bring it on par with the overseas counterpart.
  8. Only logical explanation I can think of is extended parking. Maybe a multi-storey parking garage so they have more space for the park, considering they can't exactly move back towards WWF
  9. Would've edited this into my previous post but I just came across it: A first look at the new Yeti on the Matterhorn at Disneyland
  10. While that does look amazing, our ride suited our needs. Sure, another E-Ticket would've been great, especially as a dark ride, but we just needed a family friendly dark ride of a similar calibre to the classic Fantasyland rides at Disneyland, which IMHO is what we got. Maybe for the next E-Ticket Attraction, VRTP could give Sally Corp a ring and try to bring a more 'thrilling' dark ride here. As for the effects, many of them look on par with ours, although I'm getting a real "Spider-Man" vibe throughout the whole ride. Looks great and another reason for me to go back to Texas one day!
  11. No need to get annoyed, I'm just thinking with the best of intentions. I believe it's just a one off. Haven't seen anything about them anyway, as with Prime Burgers.
  12. They would be pretty cool to see. I'm thinking something similar to Moe's at the Universal Resorts for the general style. One question about that though, is there enough space for them to recreate Central Perk in that cramped little store?
  13. Mad Max Maze would be pretty cool but it wouldn't be Mad Max without crazy stunts, so I doubt it would fit the franchise. The apocalypse is one of my favourite themes and I would really love to see a maze based around that concept, but I don't think tying it in to Mad Max and not having any cars doing jumps, ramming each other or exploding would fit. As for GOT, Maze would do, land would not. It's just a bit too adult to have at the parks day-to-day. If MW went with GOT, why not bring along a Clockwork Orange while they're at it? Maybe some Tarantino as well? In all seriousness though, I wouldn't mind seeing if they could do a bit of a meet and greet with some of the characters. Maybe then, they could tone it down a bit and make it a bit more acceptable.
  14. I find it actually quite odd that we haven't heard anything about the investigation. It's been a couple of months and we've heard jack. As for changing the trains, I think that may cause a lot more pain in Movie World's behind. Not only will capacity already take a hit, but remember that the stations was also designed to accommodate wider trains, as does the catwalks. Not to mention the the track was scaled up to suit the experimental trains. If they suddenly went with smaller, 4-seater cars, they would've have to refurbish the station, all the catwalks, and review whether the train can manoeuvre through a layout designed for much more weight, therefore more speed and force behind it. Changing trains wouldn't be like Lethal Weapon to Arkham Asylum or Mantis to Rougaoru, this would be like changing out Kumba's trains for Wingriders.
  15. No offence El Dub, but you aren't exactly in a reputable position. First time poster with inside gossip? Sounds a bit suss, doesn't it? Anyway, I feel oddly content with the ride being removed. A coaster that wasn't terrible in the first place will be gone, but if it reopens, what will everyone think? Will no one ride, leading to MW burning through money for wages and operating costs? I'm now really interested to see what everyone else's take on the possibility of it being removed is.
  16. Just wondering, what is the group consensus on a Mad Max attraction. Are most of us on the Stunt Show side? Or the Attraction side? Personally, I'm on the attraction side. What I would prefer is to have the first-hand experience of feeling what it's like to be in the film's universe. Whether it's a coaster, a dark ride or a flat, feeling as if you're in the Special Pursuit, hurtling over sand dunes and caverns would be much more exciting and thrilling to me than watching a live-action version of the films. Don't get me wrong, I think stunt shows are exciting and amazing but for Mad Max, I want to be in the driver's seat, not watching from the safety of the stadium. Either way would be a win, honestly. You either get a kick-arse attraction or a much-needed replacement for the stunt show.
  17. As cool as I think a Mad Max Stunt Show would be, with the current themeing surrounding the stages, it would be quite a jarring change. One second you're just on Main Street, next you're in the middle of apocalyptic Australia. Personally, I would prefer a coaster almost like an adult version of Jet Rescue or Maverick at Cedar Point to carry the Mad Max name, but that's my own personal preference.
  18. I agree with you Joz. Just a small exhibit, maybe based around the Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts, showcasing some props would be a welcomed addition to the park. A year-round haunt, on the other hand, would be a no from me. An exhibit would work as a small, relaxing attraction for when you want to cool off, where as a maze would have terrible operations, staffing would be a pain, and take up valuable space in an already land-locked park.
  19. I hope not. They capacity is already a trainwreck running 8-seaters. Imagine how bad it would be if they halve it! We would be looking at 300-400pph!
  20. No need to be sorry. Some friendly banter is all G with me! Just a suggestion, but should we move this to a topic about Movie World? Feels a little odd talking about 2015 in Movie World in the 2015 in Dreamworld thread.
  21. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's out of date. Superman is 82 years old, but that's not stopping anyone. Now I'm imagining MW installing a Break Dance in a similar vain of "Dark Rebel" but with Diplo's Express Yourself and Miley's tongue flashing everywhere. I think I need eye bleach
  22. I wouldn't say it's too far out. I know that quite a few kids I've babysat over the years have all seen it and loved it. Also, Hannah Montanna: Nights in White Satin: The Trip: The Ride?
  23. Maybe a Wizard of Oz Dark Ride over near the Wild West Town? Theme the exterior up to the family farm, then I think you would have a perfect family ride
  24. I'd be hopeful for MW to get a nice family ride of the same calibre of Scooby Doo. Something that draws crowds from all ages.
