  1. That neon sign was absolutely horrendous. First ride of Bermuda and I didn't even realise it was meant to be lava (having no audio probably made it even worse)! If they did have to replace, what would work well? A bright orange light and a steam/mist cannon?
  2. Wait a minute... Does the track actually end at the beginning of the pool?
  3. I'm not saying Screamworld should be a Halloween event, I was just pointing out on of the reasons as to why Screamworld is not as popular as other theme park events, such as Fright Nights. It obvious that Dreamworld does give a flying fudge about their special events, just look at all the advertising for them.
  4. I think the reason why Screamworld doesn't get as much attention as other events like Fright Nights or White Christmas is really due to the lack of "original content". The main reason why people go to Fright Nights and White Christmas is for the unique experiences, such as the Mazes and the Christmas Parade. Screamworld, on the other hand, is just Dreamworld after 5; not the exciting, is it? If DW wanted to compete with these events, they would add more "exclusive content" and ramp up the advertising, and its obvious that they don't want to compete due to the lack of this.
  5. As much as we all hate on Dreamworld, it does have a variety of positives. It's nice to acknowledge these for once.
  6. This is really disheartening to hear. I know that the GP still love Dreamworld as it has the largest ride count, but broken TV's and terrible loading techniques should really deter most people. If this hypothesised new ride was to happen, I really hope it's something meaningful to rekindle my love for the park, and NOT a crappy shuttle with bad load/unload techniques.
  7. Found an old commercial for the Bermuda Triangle today. Take a look! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edEjRY5qHx0
  8. Out of all the rides on the Gold Coast, I would have to say Arkham Asylum. There is just something about it that always make me come off feeling light-headed and jelly-legged. Maybe that's the Vekoma sign of quality?
  9. I can already tell that's it's better than Bermuda. I only got to ride Bermuda twice, once with on-ride sound and once without. As much as we loved it, it was at the end of its lifespan. Sound wasn't working, effect were broken, and it just started to be a little rundown. I am too young to know how it was at launch, but even from these reviews, photos and videos I can tell that the Storm has blown the older Bermuda right out of the water. Anyway, does anyone know if they are going to try and implement the story into the queue somehow so that guests that don't read the sign know what's going on? Maybe audio like Superman?
  10. Maybe they could theme it to a new type of motorbike which uses turbines as it main type of propulsion! That sounds right up Dreamworld's alley!
  11. I can tell you now, the Fright Nights Creative Team would be brainstorming mazes and attractions for next year, so it's never to early. I do like the idea of Carrie but I don't think it could be a stand-alone maze. I remember seeing an interview with John Murdy of HHN and how he decided what franchises to do, and his three rules where many iconic scenes, great characters and a good setting. With Carrie, there is really only one iconic scene, two major characters and one great location. If MW does the same thought process, I'd expect Carrie in a sequel to the Film Vault. As for me, I would just love some more scare zoned that have a different theme. Maybe one themed to clowns, another themed to famous movie murders, etc.
  12. What would it be? Assuming it would have the parks current effort towards themeing and keep to their spending habits, what ride would benefit the most or have the biggest change?
  13. Really detailed review Gazza. Sounds like a great summertime ride! Just wondering, do you think it takes the cake for best themed ride in aus? And is it up to US SeaWorld or even Universal in terms of themeing quality?
  14. Looks like I chose the wrong day to go to Movie World Anyway, Is the ride currently in a soft open? Or has it been officially launched?
  15. This is the problem with this list they've made; It's their personal opinion. I think MW is better than Dreamworld, but you think Dreamworld should be on top. Its your's opinion, and I'm not going to say you're wrong. This list was only made so that visitors that venture to the coast have a better knowledge of local attractions, such as Infinity and Currimbin. Long story short, we should stop complaining about the list and focus on the rest of the campaign
  16. For some reason the interior part on The Project reminded me of Jurassic Park River Adventure. I have no clue why, but that's the first thing that popped into my head. Hopefully, this will maybe be better than Bermuda!
  17. I though it was mentioned on the Today Show this morning. I could be wrong, though.
  18. So is it worth flying all the way down to Perth for?
  19. Now that Fright Nights for 2013 is over, what was everyone's favourite scares from the event? Mine would have the be the finale in the Evil Dead by far.
  20. I do remember hearing ages ago that this is how VRTP makes a profit off of VIP passes. When guest can enter the parks for "free" they tend to spend over the normal price of admission in upgrades. So for Fright Nights, I would say about 50% of their income was from people entering for free and paying for Fast Track.
  21. I'm fine with a ticket increase, as long as its something reasonable (Not a jump from $40 to $90)
  22. I do sincerely hope that the extra revenue they've generated from the fast pass tickets is reinvested into the event next year and not just absorbed into central revenue, with the same budget attached to next year... if that makes sense?
  23. These type of events are changing every year in one form or another, so if we don't end up with a higher maze count next year, we may receive a dedicated scare-zone or couple new shows. I would actually love to show a showing of RHPS in the Rocky Theatre. It seems like prime space that is constantly underused at Fright Nights.
