What are reasonable prices for theme parks?
Tim Dasco replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
At $25/$35 tickets the parks would not be profitable. AW day passes are around $57 dollars or season passes for $152 these are for adults. I do think these prices are right to enable a park to expand. Look how many attractions AW has been doing lately. 30 million plus in 7 years. So there is no way a park could add decant attractions charging $25 or $35 dollars. what special extras do pass holders get at VRTP or DW? -

I think because they are building a new sub power station they are running power lines to certain places around the park now. So when they build more rides in the future there are power lines to the new sub power plant. Or they could be attaching DK to the new power sub station. I do hope to see the kids slides built in DK but I might honk that will be for next year as we are getting MI3 this year. -

@iwerks I think they might just be running power lines to multiple areas around the park that lead to the new sub station. So they can either put existing attractions onto the new sub station or they will have cables running to multiple areas for when they build future rides. So now that the season closed and construction has not started we have seen AW register for a BP for MI3 which has been approved along with a DA. (http://masterview.cockburn.wa.gov.au/MasterViewUI/modules/applicationmaster/default.aspx?page=wrapper&key=371882) With construction expected to begin in June I think we might see some teasers soon now that the park is closed for the season and they can focuses their attention to MI3.Would anyone know if they need special approval for a ride over 100 meters. IE a Windseeker? -
Parkz News Deborah Thomas demoted amid Dreamworld sale rumours

We have seen Ardent make some good changes at DW. Like giving a lot of attractions and areas a much needed face lift. They have spent money but not in the areas we want to see it. DW spent 7 million I think on TI. They have fixed a lot of areas but there are more areas that need fixing with new major attractions not flat rides. I still think they at one stage considered a Eurofighter weather that plan is still there or not remains a mystery but just before the accident Craig Davidson was at AW. I believe to look at Abyss. -
Ardent Leisure eyes Dreamworld sale
Tim Dasco replied to Tin Foil Hat's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So to me passes for multiple dates or season passes should be at least double a 1 day ticket. What is the point of buying a 1 day ticket if it cost $10 more for a season pass. AW sells seasons passes for approx $152 which is just under 3 visits to the park. I wouldn't think DW would make much money of a $35 35 day pass. -
Do you prefer style or substance in your coaster track?

It's an auto correct thing now. My phone automatically changes it and won't let my change it back. So I am gonna try and fix that. It is annoying me too. -

I think it also comes down to B&M uses 4 abreast seating where as most others use 2. B&M's trains look more Buckley which would be heavier which would require a stronger track. This would explain why dive coaster track has a massive spin on it. -

I watched the video cams of Valravn being built and that is a master piece. The little amount of supports on it and watching them put the track together to reach the next support was AWsome to watch. -

I rather the look of the older Intamin track (SE) instead of their new track which looks more like Vekoma track. But I watched a video and Intamin said there new track design is used to allow them to put less supports in making the coasters cheaper. -

With the wind seekers there were problems in the opening few years but from what I found they seem to be very reliable now and they worked out the kinks. Plus seeing a 100 meter tower at AW would be a major visual icon for the park. That you could see from some distance. on Inferno, it was out of actition for over a year because Huss took a long time to get the park shock absorbers and when they a revived they didn't work and they had to get Huss techs out to look at it. But this season it was running for the bulk of it. However it was closed on fright nights. -

AW posted on Facebook that Inferno was closed for maintenance for the last week of the season. Hopefully nothing major. We did say wind seeker or sky flyer. A wind seeker will launch guests to new heights, be the tallest in Australia and Mondial is in Europe. However can they get one for 7.5 million. Remains to be seen. -
@Rollercoaster_Lover Where did you hear that DW are making announcements this year?
-
So for the rumoured cost of 7 million (for DD and the area) they did not market that at all. (To what they should have done) Which makes it a waste of money if your not marketing a new attraction to bring attendants up. All they need to do is look at how much attendants went up for AW with Abyss and their marketing campaign. I was hoping this ride would do well and we will see more big attraction like this in the future. But if nobody knows about it attendants won't go up and it will be a loss for MW. MW really need to start building hype for this attraction. Which is harder to do now that construction has gone verticals and theirs less stuff to tease.
-
Does anyone fear that by the fact of MW denying their is a roller caster and not announcing it this ride will just be a big bust. People won't come to ride it if they don't know about it. A lot of people I know have already booked Christmas holidays now. So every day the wait to push it is money wasted. At this stage Abyss had news stories on it and had PR stunts happening around Perth and this hyper coaster is a lot more expensive than Abyss.

DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion

Or this section is at the back of the site. So it easily to do there first without having the navigate the coaster to get to it later. Even more so if Mack told them to do this, Mack would have nothing to do with advertising. -
@iwerks they promised big things last year. I think it's more their advertising campaign saying the show will be bigger and better when nothing changes.

Would long hyper coaster trains be able to navigate twist like that? -
Then why is TTD a Strata coaster then if it launches?
-
They measured these goth of the Antonuv in pencil lengths.
-
If a hyper coaster is about air time speed and drops what's a giga coaster about?
-
From DWs Facebook page. Looks like the BB amphitheatre.
-
Plus if they get rid of TOT2 would they remove the track leaving the tower for the giant drop or just take both down. Being their flagship attraction I think we will see them stay for as long as possible. Now MW has a Hyper coaster I think DW will want to keep this even more as this is taller and possibly faster.
