  1. It always works that way. The good weather comes when they are shut and the bad weather comes when they are open.
  2. Congratulations @Mark Shaw and team. I saw that you are also finalist in the AIM/West Business Pinnacle Awards for the second year in a row for the category of Customer Service Excellence and you won it last year. I must say this award is very well deserved! The customer service at AW is great. The staff are always so friends, helpful and its makes the day so much more enjoyable. You should be very proud of yourselves and I am so glad I call AW my home park. I am looking forward to visiting soon. The next 3 days are suppose to be 30 degrees and then we go back to the cold rain.
  3. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for FF. The Tornado Wave seems like it will be a hit with the thrill market and if they go with a clover leaf raft it should have a decent capacity.
  4. Speaking of that. This is a video of The Rage ride owned by L&L Osbourne Showtime amusements being set up and running a ride cycle.
  5. I just mean why did they announced the hotel and top golf so long before construction will start but why the roller coaster has already started construction without an announcement or any word from MW. I am more getting at why the Hotel and Top Gold were announced so far in advanced rather then holding of on an announcement until constructions starts or later like they are doing with the Roller Coaster.
  6. I just want to add my 2 cents. Top Golf looks tiny on that map. Does someone know how much space Top Golf does require? That area looks to small to even hold a mini golf course. I was imagining it would require as much land as the roller coaster has. Regarding the hotel I am surprised construction has not started considering it was announced last year and why construction on Top Golf has not happened yet after being announced a long time ago. Yet their is no mention yet of a massive roller coaster which they have started building but have said nothing about. Seems strange.
  7. By side tower I meant the Banjo’s Billabong. You could technically call it a slide tower. It was just when I wrote the post I forgot its name. But Banjo's Billabong has bright colours red, green, blue and yellow.
  8. Does anyone know when the Tornado wave is going to open? On a side note it seems like Pro-slides are selling loads of waterslides to Australian parks in the last few years. Kraken, Perfect Storm, Funnel Web, FF's tornado wave, FF's Kraken racer, the maze waterslides (proposed), Triple vortex, and the ones at WNW Sydney.
  9. Just was thinking about AW's FN's event and how they are introducing Summer nights. I was wonder if in the future we will see a christmas event or even an easter event to try and draw more crowds to come during the April months. Considering April is usually a quite period for the park. Considering FN's has been a massive successes for AW it wouldn't surprise me if more events come about in the future and we have seen summer nights being introduced this season. USS do a good Easter event and christmas event if anyone is interested.
  10. ^ @AlexB Yeah I guess so. Its going to be interesting to see how it turns out.
  11. I believe they do have a bright coloured slide tower. However it took them ages to get approval so I think thats why they decided it was easier to go with those colours. @Jamberoo Fan correct me if I am wrong. Plus black/grey colour scheme matches a storm theme.
  12. Keep in mind these days coaster manufactures have been trying to use as little supports as possible. Take Valravn for example. Look how far away each support is.
  13. Keep in mind Cedar Point installing Millennium Force in 2000 and top thrill dragster a few years later. I know they are different coaster types but they built 2 coasters within a few years that both broke the record for worlds tallest and fastest. Beating their own record. It does happen in many parks around the world.
  14. Does DD queue line not have shade? From the near maps photo it looks like their is no roof just beams in the queue area.
  15. I don't think the perfect storm large tornado will not be enclosed due to the image that pro slides posted you can see they put the edging out on the tornado already. I am sorry if this makes no sense but I don't know how to say it. Compare the enclosed funnel and open funnel in the photo below. Also look at how the slide enters the funnel. Also they would not open a slide without finishing the water slide itself. Did they ever say it will be enclosed?
  16. Does anyone think that pro slides will ever make a Tornado Alley or whatever its called and have 3 Tornados 60's in it? Now that would be cool but wouldn't be cheap.
  17. I heard that their website was having issues as a lot of people were getting them today.
  18. Ok. I was working on making my own version of Disney Land. (on RCT3)
  19. I know it was a joke. I hope. Unless we want a roller coaster going through an enclosure with some wild animals. That will get the media's attention!
  20. @reanimated35 they are talking about MW's new roller coaster. Which if I remember correctly is what this thread was made for.
  21. They always make core samples of concrete when they pour something. Sometimes they crush them under pressure to make sure the concrete is strong enough for the force it needs to withstand. I know they do this on large buildings not sure about roller coasters but they keep core samples so they can use them if there is ever an investigation and they can make sure it meets the standards.
  22. I have ridden BSG and its launched lift hill is awesome. You start of slow and it builds speed very quickly. Something like a larger version of BSG would be good for MW.
