  1. That just makes me angry honestly, Dreamworld's staff have been doing so well since the accident being friendly and cheery, I know this is one staff member amongst many great ones, but it still annoys me that someone had to be like this on a kid's ride of all rides.
  2. There's no way to make motocoaster a thrilling ride without removing/retracking it, however a bit of solid theming or new trains would improve it greatly. Fix the parts of the ride that need fixing, then marketing it as a family coaster would make perfect sense, as a family coaster there's really not much wrong with the ride.
  3. "With a surprise or two" Chances of this are this are probably 1 in 100 but could they be possibly fixing the motocoaster, whether that be with a bit of a re-theme or new trains?
  4. Lighting is a physical object that's being added to the coaster, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a part of "construction". When the queue starts being built and there are elements of theming being put in, does that mean we're not allowed to talk about them here because they're part of the theming? NI loop is really starting to take shape now, looking forward to the big statement it makes out the front of the park.
  5. My god, if that was the case MW would just remove the back car since it wouldn't be used most of the year anyway. I could see it being $5 - same price as VR seems about right. 10 at most.
  6. That loop looks a lot like a Maurer non-inverting loop and not so much an Intamin, which is great since the more of a curve around the top will hopefully provide some decent airtime.
  7. I like how the colour's been confirmed and we're still arguing over it aaaaaand the thread returns 😜
  8. Why are we even engaging with POP anymore, can someone just run an IP check against him and then ban him when it does return the same as POP's. Dreamworld's best interests at the moment are to focus on the family audience, whether they do that by building a dark ride, new experience, or a simple but well-themed family coaster, I think that's what they should be focusing on (and by the plans that were revealed, they certainly seem to be going in that direction). Focus on family rides for the next few years, then they can consider putting in a big RMC 5 years down the track when they've gained back a bit of the "old Dreamworld" feel. Fighting MW's coaster with something similar just isn't going to work at this point in time.
  9. I'm not sure if that lady's awful acting is on purpose or not honestly.
  10. oh yeah, I always forget about that one how about we just pretend the question was "North America"
  11. No, but I see no point building a hybrid over a ground-up woodie (apart from cost reasons, but DW has no woodie to convert anyway). Wildfire is the only RMC outside of the US I believe (correct me if I'm wrong).
  12. I hope you're kidding, Mystery Mine looks like one of the worst Eurofighters out there - out of all the amazing ones you could've picked you pick that one?
  13. Yeah DW have enough one-trick ponies already, a dive coaster just adds another to their collection. A mad-house would be okay if done right.
  14. I'm not too big on a eurofighter for DW, when you can get a Mack big dipper that is just as compact, but combines inversions with a bit of airtime (and lapbars!) So was it Dreamworld's CEO or marketing manager that gave you that figure? Seriously dude, your Dreamworld hating is really making me believe you're another POP alt. Let me guess, you're anti-Sea World too?
  15. Well said, I think a lot of international and interstate tourists that come to Australia go to both MW and DW, if you're on the GC you might as well do both while you're there.
  16. I disagree. Dreamworld need something to bring those families back, if they just keep on ignoring that demographic, then yes they will stop coming. While most people here would love a massive coaster (myself included), Dreamworld just as equally needs a family attraction to replace the massive gap in their lineup that was created when TRRR closed. There's not really any major gap in their thrill-ride lineup at the moment, so I would completely understand if DW adds a family attraction or two in the next few years. Movie World and Sea World have some great family attractions, but I've personally always seen Dreamworld as the park that caters to families the best and I think they should continue that. Glad I'm not the only one getting POP vibes from this dude. Centred text, somewhat anti-Dreamworld, hmm 🤔🤔🤔
  17. I think Dreamworld are going down a different path now, with the whole "better not bigger" thing. I think MW will become the big "thrill" park on the GC, and Dreamworld will push more towards high-quality family-friendly experiences (think Disney-style) Because of this, it's hard to say, I think Dreamworld are trying to appeal to a different demographic to the audience that the hypercoaster is aimed at, so it's very possible that the hyper doesn't have much of an effect at all.
  18. Just a guess, but I'd expect all the major JL characters and their rivals to play a part, apart from maybe Aquaman and/or Cyborg. So Batman and Joker (obviously), Superman and Lex Luthor (could be Brainiac/Bizarro/Zod instead), GL and Sinestro, WW and Cheetah, Flash and Professor Zoom (this could possibly be Captain Cold or Grodd instead), potentially Aquaman and Black Manta.
  19. #theytried Can you please read the thread before posting anything else that's already been posted? Also I'm surprised they're still calling this the southern hemisphere's tallest and fastest coaster.
  20. Interesting, when I did it you could sit anywhere on the train, apart from the very front.
  21. Is it just me or is the track on the left just a recolouring of Superman? It's certainly not Mack track.
  22. Six Flags seems to put "The Ride" in everything, maybe VRTP thought it was cool to do something similar. Also, does anyone actually call it "Jet Rescue Coaster" any more? I disagree with people not knowing about DC, I think in today's world most people probably have some sort of idea what DC and Marvel are. I think just spending a day at Movie World would probably give you a good idea of what it was if you didn't have any prior knowledge anyway.
  23. Intensity is one thing, but a backwards seat could easily go too far and become nauseating.
