  1. Assuming they could actually secure one of the sound stages (which is unlikely with all the big films they seem to be producing), why on earth would you put one of the continuing mazes in there? I’m pretty sure they’d use the same Halloween/Jigsaw setup as this year and use the other shed and show stage for the two new mazes. I’d prefer them to go all-out on the new mazes than expanding the continuing ones.
  2. Wrong forum 😉 I thought the lights go up before Fright Nights?
  3. I'll be honest - if I was on that train it wouldn't really catch my attention. Text on that "ride features" sign needs a magnifying glass to read.
  4. 25 minutes? Maybe they misplaced a decimal point and meant 2.5 minutes.
  5. I disagree. UK and Germany both have multiple fantastic parks. While Port Aventura is one of the best parks in Europe, I've only heard "ok" reviews from Spain's other big 3. Meanwhile in Germany you've got parks like Europa Park, Phantasialand, Hansa Park, Heide Park, even Holiday Park for EGF alone. Similarly UK has Alton Towers, BPB, and Thorpe Park. Italy has two or three decent parks as well from what I've heard. If you're doing the Netherlands don't forget Walibi Holland and Toverland (which apparently is very underrated) if you can in addition to Efteling. I'm also heading over to Europe in a month, and while I'm not doing many theme parks (just DLP and Phantasialand), a lot of the parks do have Christmas events where they're open in winter. Just remember that at a lot of parks the major rides will still be closed in winter (which is why I'm heading to Phantasialand - where they aren't). I always find this website super useful: http://www.coast2coaster.eu/
  6. Yeah, between AA and the back of Scooby.
  7. $19 sounds a lot cheaper than $20 to a lot of people. To the park it's only just $1.
  8. Bumping up the price was a bad move. I understand that too many people are using it, but adding it as a $5-10 addition to the normal top-tier fast track option is a much better way to go.
  9. Competition for anyone who wants to win backwards seats: http://bit.ly/2k7ssU5
  10. I've also heard great things about the smoothness of most Macks, although we did see how Lost Rattly turned out, and I really hope that was just a one-off. I've also noticed that one train has noisier anti-rollbacks. Haven't been able to work out yet if it's the rattly one or not.
  11. My review: Arrived just before 5:30, and was pretty close to the front of the crowd to go to the mazes. Since we were almost right at the front of the crowd, and Jigsaw was right there, we were part of the third group in. It was okay, but didn't blow me away. Theming and lighting effects were amazing, but there were really only 1 or 2 good scares I got (probably the biggest was the guy with the chainsaw outside since I wasn't expecting anything else when I got out). I did find that the flashing lights made it a bit hard to get a good look at some of the actors. A bit shorter than Conjuring and FDTD since it shared a shed with Halloween. When we got out the queue would've been at least half an hour (maybe closer to 45m). Overall, 6/10 for me. Next up we headed around to the back of the shed to Halloween. 5-10 minute wait here, the tucked away entrance would explain this. A lot of Michael Myers actors in there, so much so if you tried hard enough you could probably catch two of them at once. I got a few good scares in here. Again, a little short though. 7.5/10. We then headed around to The Conjuring 2. Longest maze wait of the night for me, 20-30 minutes (but this didn't seem to get any longer as the night progressed). Also the best maze of the night. The theming inside is fantastic, so many great special effects with rattling doors and moving furniture. Some pretty good scares too. I really like how part of the queue is indoors, and they use the showstage lights to their advantage (and there's even some light theming). 9/10. After hanging around main street for a bit, we moved over to DC Rivals. Yep, this is where all the crowds were. Queue was advertised as 60 minutes, was closer to 75 for us, and since at one point the queue got all the way out to the test seat I'd guess it probably got to 90 minutes at one point. They had to close the queue at 8 since the queue was so long. Even the Fast Track queue extended to the bottom of the ramp (and would've been at least 15 minutes). Luckily the ride experience made up for it, at night it was the most insane experience I've had on this ride, apart from the backwards row (now imagine backwards at night!). It felt a lot faster than it did during the day, and because of this the twists were a lot snappier and the forces were much more extreme. And I finally got the row 3 ride I was wanting . Was it worth the 75 minute wait? Probably not, but I'm very glad I did it. 10/10 (of course). Finally we headed over to From Dusk Til Dawn. About a 15 minute queue. Not my favourite maze. I like how they've tried to add a bit of a storyline, and the theming is pretty decent, but there were no good scares at all. Quite long, but a little boring honestly. 4/10. Overall I really enjoyed it, but there was definitely room for improvement. Really confused as to why Jigsaw and Halloween shared a shed, they both could've been 8 or 9/10 mazes if they made them longer. Crowds were quite low around the mazes since everyone was at DC Rivals, if you were happy to skip DC Rivals I think you could've gotten each of the mazes done several times (except for maybe Jigsaw).
  12. A bit short. Halloween > Jigsaw. More coming later.
  13. Very excited for tonight (actually my first FNs). Any tips for a first-time Fright Night goer? (apart from the obvious like buy Fast Track, get there early etc)
  14. There were more people using fast track yesterday then there were going backwards. One of the sorters gave the fast track guests front seat, while the other one was letting guests in the main queue have it.
  15. 5th top it was meant to be 5 4 3 2 1, row 11 is definitely the best row on the train. I found that the back overall had stronger airtime (particularly over the drop and NI loop), but the front had more airtime moments (eg it's the only seat you really get airtime going over the dive loop).
  16. Yep, that's the one Dusk til Dawn is in (going by the sign in the background, you can't really make it out in the photo). The Jigsaw sign is obviously the entrance to the queue, so pretty sure it would be in the left shed (unless they've built an extra shed, which would explain where Halloween is).
  17. They give you a little card that you hand to the ride attendant when you get to the front of the queue.
  18. Can confirm jigsaw is in the shed (and dusk til dawn is in the same place as last year)
  19. Fast track can now be purchased for DC rivals for $15 (one use only)
  20. Just got 10 rides in a row, only got out of my seat to change rows. 2 each of row 1 2 9 and 10, and 1 each of row 7 and 8. Such an amazing ride 😮😮😮😮
  21. The dippin dots guy was having a good month of sales wasn’t he
  22. Probably going to head down for my early access (and first rides) tomorrow since it was so quiet yesterday, hopefully it'll be the same.
