Look! There's theming on Cyclone! Even if it's just checkered stripes, it's still theming! I really hope the inside is themed even more, and they've swapped the entry and exit around back to how they should be.

I hope not, Superman's loose items rules are really annoying. Although the accident didn't relate to loose items they might still increase the rules to make sure nothing different happens.

Adding onto Alex's comments - a repaint probably wouldn't add too much time to a maintenance season for the ride, they could easily have plans for the future, but they've decided to work on the more important matters first and get the ride open to the public quicker. Remember, they've also got the other parts of the area to work on to, it's not like the wipeout where that was the only thing they were doing.

Andrew actually had a good idea - just get rid of the motocoaster.

This is why they somehow have to make the mammoth effort to move the motocoaster out back onto the remaining thunderbolt land.

I wasn't at the park on Friday though, I think that deserves a new thread. Pretty important stuff.

The gold pass could cause some complaints though, with people walking straight onto rides.

I had a dream last night that they were repainting the Cyclone. I woke up this morning to find it was all a lie ;_;

I often find that New Year's Day is really quiet at the parks, especially in the morning. I've done all the parks except Sea World that day for the past few year's, and DW, WWW, and WnW all had very short queue's (WWW and WnW's started to grow as the day progressed but DW's stayed tiny the whole day). MW attracted a lot of family crowds and wasn't amazing, but it was still better than usual. After that though there is a boom in attendance.

This is what I believe to be DW's land, the satellite image is very old (there's still water in Blue Lagoon and WWW hasn't been build yet) so the land might also not be up to date, especially with land being bought for the Coomera Town Centre. The blue area is the land DW owns. Someone correct me if this is wrong:

Dreamworld TV has been in place for all the major attractions for a while now. I find it quite good for rides like the Claw and Wipeout where there's not much theming in the queue, but I do agree that it kinda detracts from ToT's atmosphere. But hey, at least it covers up that weird optical illusion that no-one really understood!

Yes It's Been Back Open For A Few Days Now

If it's a vest harness I might be hyped again.

Things needed to fix about the cyclone: 1) Replace the trains - done 2) Fix the loading area - done 3) Repaint the track - nope and most likely won't be happening 4) Actually put some decent theming into the queue - nope but can't rule this one out yet 5) Make the queue not just a giant ramp that takes ages to get up - nope and definitely won't be happening Dreamworld gets a 2/5 for this.

I do have to say the coloured trains go terribly with the track/support colour. Especially the back car, it clashes so much with the track colour.

Still can't tell if they're OTSRs or not... But nice photos! If anyone is there and it's still testing, it'd be interesting to see some photos of the new train coming through the bend in WWW.

New staff? Or 'training' the ride to not come off the rails this time.
