  1. DW Golden Years have just posted a story confirming the train is operating forwards and backwards now
  2. @TomiJ I did notice that, but wasn’t sure if it was just a dodge edit of the map or it will legit just be going forwards and backwards between the stations. I was thinking the train would be still doing to full circuit for a while, and would just not operate for a few months when construction was escalating. But maybe if they’re not messing around with demolition, the trains operation will already be impacted. I’m also interested to see if the pedestrian tunnel from tiger island to ABC Kids will be filled in and if a track crossing will be added.
  3. This note has been added on the park map page, which makes me think we might be seeing a new style of map coming next year.
  4. Dreamworld have just updated the park map on their website removing ABC Kids World, showing all the upcoming attractions set to open and a detour path will open between Tiger Island and the wildlife area. Looks like the gate next to the cub kindy will open and you will walk behind the billabong restaurant
  5. With the Play School Wheel set to close for maintenance from tomorrow, we could start seeing construction walls going up for the whole area any day now. It will be interesting to see if they connect Tiger Island to the wildlife area in some way so we don't have dead-end paths again for the next 12 months.
  6. Great to see they’re finally putting some effort into this area to make it less of a mess and easier to navigate this area of the park. If they do make it a grassed/planted area that will definitely be much nicer than how it’s looked since storm was built. And then hopefully long term we see new attraction/s.
  7. I read that the queue for Deceased was 2 hours at one point, and instead of the queue taking over the fair games areas, they use the HSD arena
  8. Must me part of their new management stratergy. Firstly they blame their customers for a ride's operations being reduced (Doomsday) and now this.
  9. Happy Halloween started with 3 nights last year, and within 3 weeks they had sold and 2 extra nights were added, which ended up selling. So far this year, one night has sold out, one is about to and 2 have been added. Spooky Nights had 6 nights last year, which I believe did all sell close to their respective dates. And so far only the second night has sold out. Tickets are still avaiable for tonights FN at the time of posting. So even with staff discounted entry they haven't sold out!
  10. And to add to this, if reviews are good and the event is getting good feedback, then people might decide that the price is worth it and then nights do start to sell out.
  11. Both would be great additions for Aussie World and hope for the parks lineup they add one (or why not both) of these. I have also throught that the Zamperla Nebulaz would be a good ride for DWs lineup. Add to Ocean Parade or if there's land leftover, Rivertown.
  12. Well it will be great for those who are willing to spend that much on a ticket (I'm not one of them), because the queues should be much shorter so you can do more. Even when tickets were cheaper, lines were crazy long and people complained they couldn't do everything, but they still sold out every night most years. For comparison (maybe an unfair comparison, but I'm doing it anyways), here's what Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando offers for their cheapest ticket (I've converted it to AUD and included tax). FN HHN $89 $150 5 Mazes 10 House 4 Precincts 5 Scare Zone 6 Rides 5 Rides 5 Hour Event 7.5 Hour Event - 6mth Peacock Sub Now I understand the budget for HHN is on a whole other scale and staff are paid slightly less (based off my findings, scar actors at HHN are paid around $25/hr, while at FN it's around $30/hr. But... I would say at $150, HHN would be worth it (for anyone who's been I'm interested to hear your thoughts). And while every other category is roughly the same, with double the amount mazes/house, should be the price be half? Around 10 years ago I believe the cheapest ticket was around $30-$40 and I'd agree that is too low. But maybe that $60-$80 is a better price range?
  13. I've never ridden one, but if Reef Diver and TailSpin had a baby would it be an Aerobat?
  14. But Aussie World is on the Sunshine Coast, yes it is within driving distance of the GC parks, but it's still far enough away that I don't think it matters if there are double ups on attractions. I think any of those rides are a good choice for the park, but I think the AirRace would be the best option (creates another thrill ride and family ride)
  15. Agreed, classic GCB I don't think a panel fell off, but they had to remove a panel to be able to manually lower the ride. The ride came to a stop and didn't return to its staring position. The ride was closed on Friday, but reopened as normal on Saturday
  16. @New display name cheers, that does indeed clear it up a lot more. It’s still surprised me a lot that they’re doing all this additional work to what seems to be adding new ways to get up close to the tigers. I’m sure this will be the case, but I do hope the new additions meet the same standards of how tiger island currently looks, because it’s definitely still the best themed area in the park. Was there any indication of timeframes for this to be completed and if this is stage one, how many stages are there and what else will this include
  17. Okay so I didn't dream that then! I was sure I had seen them, but couldn't remember if I'd imagined it or was thinking of Motocoaster's system. So if they still have that in place, why are locker's still a requirement then? And why aren't they using two trains during peak periods?
  18. This Tiger Island redvelopment was not what I was expecting. I thought it was just back of house works so the handlers don't directly interact with the tigers, and then I thought they were going to do stuff on the island to stil allow for presentations of some form. I am confused by where the development of the images above are? Is this replacing the exhibit/kindry area to the left of the island, or is to the lair area? And there constructing waterfalls and a play structure? @New display name is there anymore information of what this is in the tender?
  19. Definitley shouldn't be an excuse, but genually, does anyone know when they did last run two trains? If I remember correctly, there was a while when there was only one train on site and in recent years the second train returned, but hasn't been used? And isn't there a wall that seperates the load and unload stations? Could they not just have double sided storage boxes/lockers in this wall and that would solve the issue?
  20. If feels like right now you could walk into Dreamworld everyday of the week and there would be something new to look it. They are definitely playing catch-up after years of closures/neglect from former management, but it’s great to finally see the entire park getting some love.
  21. Wow, wasn’t expecting to ever see this. Definitely for Steel Taipan. I’d say we’ll be getting another ‘head-chopper’ moment with that snake body. Will be interesting to see where it’s pleased and how it fits into the environment.
