  1. The fact that this ride announcement has its own dedicated press conference at IAPPA, this is going to be good! I can’t imagine it’ll be something related to Motocoaster or any existing attractions because is that worthy of an announcement at a global event. Can’t wait to see what this is!
  2. Maybe not, but the splashdown pools are still empty. But you could be right about this because to operate all the slides they need at least four lifeguards (if it’s quiet enough) to operate them and so maybe they’re holding off until school holidays begin. I am surprised (or maybe disappointed) to see that the Wedgie wasn’t removed during the closure considering the park has confirmed it won’t be returning. And considering the fence around Triple Vortex looks temporary, hopefully that means it is and it will actually open this season. Photos from Jaggs Journey
  3. With WWW reopened, there’s a couple attractions with a delayed opening. Temple of Huey & Little Rippers are scheduled to reopen in a couple weeks. Triple Vortex is closed again and is apparently meant to reopen in October, but it was closed all of last season and possibly even the 2022 season. Makes me wonder if this attraction has got the same fate of The Wedgie (retiring). And another note, the speed slides of Fully 6 both still remain closed (presumably because the court case is still underway and they won’t reopen until that’s resolved). But essentially the WWW attraction lineup has pretty much returned to what it was 17 years ago. This park is in desperate need of a serious expansion.
  4. In Jaggs Journeys latest video, it shows that (unfortunately) the corrugated panels is visible on the front of the temple. Obviously final judgment will be reserved until complete, but based on its current state it is a shame that the temple theming doesn’t continue a little further down the side so it’s less obvious.
  5. @Noll_57 there’s less room than there was, but there’s certainly enough room for the newer carriages since they aren’t as wide as the originals
  6. I’d say every aspect of the ride will be new, but rather than saying the vintage cars are permanently closing (which people would be sad about) and here’s a new thing that’s basically the same (which people would complain/point out it’s just a new vintage cars), they’re saying it’s being ‘moved’.
  7. For everyone’s reference, this is the current view from Tiger Island
  8. This won’t happen until they develop the rocky hollow land for new attractions. They way it’s presented now is very tidy and well maintained, but it for sure the bare minimum that I’d expect. It’ll likely cost a couple hundred thousand to construct the new ramp and develop that area into something much nicer. The effort they did to try ‘clean up’ the ramping and stairs and hide the former rocky hollow station isn’t great, but again, until they are investigating into that area of the park it’ll remain as is.
  9. Anything’s possible! If DW are willing to pay and Intamin are willing to design a train to work with the correct wheel alignments for this track. But for me it doesn’t even need to be a spinning train, it just needs be a comfortable one!
  10. Motocoaster will close again for a couple of weeks in October, presumably related to the construction of MM
  11. Not sure if this change happened today due to this incident or was made prior, but the tiger presentations are now longer listed in the daily entertainment schedule. Also, on the Tiger Island page there’s this statement: “Changes are on the horizon at Tiger Island! With over $50 million invested in new attractions and area upgrades at Dreamworld, we're adjusting the behind-the-scenes operations and enhancing our guest-facing habitats. Our goal is to create more immersive and intimate experiences for our guests, allowing you to get closer than ever to our magnificent tigers. During the construction phase, you might notice some temporary changes to your visit, including reduced daily presentations and occasional absences of tigers from display areas. We’re working hard to minimize any impact on your experience and ensure the well-being of our tigers. For the latest updates and to plan your visit, please check our daily entertainment schedule here. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait for you to see the exciting new developments!”
  12. I’m not saying it is thrilling, I just think it will be the most ‘thrilling’. Like how Big Red Boat Coaster is the most ‘thrilling’ when compared to Play School Wheel and Huntly Dumpty Flyer
  13. I actually think Flight of the Wicked Witch will be the most ‘thrilling’ out of the four attractions
  14. They have. Storm, Jet Rescue and Vortex are operating today.
  15. I’m in the same boat with this, however Don’t underestimate the enjoyment you get out of the Vekoma suspended family coaster (unless you’ve already ridden one). They’re a lot of fun and have heaps of re-ride ability. I see Oz as being a family land, which Rivertown obviously is too, but again Rivertown is more exciting because of its originality and how well themed and detailed I’m expecting it to be.
  16. This is absolutely appealing. I understand standing up for your brand, but this is terrible. And it’s not the first time either. I saw him commenting on a post recently where he was threatening to cancel someones annual pass because they said something he didn’t like.
  17. One of the news channels stated: “can hold up to 280 people at one sitting” The same news channel said: “They specialise in smoked meats, stone baked pizzas, fresh salads and cater to every dietary requirement.”
  18. In Jaggs Journeys recent video he mentioned that Movie World have announced that the star cafe will be returning in the near future
  19. This announcement is very exciting though. For so many years most of us have asking for a themed and immersive restaurant and this should finally tick that box. And the Billabong Restaurant was consistently popular when it was open, so it’s great to see they’re bringing it back and tying it in to Rivertown too. I suspect the food will be mostly standard offerings, but might have a naming twist to suit the theme. Hopefully it proves popular so that it’s open every day (even during off peak) because I can see this becoming an essential part of guests visit.
  20. That’s more than Movie World have for several weeks, so in comparison this ain’t that bad.
  21. Their results presentation did say it was opening in 2025, but it also said the name was Jungle Jane’s. So I suspect, with their official announcement of the restaurant today it will be opening in 2024. Or Dreamworld messed with some crucial information in their press release
  22. I read through the results presentation from last week, but there’s a chance I miss interrupted this.
  23. Recently Coast Entertainment (operators of Dreamworld, WhiteWater World & SkyPoint) had their 2023/24 Financial Year Presentation. Here is a summary: Visitation was up 14.3% compared to last financial year, but international visitation is still down. Ticket sales value had increased by 3.1%. Revenue was up 3.8%, which is up by 29.6% compared to FY2019. They have no debt! And this is the first year they’ve made a profit since 2016. They had about $1 million worth of damages from the Summer storms. Their current main focuses as a business are safety, revenue, people and business transformation. Employee and safety scores remain higher than pre-COVID. Attraction operating time (excluding maintenance periods) is at 97%. Their Global Review Index (Score out of a 100 that is generated from online review parties; i.e. Google, Trip Advisor) for SkyPoint is at 90.8 and 87.6 for DW/WWW. For comparison, the Village parks sit at 80.7. Their solar system will be complete early 2025. Tiger Island’s transition will be completed in the first half of next year (no more direct human interaction). Some older attraction will be receiving upgrades to improve guest experience and extend attraction’s life. The land development (areas around the parks that the company own) application has been submitted and is under review by council. Rivertown (Jungle Rush & Motors) is on track to open in December (unless there are major weather delays). $24 million of this development remains to be funded next financial year. The Billabong Restaurant will become ‘Jungle Jane’s’ and will be a highly immersive restaurant, set to open late 2025. Overall, the park seems to be doing very well and there going to be some exciting investments in the coming years.
