  1. This is absolutely appealing. I understand standing up for your brand, but this is terrible. And it’s not the first time either. I saw him commenting on a post recently where he was threatening to cancel someones annual pass because they said something he didn’t like.
  2. One of the news channels stated: “can hold up to 280 people at one sitting” The same news channel said: “They specialise in smoked meats, stone baked pizzas, fresh salads and cater to every dietary requirement.”
  3. In Jaggs Journeys recent video he mentioned that Movie World have announced that the star cafe will be returning in the near future
  4. This announcement is very exciting though. For so many years most of us have asking for a themed and immersive restaurant and this should finally tick that box. And the Billabong Restaurant was consistently popular when it was open, so it’s great to see they’re bringing it back and tying it in to Rivertown too. I suspect the food will be mostly standard offerings, but might have a naming twist to suit the theme. Hopefully it proves popular so that it’s open every day (even during off peak) because I can see this becoming an essential part of guests visit.
  5. That’s more than Movie World have for several weeks, so in comparison this ain’t that bad.
  6. Their results presentation did say it was opening in 2025, but it also said the name was Jungle Jane’s. So I suspect, with their official announcement of the restaurant today it will be opening in 2024. Or Dreamworld messed with some crucial information in their press release
  7. I read through the results presentation from last week, but there’s a chance I miss interrupted this.
  8. Recently Coast Entertainment (operators of Dreamworld, WhiteWater World & SkyPoint) had their 2023/24 Financial Year Presentation. Here is a summary: Visitation was up 14.3% compared to last financial year, but international visitation is still down. Ticket sales value had increased by 3.1%. Revenue was up 3.8%, which is up by 29.6% compared to FY2019. They have no debt! And this is the first year they’ve made a profit since 2016. They had about $1 million worth of damages from the Summer storms. Their current main focuses as a business are safety, revenue, people and business transformation. Employee and safety scores remain higher than pre-COVID. Attraction operating time (excluding maintenance periods) is at 97%. Their Global Review Index (Score out of a 100 that is generated from online review parties; i.e. Google, Trip Advisor) for SkyPoint is at 90.8 and 87.6 for DW/WWW. For comparison, the Village parks sit at 80.7. Their solar system will be complete early 2025. Tiger Island’s transition will be completed in the first half of next year (no more direct human interaction). Some older attraction will be receiving upgrades to improve guest experience and extend attraction’s life. The land development (areas around the parks that the company own) application has been submitted and is under review by council. Rivertown (Jungle Rush & Motors) is on track to open in December (unless there are major weather delays). $24 million of this development remains to be funded next financial year. The Billabong Restaurant will become ‘Jungle Jane’s’ and will be a highly immersive restaurant, set to open late 2025. Overall, the park seems to be doing very well and there going to be some exciting investments in the coming years.
  9. But when there aren’t strong winds it can be open and make those guests experience better!
  10. It’s always funny when you hear someone else went and they have no complaints about ride closures. It’s amazing how people can over dramatise “there’s nothing open. There’s nothing to do. Everything is closed”, when really it’s only a couple of rides. Unless they haven’t been since prior to 2016 because since then a lot has been removed and in comparison there is a lot ‘closed’ because it’s non-existent.
  11. Only the Play School Wheel and Kenny’s Forest Flyer are closed for scheduled maintenance, what else was closed? I’ve found DWs food to be more reasonably priced for the size and quality. What did you get? There’s bench seats throughout the park, but they have seating in the main food area, kickback cove, opposite the dodgers, just to name a few. The entry prices align with the other GC parks and they’ve just introduced day ticket tiered pricing (depending on the day you visit) on their website. Not saying your opinion is wrong, but would be good to get some clarity on what you’ve said
  12. To be fair, these are a lot rarer than a system functioning as it should. But still wouldn’t warrant the clickbait tag line that they’d use.
  13. They’ve finally added a park map onto the website for WhiteWater World. https://www.dreamworld.com.au/park-information/park-map/ However, it seems they’ve forgotten to take The Wedgie off it because they have confirmed it has been retired. The park also released today a limited time off to get a season pass for WWW for $69 for adults and $49 for kids (pretty good value). Confirming the park will be open from Sep 7 to Apr 27. Good to see they are promoting WWW again because they have offered a waterpark only pass for years and they haven’t had a park map available for just as long.
  14. I know the new boats and load/unload procedures were required for the ride, but have they got less boats now or are operations on this ride just super slow. Because on a day where the park isn’t too busy and the major rides have a maximum 30 minute wait, why is WWF over an hour? Id they don’t have enough boats, they need to buy more. If it’s operations, they need to review them to try and make them as efficient as possible. Load/unload is never going to be as quick as it was with the moving platform, but surely it doesn’t need to be this slow?
  15. I really like this concept! Most of it is already there, it’s just the ‘Hollywood’ section that all over the place right now. If they demolish the villains area and whatever attraction replaces it, I hope they theme it to be either western or something more general that could tie into this idea of Hollywood.
  16. I hope most people have the same mind set so the park realises they can’t do this bullshit. The lack of effort is embarrassing. I know a lot still goes into creating this event, but not really offering anything new (especially no new mazes) is what I have an issue with.
  17. They transported them to a storage yard in Nerang and were then transported to be destroyed
  18. It’s been gone from the park maps, website, in-park signage/references for years!
  19. But they could do non-IP mazes? Surely they’re cheaper and in recent years their non-IP mazes have been so much better.
  20. Looking at this years events offerings in detail, the only thing that’s actually new for the event is two panic rooms and Bettlejuice being involved. Obviously the five mazes are returning and a couple of them are really good, but when this is also their third year at the event, it really doesn’t have the same effect as new mazes. They say the three precincts are new (this is also a downgrade as there’s usually 4 or 5), but two are on Main Street and sound the same as previous years and then there’s one towards the maze area, but it also sounds like previous years. The images they’re using for the precincts has also been used before. The horror encounters, while they haven’t had this before, they’re just using previous years maze costumes and now you can get a photo op with them, meh. The panic rooms, a couple of ‘new’ ones, not sure if they’re recycled versions of previous ones. And the other six they have available, I’m fairly sure some of them have been around for several years too. Theres also the other entertainment they have during the event and it seems to be a repeat too. So in conclusion, there’s not really anything new at the years event. And considering last years event was pretty weak, I’d argue based off the information we have, this year will be weaker. I’d love to be proven wrong and I can only hope that they’ve tweaked and improved last years offerings to make them better versions, but I have my doubts. The introduction of Bettlejuice is cool, but feels like it’s a potential waste if he’s just ‘hosting’ the event. There was so much potential to use that IP for a maze. And when the event now costs from $89, is 30 minutes shorter than last year and there ‘extras’ cost even more, I don’t think any aspect of this is worth it. Let’s hope they put some decent time and effort into the event next year and they bring five new mazes, actually new precincts and make this event exciting again. Otherwise, it’s not going to last much longer.
  21. Do they have rocks in their head? I’m pretty sure last years event received very little positive feedback and most of the mazes were underwhelming, especially DCeased. So unless they’ve improved the mazes (which I doubt), it’s amazing how they’ve taken what used to be a fantastic event and ruined that too. The ‘horror encounters’ sounds interesting, but it seems like it’s just meet n greets, which you could sort of already do with the roaming characters. I hope what ever they’re going announce with Bettlejuice is interesting, but otherwise this years event announcement is a big miss.
  22. Maybe Bettlejuice will be a 6th maze 👀 They’ve posted a teaser on their socials and on Instagram it has a countdown to midnight
  23. Oh I really hope they just haven’t updated the mazes page yet, because repeating some mazes for the third year in a row is bad enough, but no new mazes would be an actually joke.
  24. Definitely not, MWs efforts (whether it’s their fault or not) for Scooby Next Gen were horrible. I think (purely just my opinion on how it will turn out) it might be closer to the OG Scooby with practical sets, but more story.
