  1. You’d think so. The Flash is currently closed for unscheduled maintenance which could be related to Superman closure, but flash is still scheduled to close after Easter
  2. @TV15 possibly, but that could still be leftover from when that was the original opening date. Like how Scooby was ‘reopening’ June 3 because it didn’t appear on the calendar. My point being, the dates written had a from - to, but it was updated to just be from
  3. They would rather buy a new version of the ride, tell us it’s better, when in fact it’s so much worse (ie. Wipeout/Vortex)
  4. It’s funny how when it’s bearing the end of the ride ops shift they suddenly find this extra pace to get everyone through the queue so they don’t have to stay back (obviously this might not be the reason, but a funny thought)
  5. I’ve heard from multiple sources that the land did in fact cost $100 million, but I still don’t fully understand how. The cost did include the removal of Arkham Aslyum, all the site prep, new services and stormwater connections, coasters, theming, IP contract, etc.
  6. Well where the hell did they spend the $100 million if the lack of theming is because of the budget
  7. As it should be because the website says planned maintenance from February 10.
  8. Probably, but I don’t trust them to not just close it either. Just look at Bermuda, Looney Tunes, Monorail, Skyway, Vikings Revenge, Pirate Ship, Sea Viper, Aqualoop and Mach 5… just to name a few.
  9. Interestingly the reopening date for Batwing has been removed. Now I’m not saying it’s not reopening, but based on Villages reputation, this is a public service announcement to let people know they should go ride it this weekend… just in case!
  10. Probably a Village cost saving tactic. It’s not the first time the theme parks have had some miscommunication, so that could be what it comes down too.
  11. Looks like there’s a lot more themed fencing to come and the black mesh fencing was just temporary. Nothing short of world class…

  13. @New display name that’s (one) of the biggest issues with Village, no transparency about anything. And I don’t think at any point they’ve said there is more to come, they said it was officially open (with 14hrs notice) and that’s it. I think a lot of visitors/enthusiasts have said they hope there is more to come, but I honestly think what we see is what we’re getting. They might add some world class shade sails over some of the queues, but that’s about it. Dreamworld have openly said there is more to come because it was all planned to be ready for opening day, but unfortunately due to shipping delays and quality issues some of it wasn’t ready. So they said here it is, it’s officially open, but this isn’t the final product and it’s going to get even better over the next few months as new pieces arrive and are installed.
  14. Superman’s maintenance has been brought forward a couple of weeks and has already closed. Still scheduled to reopen April 4.
  15. Looking at the rides spec, it needs a clearance area of 16m x 35m So it would fit, but only leaves 2m for a footpath. However you’d want the pathway to run alongside the dolphin lagoons so the ride can swing out over the lake. Which would mean you don’t need the entire 35m envelope (as I’d say at least a third of that would be over water, like SW San Antonio).
  16. In the meantime, a quick measurement of the two rides. Vortex has almost 37m. While Tidal Surge is just under 30m. I didn’t include the queue area of Tidal Surge because that can be placed in a different location/orientation at our SW, but gives an idea of scale for the rides footprint (when swinging over water)
  17. Really good video and (unfortunately for VRTP) it all comes across as accurate, especially the ‘fear of dreamworld’ comments!
  18. @Levi you’d be surprised with what they could fit in that area of land. I’m sure it would all fit if they wanted, and if it doesn’t, take more land from the lake! I’m sure @DaptoFunlandGuy would love to overlay Tidal Surge from SeaWorld San Antonio on Vortex’s site for comparison!
  19. It’s now been removed from every part of the website except the map
  20. @DaptoFunlandGuy DWs latest post clarifies that if you have a booking for Jane’s you don’t have to pay the $2 entry fee.
  21. I agree, but my wish is they replace Vortex with one of these. Swinging over the water would be awesome.
