  1. @franky it’s been open for almost 4 years and you’re right in saying it pretty much hasn’t had a long maintenance period (I think the longest was a month around the time of the Giant Drop refurb). To my understanding the park were able to develop a maintenance plan with Mack Rides that ensure the ride does receive its proper maintenance, without compromising the guest experience. Checks happen out side of park hours, and they ensure they have a sufficient amount of stock for all the parts they may require so it doesn’t delay reopening. The biggest maintenance job is generally on the trains, but they schedule those to have maintenance completed during school terms, so they can continue to operate it with one train. I’ve witnessed first hand how some of these checks occur and it’s certainly an impressive, thorough and effective process.
  2. Maybe the marketing comes alongside the contract of using their land. Therefore they get paid for the use of their land/park/resources, plus they get free marketing. 2-0 equal 2…. Therefore $$$ for DW
  3. This corner of the park is closed at the moment due to the construction of the new attraction. I don’t necessarily think Constrictor needs to close for it and is likely just a cost saving exercise.
  4. On this, the markets weren’t on last weekend or next weekend while the pathway to Ocean Parade is blocked due to King Claw
  5. I doubt Dreamworld are providing anything for free and in fact the park is probably making decent money from this partnership and they’re getting a lot of advertising. If the Friday Night Games are indeed returning and occur within the park again, then it’s a way to show the country how good the park is looking and that people should return.
  6. Dreamworld just posted this and said they haven’t forgotten about the big announcement And maybe this is a coincidence, but Big Brother just posted this at the exact same time Considering DWs original posts about the big announcement had the same glitchy effect, I think it’s almost safe to say it’s this
  7. I think there’s been announcements in July before, but generally tickets have gone on sale alongside the date announcement.
  8. Just date announcements
  9. Agreed, tonight I’m just expecting date announcement and ticket sales and maybe a hint at the theme for this years event
  10. Movie World have teased that they’ll be making a Fright Nights announcement tomorrow night.
  11. @DaptoFunlandGuy of course because a) I know this coaster type does and b) the car is labelled as 26!
  12. Only if they got another coaster and called it B2
  13. @STRAWS you’re probably right, otherwise it would be all of the news that people got trapped
  14. Wow, that’s interesting, never heard of that happening on this model of coaster.
  15. I would get there early and meet up with your group later if they aren’t bothered about some of the rides you’ll be able to get on. When I visited, Mine Cart Madness already had a 4 hour wait at the time the park was advertised to open.
  16. Based on the comments section of the post on socials, they don’t actually reveal anything new and the article is purely clickbait.
  17. The park typically opens an hour before it’s advertised opening, so be sure to get there at least 1.5 hours before the opening time. Thats definitely the best order to do those three rides in, and then if you have time do Minions. If you don’t, you’re not missing out on much, but it’s definitely worth walking through the land because it has been executed really well.
  18. The Gold Coast Bulletin has shared an article that refers to the reopening of Scooby-Doo and is apparently preparing to unveil a new ride: https://bit.ly/4nPiylM
  19. Honestly, even with express for the major attraction, you probably won’t even have time to go this ago. I haven’t experienced the one in Orlando, but if it was me I would skip it and use your time more wisely for other attractions that get the longer queues that aren’t on your pass. Also, if you have Jaws on your pass as an option, don’t waste it. The wait time for Jaws generally isn’t that long, or go as single riders (your chance of being able to ride with your friend/partner is high on this one).
  20. Doomsday Destroyer is the perfect example of a 360 swinging attraction that sucked (partly because it wasn’t unpowered)
  21. Out of no where, USJ has just opened a replacement for Backdraft. Unfortunately it’s just a replica of the Villain-Con Minion Blast that can be found at Universal Florida (which I haven’t read or seen good things about). It’s great they’ve added a good crowd soaker attraction, but my initial reaction is it’s a shame it’s this (especially when Backdraft was so good).
  22. I’m glad it doesn’t complete a full invert because I don’t think the park needs a ride that does that. It has Seprent Slayer and Tailspin as their inverting rides. King Claw will have enough speed and forces that inverting would probably be too much for most guests and would make the investment not worth while. I don’t know if this is currently the case, but I’m fairly sure Luna Parks model was having issues and couldn’t do the inversion for some time???
  23. @Cactus_Matt even with the angles not being the same, you can clearly see the ride is much taller. And no it won’t go 360 degrees.
