  1. I think it still comes back to the fact that the GP still have the impression that they haven't replaced all the attractions they closed and the park is looking run down. For the first point, they would be right. They still need another four (at a minimum) attractions to get the ride count back up to what it was pre-2016 (and that's after the addition of Jungle Rush), but they need to have some major hero attractions. The park was known for rides like River Rapids, Rocky Hollow, Wipeout and TOT, and I think after they were all demolished (which I do unfortunately agree needed to happen) that's really when people started to say 'there's nothing to do'. Out of everything that was announced in November last year, I think the only hero attraction is Jungle Rush. Everything else is warranted and adds good value, but most guests aren't going to rush to the park for Dreamland or Flyer. Jungle Rush is probably the only exception to that providing the marketing is pushed really hard and the ride is actually very good. For the second point, I think they have been working very hard over the past couple of years to rectify that, but until they get people back into the park, that perception will remain. I think that's one of the reasons why they have the night markets, to get people into the park to see how good it's looking. The areas of the park they are showing off during the night markets are looking good, however there are areas that still need a lot of work (back of Ocean Parade and former Rocky Hollow area), but that will come in time (but they need to hurry, otherwise it's going to take a lot longer than they hope to get back to the 2.4million guests).
  2. I think @DaptoFunlandGuy meant it's consistent in the way that there is almost always wind (particularly at Sea World), not consistent in it's direction. Does anyone? Other than providing a great view, I don't think it has much else going for it (even as a family attraction)
  3. I assume that means it's $10 for unlimited rides each night. I think that's very reasonable and will do very well.
  4. Definitely would, but an even easier and cheaper option is to just have a fall in the floor so all the water falls back into the pool That’s a decent ride cycle time, should definitely make it feel like it’s worth it. Overall, I can’t imagine the ride queue will get too long because of how many riders it can get per cycle. However, there are less double seats so it’s possible that queue could get quite long, but single seats will be quick. The light mist will definitely be great in the summer heat, but was there pooling in the queue?
  5. I'm interested to know if it's like this through the whole queue (which I suspect it might) or if it's just pooling in this one area. If there is a fall in the queue area it should all fall back under the railing into the trough, or it's uneven and is falling into this one spot. Either way, perspex would be a quick fix, but I think it would be better (for deflect and look) to just have it full height.
  6. Unfortunately that seems to be the case. I’m sure they’ll tweak it more, but @Ogre just posted a video of staff riding it and this is the puddle at the front of the queue area I think $5 is a good price that will make it popular enough, but still make them some decent money. I think there’s 64 seats, so that’s a potential $320 per cycle if they fill every seat. And maybe they should have a ride all night ticket for maybe $15, which I think is low enough people would consider it if they want to ride it 3 or more times, but low enough that it isn’t a ‘Village Backwards Seat’ ripoff.
  7. Yes you can ride it at the night markets. It will be free for passholders and an upcharge for those who paid to enter the markets.
  8. I remember hearing (can’t remember who or what my source was), but I believe they were originally looking at having four attractions as part of the original Atlantis announcement. But decided they would delay one of the attractions for a future expansion in a few years. So maybe what we’re seeing on this land is for that?
  9. I appreciate that they've they still got them on display, particularly when they're decent floats. But why say this is the biggest parade ever, when it's got less floats? I guess there's the argument for why say ' the first ride-within-a-ride experience in the Southern Hemisphere' or 'World's most iconic wooden rollercoaster'. Because they can almost say whatever they want for marketing reasons, even if it's not true. Why not recetify the issues to get them going again then.
  10. Seems like an odd choice though for Aussie World. With all the solid and well executed additions they've added in recent years, why add something that would have been more fitting for the park 20 years ago. Any of the attractions that were listed as being added would've been a good choice
  11. Neither. Here is a photo of when the elevator structure was just installed and there is no sign of the existing building have new sheeting installed (the colour is all the same and there are no visible joints.
  12. Sea World's Maintenace Schedule for 2024 been published on the website Leviathan will be closing 4 times throughout the year and Trident will be closed for 3 weeks, but will reopen for weekends.
  13. Shockwave and Gold Coasters reopening have been delayed
  14. The Play School Wheels reopening has been delayed to Boxing Day, which is when I’d suspect the Big Red Boat Coaster to open too
  15. It’s like they actually considered the guest experience 🤯
  16. And if we classify Castaway Bay as a kids area, that opened on 18/09/2010, so it's at 13.3 years. And while they added The Reef in 2017 (which was a great addition), the Sky Fortress hasn't been open since pre-covid (not sure on when it exactly stopped operating) and the rest of the land has seen better days, so they should invest in bringing the Battle Boats and Sky Fortress back to their opening day standard. When you break it down like this, that is a very good point. I was mostly looking at it from the attractions themselves, but thinking about the land overall, you are very much correct. Which is now just empty land thats 'hidden' by construction fencing and has weeds growing widly because management can't make their minds up for what they want to do with it. There was the rumour it was going to be an arcade, but that seems to be cancelled and now they're building a carnivale duck game on the former Pounce 'n' Bounce land.
  17. And considering how long it was there, it definitley lasted well for most of it's life. And if they had extended the licensing contract, it definitley could have returned back to its opening day standard. Love a good chart, you're greatly appreciated for this. Consdidering it's age, it's definitley holding up well though and is just as popular as ever. Age why, absoltley and it would be great for the whole land to get some love. But honestly, for the most part, it still looks pretty good. Maybe outdated and needs more going for it, but in comparison to how Dreamworks was looking, it's doing alright. If it was up to me, I would complete a staged refurbishment of the whole land (except for Marvin as it's new and they gave RoadRunner some love a couple years ago). I would keep at least one of the driving attractions and despite being the oldest, I'd probably keep Speedy because the Drive School is such good real estate. They could create a whole new Looney Tunes indoor land and be inspired by what was done at Warner Bros World, Abu Dhabi.
  18. Scooby has always had this If they’re keeping the seperate load/unload stations (I really hope they are), then storage boxes are unlikely. If there are lockers, that won’t make wait times or loading worse, if anything it might help a small amount
  19. All true, but as a themed land (particularly in its early years) I think it’s one of the better themed lands on the GC
  20. I don't think it's necessairly a bad thing though. I think Gumbuya did a great job with TNT. Theme, story and presentation has been executed very well. So it should make want VRTP to step things up a little and make their version 'world class'. But from Gumbuya's perspective, it should make them feel like they are able to compete with the Gold Coast parks despite them being a (regional?) theme park in Victoria. We see copies of attractions all of the world, there are small parks that will have the same/similar attractions as the big guys (Disney, Universal, etc), but the difference is they step it up and take theming and story to a whole new level, which is what makes it a better experience. Because it was a poor choice of ride and was originally picked without much thought, but was a way to boost attraction (and thrill ride) count up to compete with the guys down the road. Long term that thought process back fired and ended up costing the park way too much to operate/maintain, hence why they sold it off. And attraction like this is why the current management take a lot more care in selecting attractions and who is the manufacturer of that attraction. They did a lot of culling, which has hit hard on their overall attraction count. But eventually we should start to see that number increase to make the park feel more complete once again.
  21. Signage and a few bits of theming were being finished off at the time of opening https://www.parkz.com.au/update/2012/04/03/294-April_2012.html I believe they are currently building a shade structure in front of the carousel/planes (which will be in front of the coaster entrance). And I think there are plans for some other shade structures throughout the land because they did have some decent shading near Pandemonium that parents would use a lot, but while the coaster is under construction that’s been removed
