  1. Your very own DC Rivals update for the 24th of June 2017. (Photos taken between 5:00 - 5:15pm) Comparison Shot 1 Comparison Shot 2 Non-Inverted Loop Lift Hill Storage Lot Lots more supports have appeared over the past week - and only two track pieces currently reside within the storage lot; however there are four shipping containers in the area.
  2. "For safety reasons, only blindfolds purchased from Dreamworld may be used on the night and cannot be used on Giant Drop, Buzzsaw and Hot Wheels SideWinder. Blindfolds will be available for $4 from various outlets upon arrival at Dreamworld on the night. Safety regulations apply." Get your very own $4 blindfold - it has the Dreamworld Safe! tick of approval and we won't allow it on these three (major) rides. (but Tower of Terror is completely fine!) However, if you want a similar "Dreamworld Blindfold" experience on the three unavailable rides, feel free to close your eyes. Really Dreamworld? Blindfolds at night? That's all you could come up with?
  3. @Slick was right... the coaster is the same height as Green Lantern! I really wish I thought of that when I was doing the actual post.
  4. DC Rivals Update for the 17th of June 2017. Comparison Photo 1 Comparison Photo 2 Non-Inverted Loop and Pretzel Helix In-Park (and Lift Hill) As seen from Batwing Spaceshot The concrete laid in the area was for the Maintenance Bay. There is a stack of track (or something that looks oddly super similar to track) towards the back of the site As well as some catwalks - most likely for the brake run whereas the other catwalks (in the car park) will be for the lift hill
  5. Area constraints. (It's both the lift hill and first drop supports) As you can see there's not much room, the park needs to retain the emergency entrance road to the left, and obviously can't reroute the main entry road. (and yes, they COULD reroute it, but it's not exactly financially feasible, nor required) So yeah, hopefully that's a decent enough answer.
  6. Your update for the 10th of June 2017. (and probably my largest so far) Comparison Photo 1 (Stengel/Inclined-Dive Loop): Non-Inverted Loop is becoming more and more visible with each passing week. Comparison Photo 2 (Non-Inverted Loop/Pretzel Helix): They positioned the construction vehicles in the worst possible places. So here's an alternate angle on the loop. Lift Hill: Green Lantern = Current Lift Hill Height Storage Lot: In-Park: In park shots will be so much easier once Lantern has reopened. Footbridge: Other Shots:
  7. Your on-the-ground update for the week, Saturday the 3rd of June, 2017. Lit-up fence toppers! Preparatory work is underway on the pillars for the rest of the fence (section shown below is underneath Stengel Dive) - Not a great photo, but it was the most obvious of all of the pillars; and it's proof of progress on the fence Anyway, onto construction updates; work on the loop entry is progressing. and now for the two comparison shots; back to the dusk shots, next two weeks will be day-time (assuming I can still get to the park)
  8. Okay, so you guys really don't leave much to cover; but here are my two weekly comparison shots. (Photo's taken around 11am this morning) Now that the final segment of the Inclined Dive Loop has been completed, only the higher peaks of the ride will make this shot different. (I mean, obviously, though, right.)
  9. Here's my weekly photo contribution. Had to include this one because, I think, this is a great photo. I'll continue doing the two shots below until there is no more construction in-frame. I can't tell if these supports are going to be for lift hill or loop; maybe one of you can hazard a guess. I think the fact that we cover these new attractions so extensively really shows how much we love new attractions, maybe the parks should invest in them more often Below you can see the loop entrance (right) and exit (left) with the helix's and cool twisty-ness all around. Another "because I thought it looked cool" photo. Okay, maybe two... And this is the turn after the airtime hill. Lookin' real twisty.
  10. More vertical construction on the main building New marker-things (weren't there last weekend) have appeared outside the temp fencing and looks like the studios are preparing to utilise the pool/tank
  11. Supports going up in first drop/return section. More #9 supports have arrived. (Only mention this because they appear to be the lift hill supports) Another angle on the mess of supports Oops... and to finish it off (and because I like panoramas) here is one from underneath-ish the Stengel Dive
  12. "Parkway Patisserie and Grill" Sorry for the funky quality, it was through one of those 'translucent' roller doors. (Inside DreamPics/Kodak)
  13. Alright folks, here's your photo update from around 4:45pm today. As per the (NL2) model, the turn under the Stengel Dive has received a few supports. I believe they were doing the turn-around supports today, as most of them are unfinished. and finally a panorama of the turnaround area The next piece to go up is Piece #66
  14. Speakers are broken. (Initially only a few speakers were not working, one or two in a certain car, and then a few cars were turned off, and once the ride returned to operation after maintenance they were all off - so, technically, some are broken, the rest are just off)
  15. Here are some snaps! The arms are currently in the graveyard, these photos below are from the 10th of April, so not the most recent, but they're an indicator none the less. Something not in the photos, is that orange fluorescent tape was on the joints near all of the gears. (where the arms connect and spin from, to make that clearer!) Seats and Harnesses were no where to be seen Counterweights, one located either side --- And the below photos are from the 31st of March: Harnesses were still on the gondola, seats on the wave behind
  16. Photos taken on Sunday (26/02/17) Wipeout's water jets (I don't know what else to call them) have been removed. These have been repainted: (Most likely done when the park was closed, just hasn't been noted until now) They added a small portable fan at the base of the stair section of the ToT queue recently. (Sorry that it's blurry, my camera doesn't much like... actually I'm probably just bad with the camera) New markers have appeared; there is also another one off-frame to the right, closer to the ToT tunnel. Probably nothing major. The only marking I could see, another had a lot of scribble on it, but nothing readable. Dronkey Flyers should be reopening tomorrow, however, this was how it looked on Sunday, All of the carriages have been repainted and are on pallets off frame to the left. It's been mentioned multiple times, but I have to say it again, I love this wall along the entry of Tower of Terror, but I wish they gave this ToT control room the same love.
  17. Wasn't finished typing up the post at all haha, wasn't even sure if I was going to post it even if I had finished it, so I suppose I've forced my own hand now But to actually answer your question, I'd love to see a non-DC themed family area at Movie World. Possibly themed to a different family IP, Ice Age maybe, I'd love to see a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed area (the most recent film), the theming in either area could be top-notch and great for photos But the area (Chocolate Factory) would have a decent sized Big Thunder Mountain style mine train coaster through the factory, and some family spinning rides. An Augustus Gloop themed tower ride anyone? My ideas are quite vague, but I'm not a very creative person, which is why I pose the question to the Parkz community, because I know you all have some great ideas for the parks and I was hoping some people would be willing to share those
  18. Are there any themed areas you guys would like to see added to our parks in the future? What and where? Such as a futuristic themed area or maybe an Intellectual property you'd like to see transformed or adapted into a new themed area. Which park would you like to see the theme at and why do you think it'll fit there over another park? --- Joz has in the past showed what a boardwalk/pier style area would look like at Sea World. Which would be something I'd love to see become a reality. A Futuristic/Sci-Fi area at Dreamworld or Movie World would be great to see, if done correctly. (obviously) I'd just love to see what you can all come up with Note: I'm not happy with the way I've phrased this post (at all), but I accidentally posted it before I was finished...
  19. Looking at the preview videos and the concept map from one of the linked articles, it looks like the slide lineup will consist of: Boomerango + Manta Constrictor + Abyss AquaPlay APX Variety of Kids Slides MatBlaster Racing Slide (Shown in the post above) Wave Pool FlowRider Constrictor Rattler SuperBowl Inner-Tube Slide Slideboarding AquaLoop Speed Slide
  20. I had an update all typed up and my internet dropped out as I tried to post it... so yay, attempt #2! Tiger Island While at a glance the area looks complete and really great. It's actually very incomplete with bits and pieces everywhere. I definitely think the island is a massive improvement though. I just wish everything we thought was coming would be open and complete. The entrance and The Lair The merchandise outlet; Tiger Bazaar edit: When you walk into the store you are welcomed by a very strong scent. Usually parks hide the source, but Dreamworld likes to make things obvious... (for safety reasons I'm sure, but still) The Food and Beverage outlet; Island Noodle Hut The unfinished and unopened bathrooms... Paint details... The themed seating is so much better than just plain rows of concrete. Even one of the lizards came to check out the island. Unfortunately Dreamworld could not afford Jamie Duries advice for this final bit of gardening. These fences are held together with zip ties, I'm sure that'll keep any idiots out of the enclosure. Tiger Cub Kindy I wonder how long it'll stay like this... more than 1 year? I think so. (Well, maybe just the enclosure, not necessarily the shop and ZE building) General Update Giant Drop entrance tlc is complete. Blue Lagoon is no longer visible... is this just a means for hiding the past or the future? Tree Kangaroo enclosure has been completed. Oh and I found the Bat Cave!!!... or Bat House but close enough. The horse drawn carriage that was once found near the Rapids entry has returned as an accessible 'attraction' for guests.
  21. Likely within the last two weeks. (Week 1: West Gondolas were off; Week 2 (This week just gone): East Gondolas were off)
