  1. Hi Oak Glad you had a great time. Your points raised are valid and common sense would suggest it would improve throughput. The reality though is that we have tried this over and over and regardless of how loud and assertive our team members are it takes longer to call up two riders or single riders than it does dispatching a raft with 3 people in then loading the next. That is partly a design restriction because neither ride has a single rider queue race. the only way around that is to allow single riders into the Fast pass queue? Mark
  2. Hi Adam Probably 2017. There will be investment next year but it will be mostly infrastructure, capacity, presentation, shade, audio etc. then fingers crossed another world class attraction in 2017 and 2019. If the people keep coming then we will keep investing and improving. Mark Not confirmed but we may be making a few small changes next year. Sorry I can't elaborate at this stage.
  3. Hi all. Apologies for not being active for a while but we have been very busy with trading going very strongly. As always we are trying our best to fix up any issues that arise at the start of the season. This morning we completed the addition of the cream strip running the entire length of the hill, from Wahoo Speed slides base to the very top of the hill. This strip is far better quality than the old painted white strip we used to do in house and should be good for 3/4 years. our team have tested the surface with their own bare feet and canvassed feedback from many guests who have all said it is a much cooler surface. We are also chasing our shade contractor for themed options for additional shade at the top to cover some small gaps in the queue race at certain times of the day as well as provide shade on big gate days when the queue for Kraken spills out of our queue race. Our new fairy tree house is now installed in DK and our new website is receiving final tweaks before going live in the next few weeks. The DK show is being revamped behind the scenes ready for the peak period and should be much improved for the under 5's. Season pass sales are significantly up on previous years (on top of big growth every year for the past 4 years) and discussion is taking place about potentially dropping our mid-season season pass sale this year for the first time. Whilst we strive to deliver great experiences for our guests now we naturally have our sights set on future years product development for MI3 and other works building momentum. Talk soon and do please keep your feedback coming as we do find it both helpful and interesting. Mark
  4. This error has been picked up already and being rectified with the permanent park map signs, along with Kraken references which were hidden previously for obvious reasons.
  5. Thank you everyone for the great feedback. I think it turned out well. It is always an interesting journey from idea to conceptual drawings and then onto delivery. Budgets are always a challenge and there are still a few tweaks to get it the way I would like it but it is 95% there and we are all extremely pleased with the result. Here's hoping for strong growth this season so we can carry on upgrading and improving. I should note that aside from talking credit for the original idea for the theme the congrats should be spread to include Atomiq who produced the conceptual designs, Theme builders over in the Philipines for all of the fiberglass theming, creative works who painted 80% of the theming and our Engineering and Maintenance team led by the dynamo that is Chris "Stimmo" Stimson. The project wouldn't have been possible without the continued financial support and vision of our Board. Watching the first rafts go down on Friday morning, seeing the excitement and trepidation, hearing the excited screams of guests as they entered the first drop from the launch, it was good to think that the slide will entertain so many hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) during its life span and will probably still be delivering those wows in decades to come.
  6. Guys Sorry this was the worst kept secret over the past few months. Relieved that we can now talk about Kraken and put Mi2 in the museum (coming at some point) The theming detail finer points are being applied right now ready for Friday and looks really great. It will be good to get others feedback. Regards Mark
  7. Great photos, thanks for sharing. The Freefall should be back in operation in a few weeks time. Unfortunately we were badly let down by the supplier of new shock absorbers from Germany which were due to arrive mid July and just turned up last week after months of chasing. We are having a slight "speed bump" with Mi2 but hope to have this resolved in the next week to two weeks. We are certainly working hard on the glitch. I have tested it and I can report its pretty cool. The new website is also a few weeks behind schedule but we should have changed the existing website in any case so thanks for pointing out.
  8. Hi, my humble opinion, for what it is worth, is that Jamberoo would easily be my preferred destination for a fun day with my kids than Wet n Wild Sydney. For their operational excellence, theming, landscaping and the way all of that hinges together in a journey of discovery. Mark
  9. it is possible to pay the difference to upgrade.
  10. Good morning. The Car Park is owned by the state and run by Cockburn council under a management order. They licence it to us. This new path has been agreed together but is being installed by Cockburn so sadly no new signage. YET. It is planned (but not yet confirmed) to fully refurbish the Car park next winter. #Long overdue. Still looking likely MI2 will open to the public Sept 30th. Mark
  11. Abyss has some additional signage going into the queue race to bring the druids to life a little more. we are also testing out a little sensory addition inside the building next week so hopefully that works well... emphasis on the word "little". Otherwise its just the same Awesome coaster as before. Mark
  12. Correct, we have always stated early October. That said, its possible it might open earlier, depends on weather, testing/commissioning and water tests.
  13. Sorry Alex. All, By way of an update, the theming is now starting its install on Mi2. we still have a fair bit of painting to do and fingers crossed the weather is kind to us. Its even more impressive than I first thought. Bumper boats is also starting to take shape and will be a significantly improved experience this year. 6 new cabana's are in, 3 around the main lagoon pool and 3 adjacent to the lower pool of Dragons Kingdom (Dragons Falls) for the very young families. Much work has been going on with the food range which of course I have found time to taste test. (ITS A TOUGH JOB BUT SOMEONE'S GOTTA DO IT!) There are some great improvements coming along there. We have added a Tiki themed arch sign for the Tiki bar and in the off periods are going to be releasing dates for groups to hire this area out as a super cabana! just finalising operational details then hopefully it will be available for people to start booking out. New small theming details have been added to Dragons Kingdom and its really starting to look lovely. New surfacing is being laid on the Alpine Mountain ascent and connecting roads to castle, Black widow and Abyss, all of which were in poor condition. Alpine Mountain has a new name........ as do all of the slides. The name and theming reveal for Mi2 will feature on Today Tonight around the 14th. New website is coming along but probably wont be ready for season open, more like mid October. Upgrades to the e-commerce platform behind the website have been done and are now live. This has resulted in the halving of time it takes to process a season pass and with an expected 30,000 + passes being sold this year that's a big win (among others) We just had our best ever turn out for our team auditions resulting in a brilliant 1 in 8 of those who turned up being offered a position, resulting in a very high calibre of super friendly, smart and motivated people to complement our excellent returning team members from last season. There is a ton of more little things going on around the place and the energy and pace is frenetic just now. We are all very excited though about the coming season and really looking forward to opening the gates up one more time. Regards Mark
  14. Hi Alex, unfortunately we negotiate ride purchases confidentially and are therefore unable to discuss purchase price numbers.
  15. Total Project including all theming, lighting, signage, queue races etc. etc.
  16. NOT NECCESARILY.... BUT MAYBE. DEFINITELY NOT ALL OF THEM, PERHAPS SOME? PERHAPS NOT?
  17. At this moment in time and for the foreseeable future, correct. Sorry.
  18. Umm, I am not going to give too much away but there "might" be a couple of semi-translucent sections along the long journey? Some solid financial considerations Alex. Generally if you take the price of the attraction (ride or slide) then basically double it for all of the other costs associated with install and operation you won't be far off the total project cost. I know most of our industry colleagues at other parks concur with this simple rule of thumb. Most of the costs are in the foundations usually.
  19. Hi Tim Around the 7th September. Hopefully TT will come back and do a name and theme reveal as they did with Abyss but not confirmed.
  20. All We are looking into this and will get back to you with an answer. It wont be for a few weeks yet as our external Engineer that signs off the rides will take a look into this. It would be great if we could rectify the issue. We are acutely aware of the number of people that will want to use the chairlift this season. The road leading up to the top of Alpine Mountain (as it used to be know) is being completely resurfaced with a light red bitumen so should be a lot cooler and smoother on bare feet! I saw the mi2 slide name sign painted up today... its really looking very cool. Mark
  21. Hi Adam Platinum SP details are planned for release tomorrow with the sale starting on Wednesday. Note there is no "Early Bird" price discount on these. We have been slightly held up by some associated Platinum merchandise deliveries which are now due to arrive at AW on Wednesday so our apologies for the slight delay. The speed of the lift has been rectified (it was operating for a while on a very slow mode that no one here picked up till someone mentioned here (thanks whoever that was) We also have all chairs back in action now where we were a little short at points last year. I fear we will still have fewer people coming down than going up which does mean alternate loading for the correct balance.
  22. Good morning. Guests can take the chair lift to the top.... Mark
  23. Thanks for the follow on comments. Ref TOT shack, we agree and this has new shade over the queue race at the top this year so that will hopefully lift its appearance slightly but a total refurb of water mountain is some time away but is on the plan. Rome wasn't built in a day!
  24. All of the old Alpine Mountain slides, minimal theming at this point but hopefully will add more next year.
