  1. This is too funny how ironic lol maybe village saw the pic on here and called Mack for a repaint lol ultra troll level for movie world ! Barbie THE RIDE confirmed!
  2. The first enterprise was also manufactured by SDC if you look at the paint work on the cars of both the avalanche (pre nickelodeon) and first enterprise they are almost identical in design the first one had a better ride experience in my opinion the meshio one that replaced it Was much slower SDC model the first Dreamworld Enterprise and the meshio model the replacement which became the reef diver
  3. Yes but the tazzie devil was a smaller version than the traveling versions and the one in Luna park Melbourne if they still have it
  4. The Avalanche was one of my favorite rides at Dreamworld as a kid was beautifully themed in the 80s/90s with the log cabin entrance and waterfall coming down the mountain the Bavarian village around it and the yhetti above your head with glowing red eyes inside when the lights went out in the mountain it went pitch black so it was a unique experience than other Matterhorn rides and it was quite a fast ride in its early life before its reskin for nickelodeon kids area
  5. Yeah the operator said when it stopped before starting up again to go backwards non English speaking tourists would not understand the English announcement that the ride was going to go in reverse think the ride is over and Start getting out of their cars before the reverse cycle began
  6. Hey everyone I didn't want to start a new topic and I think this thread was the closest fitting for my questions A: does anyone remember in the 80s and 90s the avalanche ride having a yhetti with white fur with red glowing eyes inside the mountain B: a ride operator once told me the avalanche also went in a reverse cycle when it first opened but international tourists didn't understand and got out in between change of cycles and so they stopped it going backwards does anyone remember it going in reverse? C: when It got removed for pandamonium did it get sold and if so where is it now? D: was the speed purposely reduced when it was converted to angry beavers spooty spin?
  7. I'd dare say they will remove some or all of The old luge tracks with the new expansion it's been there for years rode them one or twice as a kid was a separate upcharge attraction with an indipendant company leasing the land in Aussie world I think if I remember correctly as it wasn't included in Aussie worlds ticket price back when it was just the voyager simulator the luge and the pub and that wild life show /display
  8. Finally a coaster that beats thunderbolts record lets see how Dreamworld responds to this!
  9. My friends in the U.K. Don't believe it's going to actually happen it's like the " proposed " parks news we get here all the time like wonderland 2.0
  10. I think the media is a complete disgrace scaremongering the park going public just for views and ratings its pathetic
  11. Farewell to the ranger another World Expo 88 legacy ride heading to retirement with the UFO now we only have the breakdance and troika left and the three coasters that are still operating in overseas parks it sad but was bound to happen eventually like most machines they all have an expiry date let's hope it gets a new owner who will lovingly restore it
  12. I like the ad I love that they are focusing back on what Dreamworld was founded on "fun for everyone" instead of the thrill seeker demographic hopefully we see more family rides in the park to follow up on the new focus They should of brought back a new version of the 80s Dreamworld one day holiday ad that would be cool
  13. If I remember correctly the luge was an upchsrge attraction not included in aussie worlds ticket price as it was operated by a difrent company it was there LONG before Aussie world became a fully fledged theme park I remember a time where Aussie world was just the luge tracks and the motion simulator and the pub
  14. If they stick with the gold mining /goldrush theme which is probably unlikely I'd love to see an expansion to make the theming flow and better connect rocky hollow and the giant drop areas more effectively. Expand the rockwork of eureka over the TRR footprint put a vekoma minetrain or some other thrilling coaster with inversions in the mountain mine setting perhaps like that mine ride at Dollywood? And expand the town of goldrush "town /colonial mainstreet area" down into the blue lagoon amphitheatre area add a gold rush/western themed restaurant and little more retail with room for a flat ride/dark ride or live show like a bush ranger /stunt show? Just my random thoughts most likely though it will just get a total retheme which is sad as the park was all about "Australiana" theming
  15. I'm hoping it's nothing to do with DC comics and they actually theme it around a Warner brothers movie. Kinda getting repetitive with all the DC themed rides in the park now
  16. If they have basically gut 95% of the theming ....I speculate a complete retheme on the cards I could be wrong I understand it's being removed for OH&S but why rip it completely out just to replace it with identical theming? I think either it's a complete retheme or a fresh new Scooby storyline
  17. One thing that disappoints me about most of Australian theme parks these days is their lack of family rides, Large capacity ones like the captain Sturt paddle wheeler flume rides (Bermuda/loonytunes) or dark rides (gremlins/backlot tour) without really tight restraints and triple lock lapbars that even if your slightly bigger or tall won't fit that plus size guests can ride or enjoy I have a family member who misses out on some rides with us as they are plus size due to medical condition Disney seems to be very accomodating for larger guests it's a real shame having more high capacity family rides and attractions would benefit not just the plus size community but act as a sponge for crowds on very busy days it's a shame the current trend is focused mainly on thrill attractions
  18. I heard they are working on a donkey Kong mine cart ride featuring a false incomplete track under the ride car with the real track hidden to give the illusion the cart is jumping the gaps in the track like in the Donkey Kong country game
  19. You know what would have been cool?.... they could of breathed new life into Bermuda by renovating it adjusting the story line and making it a lazer shoot ride like buzz light year Astro blasters in Disneyland a ghost train that had been in operating since the 90s in Alton towers in the UK got converted to this and made the attraction popular again !
  20. I think it can I mean Dreamworld has been here for 30 plus years with out many serious incidents until now they just need to focus on investing heavily in the redevelopment of the park (gold rush/blue lagoon/rocky hollow) and keep up what they have been doing with the refurb work the park is starting to look world class again they really are brining back the charm the park used to have. I look forward to see it bounce back and continue to be a great success!
  21. This explains why they removed the skyway cable car earlier this year in preparation for the removal of Vikings revenge. Yet again so sad to see it go fond memories or riding it 8 times in a row non stop because the park was quiet and no one was queuing lol
  22. I agree that the reason it's closing is that it was an in house design back in the early 70s/80s it was very expensive to import ride systems from America and Europe so a lot of early attractions were made cheaper in house on Australian soil however today's safety standards demand that rides come from a industry aproved experienced ride manufacturer perhaps they will replace the log ride with a new log flume system seeing as it was one of the most popular family attractions in the park ?
  23. So glad I got to ride it when I was a kid farewell eureka it was fun while it lasted was such a unique immersive ride experience that could never be replicated today
