Disneyland Australia; will it EVER happen?
Themeparkfan replied to SunshineTom's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I heard many years ago that Disney planned to build in Australia but due to the local government not supporting the project and not offering finance and land subsidies ect they chose to build In HongKong instead -
DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion
Themeparkfan replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think this will be great for movie world will make it stand out from the other parks for sure the Gold Coast parks have not had a decent large scale signature roller coaster since Dreamworld removed the thunderbolt (in my opinion) -
Absolutely agree it's a classic SeaWorld favorite. I really think it's just maintenance work and it will be back better than ever
-
A vekoma runaway mine train would fit perfectly in the footprint of TRR with the right mountain/rock theming to fit with the old eureka mountain theme

Sea World future attraction ideas
Themeparkfan replied to Flynn_Smith's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think they should install a new flume dark ride attraction like journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando something thrilling yet family friendly and high capacity -
I like the idea of merlin being a potential buyer they have been heavily investing in Australia of late. I really hope dreamworld try's to turn their bad luck around and the park eventually gets back on its feet wether that be with a new owner or not I just hope it doesn't become a victim to blood sucking property investors like Australia's Wonderland
-
They are most probably replacing all the of the flume I don't think much of the flume tubes have been replaced since the 70s. (As far as I'm aware) minus the area around storm /Bermuda Which has been rerouted a few times over the years

I totally agree I can't see gold rush country reopening the way it is now with 3 SBNO gold rush attractions eureka skylink and now TRR and the incident now attached to it. I think they will either demolish the current ride system for TRR replace it with a new intamin system With a new name or demolish everything minus buzz saw and possibly retheme the whole area but I think the first option would be the cheaper and more logical way to go

Thunder River Rapids incident at Dreamworld
Themeparkfan replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Really? I thought The manufacturer would then be liable if it was a factory flaw ? -

Thunder River Rapids incident at Dreamworld
Themeparkfan replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
the thing is that with the smiler incident the people survived with the Rapids incident were looking at one of the worst the theme park accidents to have occurred globally. In recent times 4 tragic deaths which could have very very huge consequenses at best it's a computer / manufacturer malfunction and clears dreamworld and ardent of any wrong doing at worst it's a maintenance neglect issue or a human error issue someone will get charged with neglect for public safety and 4 counts of manslaughter this is why I believe ardent and dreamworld are keeping very quiet about the incident until the investigation is complete but I do agree Deborah should have reached out to the families much earlier than she did -
If anything I think in the long term the whole area of gold rush country will be boarded up out of view the rest of the park will reopen with the obvious exception of buzzsaw while they figure out what to do with the ride. I speculate it either gets bulldozed and replaced or the whole area will possibly get re-themed but that could turn out to be too expensive however I can't imagine them reopening the same ride system ever again
-
From what I can gather you need 2 people at a minimum to operate the attraction safely I have never seen less than 2 working that ride in the years I've visited the park seccondly if there was a new employee on their first day they would NEVER let them near the ride without having an experienced ride supervisor there to train the staff member and observe for safety

Dreamworld Lego Store construction
Themeparkfan replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think it is sad they are removing the barn building its part of Dreamworld history however I understand why that building when first designed in the 80s was intended not only as a "exit through the gift shop " but as a coach stop and tourist information centre on your way into the Gold Coast as time progressed larger truck stops and service stations made it obsolete for that purpose and has become the token "exit through the gift shop" so I think it's great they are finding a better purpose for it shame they could not retain the external facade though -
What do you think is the best dark ride in Australia?
Themeparkfan replied to Bailz's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Looney toons river ride when it was new was a fantastic dark ride and so was Bermuda and gremlins such a shame they have all been removed and replaced with tacky badly themed "thrill rides" with the exception of Scooby Doo -
Yes it does love but I'm not perfect with typing and I'm not going to apologise for it LOL

Having the steam trains in Dreamworld just brings back the magicial atmosphere the park used to have hearing the whistle in the distance the smell of the oil fired engine waiting at the crossing as the train hissed by with steam wafting out from under the wheels lol

Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction
Themeparkfan replied to Hypermarket Hero's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I'd love to see them put another western themed flat ride or attraction in the area with WWF (again it's been years since I've been to movie world so don't kill me if there's no space for anything else my memory of the park layout is vague at best lol ) -
Tiger Island Refurbishment - Dreamworld 2016
Themeparkfan replied to Jay Jay The Jet Plane's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That does make more logical sense I do agree I think a change in theme will eventually happen it appears ardent is attempting to make the themed areas flow better instead of random placement of attractions like in the past -
I think SeaWorld needs a complete overhaul they have removed most of the draw cards they had as far as theme park attractions go that made it interesting for thrill seekers Bermuda corkscrew pirate ship cable car ect I think they need to gut out the water park there's 2 very large water parks already in the area why bother really TBH put in at least 2 or 3 new nautical themed thrill flat rides and they need a decent coaster with inversions possibly relocate a few other attractions to make space and the overall theme flow better in the park if they keep removing old attractions it will Just end up an aquarium and sea life zoo park with a monorail and a random coaster lol

I know I'm going to get hate from this but.....Since that whole area of the park is now v8 themed wouldn't you think if there's still space back there from the thunderbolt it would make sense to move the Moto coaster into that area of the park if there's enough room for it ?
