I visit the park every couple of years and I really enjoy the atmosphere in general. The staff are absolutely lovely, and the rides are memorable, especially the Toboggan run. Has the place actually shut down yet? As it seems odd to close down after big investments like the Tube Slide and the Ropes Course. If we're sharing memories, last year when I ventured down the park was practically dead, so we got a private ERT of sorts on the Diamond Python (Pinfair Z40). We probably racked up around 40 rides and the staff were having a great time, cracking jokes, saying we were nuts, etc. It was a great time!

Goliath - Adventure World’s new Intamin Gyro Swing

The FunTime Starflyer's aren't actually manufactured in Australia, I believe they just have an Australian agent @Tim Dasco, so a Funtime could still possibility. -
To Everyone: Let's Make Our Own Theme Park
Wil_i_am_not replied to themeparkaddict's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Keep in mind, not everyone has money to blow so easily on a project of this manner and lots of people (me included) are under the age of 18. There would be no chance in hell of me donating and no offence to Richard, but I'm pretty sure he's not a credited Theme Park Designer (let me know if you are @Richard, haha). If your really serious about this, starting small is key. A fun park similar to Magic Mountain at Merimbula would be a good place to look. The park itself has a Pinfari ZL40 and an array of small rides. Something like this will be your best bet and if you start small, you have a bigger chance of your park growing in size in the future. -
Interesting article, thanks for sharing! Does anyone know who manufactured that coaster at Leisureland Fair? I can't for the life of me figure it out. It looks similar to some of the Jet Coasters you'd see over in Japan.

Sounds great! I've ridden one of these at Wet n' Wild Sydney, however I thought it was a bit short. Maybe 2 waves would make it a bit more interesting?

Coaster Hipster's Trip Reports

Really enjoyed the TR @Coaster Hipster! Definitely a park I'd love to visit in the future. Taron has gotten some amazing reviews, really hope our Mack coaster in Movie World has some of the same elements.- 18 replies

The art looks sensational already. Any ideas what the ride may be? I was thinking a permanent scare maze, but I'm not 100%.

I did half a day at Magic Kingdom over in Florida. Fastpasses are everything. If you get there early in the morning (which is super important imo) try and hit up one area first (e.g. Frontierland) and rush straight there. You can get onto the main attractions first without needing fastpasses. You'll want to get fastpasses for rides such as HyperSpace Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsled, Indiana Jones and pretty much any major rides that interest you. Try and get onto the rides during this parades (and if you really want, the fireworks) as many people will be watching during this time. Although this is really up to you. As, Joz said, don't get fastpasses for large capacity attractions. I remember waiting for Haunted Mansion on a busy day for about 20 minutes, so it's really not worth it. All the best with your trip!

[Wishful Thinking] The Gold Rush Replacement
Wil_i_am_not replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I reckon something like Roar-O-Saurus would be excellent fit for a small woody. It's an excellent beginner coaster and apparently has some pretty wicked airtime as well, so it would satisfy us coaster enthusiast. -

Something like the lift hill on Goliath could be possible if you wanted a Woodie/RMC to weave through Buzzsaw, on a much smaller scale obviously. -

^ My thoughts exactly, was the same when I was trying to navigate my way around Magic Kingdom. What we're the lines like @jack.c? -
Do you prefer style or substance in your coaster track?
Wil_i_am_not replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
^ Can't beat the B&M roar, hopefully one day I can experience it in real life, however from videos it sounds absolutely iconic! My favourite style of track is the Intamin hyper coaster track, as seen on Intimidator 305 and Skyrush. -

A Mondial Windseeker fits those categories perfectly, its a "big swing" and seats 64 people. Sounds promising! -
Carnival Rides vs Theme Park Rides
Wil_i_am_not replied to zacsta_1997's topic in Theme Park Discussion
As I live in Sydney, there's not a whole lot of amusement parks, so as Brad said, travelling rides are pretty much my only option (other than Luna Park). Even though I visit travelling shows and carnivals pretty often, I think if I lived in Queensland for example, I would visit them less often than I currently do. I'm also relatively young, so I can handle Spin 'n' spews unlike some other people. With safety, I personally don't have a problem with either travelling or permanent variants. There's risk everywhere in life, you could be killed while walking down the street. And even though it can be a bit unnerving going on travelling rides, they're made by professional manufactures who have made thousands upon thousands of these rides. So, I reckon even though theres risk associated with both, they're safe enough in my books.- 9 replies

^ I also did the Wacky Worm to get the credit. I'm sure I looked like a big idiot riding it, but anything for a credit, right? As for your question @Noxegon, I spoke to Peter Short (co-owner of the Taipan) and they're still trying to get it onto shows from what I gathered, so not history just yet!

Jesus christ, had no idea! The red car (shown in the picture) was on the transfer track today and only had 2 cars instead of the usual 3, probably because of damage caused by a train smashing into the back of it. The ride was back open today and I rode again as I had complimentary coupons. Was much better this time and no head-banging, so it must of been the red car with all the problems.

I didn't get to pick my seat @XxMrYoshixX, however I'm sure you would be able to if you asked. Here's a photo (the rest turned out pretty shit so I only got one).

Got to have a chat to Emily Pickett (who owns TPA) and she gave me some information about their newly refurbished Super Turbo It has been refurbished by her son. A showman over in the US is currently refurbishing one as well, and used some plans given to them by the Picketts. Emily doesn't know when it will debut or what shows it will do, but it will definitely do the majors like Sydney and also regionals. The ride is currently sitting in TPA's Farm Also, quick review on the 2 new rides at this years show. The Beast: Wow, what a sensational ride! Great airtime and amazing force down the bottom. Definitely a great purchase for FJF. Turbo Coaster: This is Chant's newly refurbished roller coaster, that was bought as Python Loop. The ride has been given a new coat of paint, and it looks absolutely stunning. With motorbikes with dummy's placed all around the ride ( I'll get a pic tomorrow as I'm working most of the show). The experience, however doesn't at all compare. It was ridiculously rough and the only redeeming factor was the insane ejector airtime as I was sitting in the back seat. Also, I find it funny that they we're running 3 trains, when most of the rides on the Gold Coast only run 1 or 2, 😂😂.

Haha, I think they probably mean this one. It's been travelling around Australia for a while. Probably too lazy to search for an actual picture.
