  1. According to see post card with the Thunderbolt on it, when it was first built its loops were never red, did anyone else now that.
  2. What I said earlier in this page about construction being slow, will it be ready by the September holidays, I take it back.
  3. Is it just me or does it look like Tiger Islands refurbishment construction is going slow, it's scheduled to re-open sometime in September quite possibly for the September holidays but it just seems like it might take longer. It could be just me but, as I haven't been there in awhile.
  4. Dreamworld ride operating hours have changed once again. These are operating hours during week days. Wipeout: 10:00 to 5:00 was 10:30 to 3:30 Mick Doohan's Motocoaster: 10:00 to 3:30 was 10:30 to 3:30 Vintage Cars: 11:00 to 3:00 was Closed
  5. That's the bright side about Dreamworld closing the mine ride I could have the word eureka one of my favourite words if it didn't close it wouldn't be my favourite word because I wouldn't have a need to mention it. By the way Eureka is spelt EUREKA not EURKEA.
  6. Well Dreamworld are using eureka mountain for storage if it had asbestos in the mountain it be able to be used for storage and would require having portable fencing around it or at least with signs on the mountain warning you about asbestos so as there is none of that I think where safe to say that there is no asbestos in the mountain.
  7. A question if someone can answer it when was the last time the Wipeout didn't actually break down for a whole day.
  8. I can't explain or say anything about outlaw scenario being delayed but when I have been on rapid ride in the morning not long after its opened there has been no thunder or lightning effect inside the cave, but when I have been on it on the same day later in the day its been working. Did you ride on it in the morning or afternoon Theme Park Girl.
  9. I think we have just seen what DW are doing for Gold Rush Countries anniversary this year just adding new safety features to the River Rapids Ride (very exciting).
  10. I will say this much as the Wipeout is one of the only few of its kind in the world they probably will move heaven and earth to keep it running as pointed out early in the forum DW are only operating the Wipeout from 10:30am to 3:30pm weekdays when every other ride in ocean parade is operating full time (10:00am to 5:00pm). What Dreamworld are probably doing there is trying to shorten its operating hours to try and lengthen its life but the problem is a ride is like a car you can only keep it operating for so long and I couldn't see DW doing another major refurbishment on it when last one only has made it last 2yrs or so before they were stuck in the same boat again.
  11. Something what I will give DW is they really care about the safety of every guest in the park to try and prevent as many possible accidents or incidents as they possibly can.
  12. What are all the ladder like tracks there for are they just for maintenance or are they permanent ?
  13. I don't remember seeing the Thunderbolt at DW when I was taken in around about the year 2000 probably seeing I was 3 - 4yrs, but I heard the Thunderbolt was quite rough back in its day and that's why it closed down can anyone confirm that its correct.
  14. Something what I have been curious about is WWWs Wedgie water slide was its name given just for the hell of it or do people who ride it do really get a wedgie on it, what DW uses to promote it on there website is Get Wedged on the Wedgie.
  15. How do you even pass out on the HWSW I heard people say that the ride is quite mild compared to others, if someone was going to pass out on a ride I thought it would of been the TOT2 or Giant Drop.
  16. Well you shouldn't have to have something holding you in like a harness or nothing people should just be responsibly and smart enough to not do anything like that, even after there being signs everywhere, 1 in the queue, 1 one the loading platform at the starts of the lift hills and trying to surf that's why the gold coast have Surfers Paradise. They should have got the police there to give him a redone breath test see if he was drunk (who else would think to do something so stupid).
  17. Learn something new every day and talk about praise that's dead on 9 stories.
  18. Not sure if anyone's interested but here is a video of DWs old Thunderbolt roller coaster taken in 1999.
  19. Posted on DWs Facebook page how height does the claw propel guests at full swing. A. 10 stories B. 9 stories C. 8 stories D. 7 stories Anyone know the answer
  20. I must viewing say the pics of Tiger Island in its current state it is hard to believe what it really use to look like hopefully this is a refurbishment with no corners cut like how DW have done in the past. Obviously the height the TOT2 depends on the load the weight because it's changing constantly one load it reaches the T on Terror the next it may reach the F on Of so probably isn't 160km but it wouldn't just be about speed but about the load weight as well. How is the speed changed on the TOT2 anyway and how does it really work and run at such high speeds?
  21. I know the Big 9 thrill rides are open and DreamWorks experience is open but other then those are there any other rides open like the River Rapids, Shockwave or Log Ride etc.
