  1. ... I'm not saying your wrong, but how I choose to label you is irrelevant because you are totally wrong.
  2. Once the trees on white water mountain grow in, what ever gets built to replace terror canyon will be pretty well obscured, and its on the wrong side of the mountain to be a big eye catching attraction anyway. Plus wnw has enough eye catching stuff as it is. Personally would love to see a custom dark mammoth slide take that place on the back of the mountain, with as much of the slide hidden from view as possible, but thats just my opinion.
  3. I'd be surprised if there is a new attraction in the works for the mountain. If it was closed purely to be replaced then it would have closed after xmas.
  4. Wow... Thats all of 95cents more then one single day admission to MW or SW, and you get an extra two parks and 5 months unlimited. Good to see though, IMHO WVTPs are in a very good position to discount there way out of the economic turmoil, and I was wondering when we were going to see them roll some discounts out. This one is a cracker of a deal, and it'll be interesting to see its effects in the coming months, particually if we all get this $950 from Rudd.
  5. Perhaps, but I can't see the difference between the billboard outside the park and any me the other billboards anywhere else. Both are used to announce whats going on inside the park as much as it is about the park itself. The only difference is they shouldn't have to pay rent on the one out front (I'd assume not anyway)
  6. Its not on Earth, its in SPACE! In all truth, I was meant to write Splash Mountain, but it was 12:48am when I was writing. It should read: As it is, Splash Mountain as a stand alone experience makes no bloody sense. Personally, I had no idea there was a story going on until I read about it online years later. Still thought it was a good ride but didn't understand what was going on at all.
  7. If the average guest doesn't understand the story, then its too hard to follow. Off the top of my head every other attraction in the park tells the story without knowledge of the movie being required. As it is, Space Mountain as a stand alone experience makes no bloody sense. Personally, I had no idea there was a story going on until I read about it online years later. Still thought it was a good ride but didn't understand what was going on at all. More on topic: I wouldn't call it a thrill ride though, so I say Indy.
  8. 3 rocky debuts, Ray Reef opened mid January.
  9. Perhaps a bit late to give this piece of info, but if you can get down to WnW tomorrow instead of Monday I'd strongly suggest doing so. The crowd will be bigger on Sunday, but there is no dive in movie on Monday, and dive in movies give you the best chance to heaps of rides, as h20 zone and mammoth falls are open during the movie, and normally very quiet.
  10. Here's what really ticks me off about Q4U: When they were selling out like hotcakes, instead of capping the numbers to preserve the experience of other guests and making the same money on a better margin by raising the price, they just started selling more. What is the point of it being an upcharge if nearly everyone in the park has them? As far as I'm concerned, they should be $50 with a $10 charge for every extra person and strictly limited in number. If they sell out, raise the price again. Basicly it comes down to this: Its a premium service, and it should be treated as such to preserve the experience of those who don't buy them, or it should be free for everyone (Disney style). Charging entry, then charging extra to be able to have fair access to the rides is a bad for customer service. Also, it is line jumping no matter how you look at it, and MW should not get it. Even durning Xmas at MW queues don't get much beyond 40mins, and for the rest of the year rarely extend beyond 10mins, so its a redundent service at MW.
  11. Plus SW has Dockside tavern. That alone makes the park better then DW. The rest of the park is just showing off.
  12. It should be pointed out that the boards are often updated wrong on purpose, and always display the queue to be slightly longer then it really is so no one complains if it takes longer. Its a pretty common practice, Disney do it with their queue boards as well. It shouldn't be out by twenty mins though.
  13. People move the magnets and steal them. Thats why those specific signs are stupid. They also take a dedicated staff member to update then all day, and don't provide any other useful information (show times, ride closures etc.) The queue wait signs are a great idea, but the way its pulled off is a bit tacky.
  14. The cycle is pretty quick, I doubt the queue will be all that long most of the year even with one train. Remember that Corkscrew is walk on for about eleven months of the year.
  15. ^ Exactly, photos of the finishing touches from a distance don't make for compelling update. There will be a major update the day the ride opens.
  16. I might be reading this wrong, but the two main thoughts coming from this thread are: the park is a tacky assortment of flats and the park needs more flat rides. A flume ride IMHO is a great ride for Luna Park, face the drop towards the harbour and you'd be laughing. Having said that, a big permanent one out the back would much better
  17. Lo-q is bad for guest experience, however, it is a new way to make extra money. Thats it, don't try to sell it as a way to improve the park because it isn't. 18. ^ Looking forward to seeing footage online since I sadly have none. Suffice to see that the ride is still going pretty quick by the end; the second launch looks to kick up quite a bit of speed. From the looks of things, the missteps of MDMC have yeilded a few good lessions, and they've been applied here. Apart from the 2 rides being a similar concept, there isn't much comparison between the them. Pretty much everything, from the landscaping to the restraints to the speed of the ride has been improved this time around. Anyway, as promised, a new update! Click the link below then "Previous" to see all 9 photos in the update. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...Jet_Rescue.html - Enjoy!
  19. Love the Golf Cart Hummer, I want one! Really starting to look forward to this, the more and more I'm seeing the better its looking, bring on Boxing Day!
  20. Expect an update in the next couple of days. Without having any photos for now, I can tell you that the trains have been launched around the track, and everything is progressing well despite the rain.
  21. I think they're going to have to be expensive. If they sell them too cheap so that everyone has them then they won't be all that effective and just piss everyone off. DW doesn't have the capacity for many people to use the system the without it having a major negative affect on other guest, so IMHO they should go nuts making it as expensive as they can get away with while keeping the numbers very low. That way it impacts less on people who don't buy it, and is a better perk to those that do. I think they're going to have to be expensive. 22. New up charge attraction that if you don't go on doesn't effect your day in the slightest: Bad! Step in the wrong direction! Boycott Dreamworld! Offering an upcharge service that screws anyone not using it: Step in the right direction! It's official, I no longer understand the way people on this site think. This will make most people in the park wait longer to get on rides, or be forced to spend money to avoid the increased wait, and its being welcomed? If this line jumping service applies to GD or Cyclone then I pity the poor people stuck in the regular line.
  23. You're the thread starter, you do it.
