  1. I am no expert but I am sure that sound effects would be a distinct possibility.Someone like Joz or Rappa would be able to answer this definitively i am sure. Definitely strobe lighting to simulate lightning effects would be one thing to expect. Looking forward to this next February!! Does anyone know if the movements yet of this ride? Any updates on where we are at- has it started to go vertical?
  2. Jamberoo have confirmed that The Perfect Storm will have a mixture of closed and open Tornadoes on the ride and that enclosed theming will be utilised. Whilst they did not say that the large end Tornado would be enclosed, it is a fair bet that this would be a prime candidate for the special effects to differentiate it from the nearby Funnel Web. This is certainly good news and I am feeling a little better upon hearing it. The Perfect Storm needs this to have a point of difference and ride experience from The Funnel Web. One thing is certainly for sure, once The Perfect Storm is built, both it and The Funnel Web will be a very imposing sight when viewed from the road.
  3. Here is an interesting little Youtube clip with some very neat facts and statistics about the theme park industry. Enjoy!!
  4. Here you go @Jessicajealousy. This should interest you! https://youtu.be/XIOjwuYB5oA
  5. Yep that was the point I was making. Looking forward to further developments.
  6. Excellent- thanks for the info Theme Tendo!! This a great addition to this small park. I have never visited but it is certainly now on my radar to do so - it is definitely a family friendly park and my 2 young children will love it!! What is interesting is that the original Facebook post stated "few new attractions coming" It certainly looks like that there could be more announcements coming our way soon regarding new attractions.
  7. It will certainly be a popular addition to the park- of that there is no doubt. I agree wholeheartedly that the Behemoth bowl ending would have been a far better addition and would have rounded out the park significantly. However, if the plans include for all the Tornado's to be enclosed and include special effects, then I feel that this would certainly be enough to set this ride apart from the Funnel Web. Fingers crossed that this occurs! Its still good to see expansion happening and I will certainly be looking forward to riding this when I visit in February of next year. Looking at this new installation that is set to be installed at Funfields park in Victoria, I would certainly like to see a similar attraction come to Jamberoo, if only for the diversification of the presented rides.
  8. Ah!! Thanks for that Spotty. The ride was old when Aussie World bought it and I was under the illusion it was a Schwarzkopf for some reason. Cheers for clearing that up!
  9. Great find Pin142, thanks for the info. Well at least we now know the reason for the Octopus removal. As has been stated, this could have been a very nasty incident indeed and it was very lucky that it occurred at that time in the ride cycle. The Octopus was a venerable ride purchased from LPS, as stated in the article, in 2002. This ride dates backto the late 1970's and was a feature of the revamped park when it re-opened inthe 1980's incarnation. I believe that the ride manufacturer was a Schwarzkopf. The article also implies that the Octopus has been replaced, and given that there has been shipping containers seen onsite, we can expect an official announcement soon. I can certainly understand why Aussie World would want to keep this fairly quiet but their reaction and subsequent positive actions regarding this issue are to be commended.
  10. Not a big fan of this announcement to be honest. Its too gimmicky for mine, and I am a little cynical regarding the up charge element. Of course we wil have to wait and see, but soemhow I dont think that this will be a great success. My opinion, of course.
  11. Totally concur-It would be an absolute shame if it was to go if this report is true. Aussie World sure are very tight lipped about this.Given its rarity in the world, the uniqueness of the ride and its historical importance, surely there must be someway to keep it operating. LPS Wild Mouse unit is heritage listed and as such, they must maintain this ride to an accepted operating standard. If true, it must be something that is SEVERELY wrong for them to be contemplating removing it.Fingers crossed , hopefully we see the situation improves and Wild Mouse continues to operate, thrilling new generations to come. Aussie World is ripe for a new modern small to medium coaster. Plenty of possibilities out there.
  12. I did not think it was such a bad idea Tim. If Movieworld can have 6 major attractions themed to DC Superheroes in one guise or another , then adding another "dark theme" to Aussie world with only 3 other dark/spooky/horror themed attractions seems quite reasonable to me, more so as they are not interconnecting themes like DC. Looking forward to what you are going to produce for MI3 Mark. You are giving me more and more reason to bring the family and make the trip to Perth to visit your fine park. I absolutely love what you are doing in this space, your positiveness and your passion for the industry shines through. We need more people like you in Australia- more fan like than accountant driven. My 10 and 8 year old children are desperate to visit your park. It wont be next year ( There is a little jaunt to Florida planned then) but I can guarantee that 2018 will be the year. MI3 should be done and dusted ready for us to ride by then!
  13. Excellent news, thanks Wycen!! Obviously the shipping containers contain the ride to replace the Octopus which was removed earlier this year. This is the first that I have heard that they are looking at TWO attractions this year though. If Aussie World keeps on adding one or two new attractions like this every 18 months or so then it is going to be a very attractive option to visit for families. In my mind, Aussie World is just one major attraction away from stepping into a far bigger market than they currently place themselves in.IMHO. both Aussie World and Adventure World in Perth are the nation's number one parks to watch for growth in the future. Did your source mention anything about the type of attraction they are planning at all? Aussie World are a bit tight lipped at the moment, as you can imagine.

Look for an official announcement soon. These school holidays there is also a Ice Skating rink to tie in with the current Ice Age movie release. 2 good reasons to visit LPS with the family these school holidays.
  15. Do we have a reasonable idea on where this new coaster will be located in Movieworld? I love the idea of a Mack Spinning or launched coaster but would lean slightly more in the favour of an Intamin Mega-lite coaster.
  16. Thanks jjuttp. I am going over there in September of next year and was hoping it was going to be an option!! Not to worry there is plenty of other things to visit in Orlando and Florida!!
  17. Its a massive shame. For their size it actually looked like a decent coaster. I imagine it would be rough- Pinfari's are notorious for this- but for its footprint it seems to deliver a decent ride experience. This is a good POV showcasing the ride and that also some off-ride footage. A ride like this would be extremely welcome in some of our smaller parks- both Luna Park's and Aussie World being prime candidates. Hopefully the ensuing investigation is thorough and quickly finds the problem. Fingers crossed the accident was not borne from neglect on maintenance- the industry in the UK does not need a finding like that to have hang over its head, especially after the tragic accident on Smiler 12 months ago.
  18. This looks fantastic!! is there a projected opening date for this- I could not see it in the article?
  19. Yeah its a bad one. For those who didn't know, the Tsunami is a Pinfari travelling inverted coaster. There have only been 4 examples of this model ever sold, with only 3 still operating.. It has been at M&D's since 2004 and before that, travelled in South America. ( Thanks to the ever handy and reliable RCDB!) Hopefully no one is seriously injured. At first glance, it appears that something significant has failed- especially for the train to leave the track in that manner. That picture of the wheels sitting on the pavement by themselves is absolutely chilling!
  20. There is one at Aussie World. Its called the Ballroom Blitz.
  21. Interesting. I do believe that they have had ice skating set up in the Big Top before, but this was quite a few years ago.. Its a great idea though. I could see that becoming a regular winter attraction. Can you get some pics of the new Tango train lit up?
  22. As I have reported before guys, the legal option to complain against Luna Park has now been removed thanks to the Luna Park Site Amendment Act of 2005. As long as they act in the parameters of the site action plan then they are protected by this state government legislation. Check it out- its an interesting read. 23. I managed to duck into LPS today for a quick look around and to see the progress of the new ride. I can now confirm that they have replace The Tango Train with........ANOTHER Tango Train!! Apologies for the quality, they are off my phone and the pics were taken into the sun, plus LPS was not open today so this was the closest I could get! From what I could tell, and given that we already know that the ride is from an Italian manufacturer, it looks remarkably similar to this unit from SBF rides. It certainly is a good looking unit but I certainly cannot help but feel a little short changed as I think we were all expecting a new ride. However, the ride is certainly a permanent fixture and would explain why the area needed no preparation. I also managed to get some pics of the green area above the carpark entrance which I thnk would make an excellent area for LPS kids rides all located in one place. This then would allow a greater use of Maloney's Corner for larger thrill and family rides and allowing greater flexibility with its use. A simple pram friendly ramp from the below Midway could see this part of the park far better utilised. And finally to complete my small update there is unfortunately nothing going on with the former Flying Saucer site as yet......
