  1. No. You have fueled the fire of the Eurofighter rumour. It could also be a Gerstlauer Bob sled coaster. As I have said NOTHING has been confirmed as being absolute yet.
  2. It's still rumour and unsubstantiated. Sorry. That's the ultimate truth at this stage.
  3. Exactly. There is nothing definitive at this stage to say that the ride is a Gerstlauer Eurofighter. It COULD be ( and I for one would not be unhappy if it was) but NOTHING has been confirmed at this stage. The Eurofighter rumour is nothing but wild speculative guesses being trotted out as an absolute truth, at this stage.
  4. But even so they should at least follow common courtesy and have what rides and attractions are closed for the day at the front gates. This then at least informs the public before they enter the park that a ride is down for unscheduled maintenance, regardless of whether there has been time for the website to be updated.
  5. Absolutely spot on AlexB. I think you have just echoed what 99% of people on this board think. Thankyou and brilliant stuff-especially the last comment. I am sorry??? Maybe you could correct me if I am wrong but I am fairly certain that the manufacturer of the new coaster has NOT been confirmed. This appears to be more of your musings and wild fantasies that you seem to want to pass off to everyone as reality. However, I could not help but laugh at the irony of this little scenario if the manufacturer of said ride actually turned out to be MACK.......oh my god would I chuckle!!! Sorry for diverting the thread somewhat but AlexB's comments had to be applauded! Enjoy your trip to the Gold Coast MamaaCorydoras!! Hope you have a great time!!
  6. Linus well done!! I was going to correct this but I really couldn't be bothered!! 100% approve and agree with everything in your post!!
  7. And one that killed your arguments dead in the water... Again. But at least your learning to be humble.
  8. But GoGoBoy isn't he ALWAYS shooting from the hip with wild, speculative and generally inaccurate comments that he tries to pass off as being true?? Unfortunately nothing has changed with the moniker/name alteration.......
  9. Hopefully there will be something different to set this ride apart from the already existing rides- fingers crossed that the layout will be tweaked slightly enough to differentiate itself and that the special effects and dark ride section live up to the brililance of its predecessor.
  10. I agree,if that is the final layout, then it is a little underwhelming. This has not been confirmed yet has it?? Hopefully there may be some surprises yet to be revealed!!
  11. As much as I love LPS, I think that Adventure World is a step above what you describe. LPS is not a theme park but rather a fun park. Adventure World is truly a different proposition to what LPS offers. They may not be as big as the Gold Coast parks (yet) but if they get a new coaster then this will definitely put them on the map. I treat both Adventure World and Aussie World in the same bracket- smallish parks that are expanding slowly. Its great to see , as you have noted, investment in the theme park industry, other than on the GC parks. Australia needs more of this!! More power to them and I cannot wait to see the final product!!
  12. Nah I meant that the theatre would get an overhaul from a 3d to a full blown 4d experience...and yes similar to the Movieworld attraction. I reckon it would make sense. It could be a good move!
  13. I still maintain that it could be a re-theme and renew of their 3D cinema to a 4D experience..with the said film being the theme being the premise for the "Wild" concept.....perhaps a River cruise film for a 4D attraction?
  14. At least do something with it!! <_</> When the Maverick show was in existence, at least it had a purpose and a daily use. Now it is severely underutilised and a expensive waste of space. Its akin to having Porsche in your garage but never ever driving it.... A new daily show to the standard of what Maverick used to deliver would be an excellent addition and is sorely lacking from Movieworld's mix of attractions at the moment.
  15. Yeah I am aware that it was the prototype. It was actually a travelling coaster on the German circuit before it wound up at Camelot. I was more referring to its a shame that we wont be seeing a Maurer spinner here anytime soon than lamenting the loss specifically of Whirlwind.....still with some rehab it could have been a decent ride here. Lets hope whatever Adventure World is getting will be something worth getting excited about.
  16. We did. But the sad thing is that Dreamworld would have to have noticed the negative impact on the guest experience when MW/SW initiated these similar cost cutting measures and YET they are still dumb enough to try the same unpopular actions in their own park. More fool them. This is really bad management and proves that Dreamworld are more interested in cost cutting exercise than on being customer focused.....its a rediculous strategy that will garner a groundswell of negative reactions. Look at what the impact was on SW/MW before they quietly decided to revert back to normal operations.
  17. Good find Alex1!! RCDB are not infallible but when they post something on their website it is usually good information!! I think we can safely say that the rumour of Whirlwind coming to Australia appears dead!! Tis a shame really. I have not given up hope that a Maurer Sohne spinner will make its way to one of our parks in the near future!!
  18. Just to bring an update to this thread. On LPM Facebook's page, they were asked directly whether or not Whirlwind has been bought from Camelot and is coming to LPM. This was their reply.... " There has been some info on a theme park forum that says that the Maurer Sohne Spinning coaster Whirlwind from defunct UK themepark Camelot has been sold to an Australian park. I am wondering if it is Luna Park Melbourne?? Saturday at 7:21pm via mobile · Like [*] Luna Park Melbourne Sorry, dont know anything about that. But if we have big news about a new ride, we wouldnt be able to keep it a secret! Saturday at 7:49pm · Unlike · 1 [*] John Graham Fair enough!! So do you have concrete plans to put in a new coaster where Metropolis and Crazy Coaster recently was?? Saturday at 8:21pm via mobile · Like [*] John Graham But of course... I don't expect you to give a straight answer ..... Hehe!! Saturday at 9:24pm via mobile · Like [*] Luna Park Melbourne We have lots of plans for the Park over the next few years, unfortunately, nothing we can release just yet! We want to make sure everything is 100% locked in before telling our lunie fans! We will have an attraction popping up in that space in the next few weeks though " So no Whirlwind coming to LPM at all. It looks like temporary attractions will be filling in the footprint for the next couple of years. There are plans but they have yet to be realised. So if the rumour of Whirlwind being bought by an Australian park is true, and LPM and now Adventure World are being ruled out of contention, what parks does that leave us?? Aussie World?? Good possibility and would be a good fit in this great little park. LPS? Perhaps ..it would be a great and much needed addition but the resident issue and the fact that they have not added a single new permanent ride in 8 years is an indication to the negative. I think we can put to bed any claim of an Australian park having bought Whirlwind......the most likely contenders are ruling themselves out. Shame because this ride would have enhanced any of our small parks greatly...... Hopefully the plans LPM have in mind include a new coaster at some point......
  19. Honestly I think in some cases we need MACK to come in and restore the HUMOUR of the site........... Or is that pushing things to far??
  20. Thanks for the info Jacob. I am sorry but I agree with Reanimated here. If you present info as important as that , then of course the natural reaction of posters on this forum is going to be to ask you the source. We are not putting you into the category of RWC-heaven forfend anyone be likened to that idiot!!, but as has been stated before, if you are going to put yourself out there as the progenitor of said information, then you must be prepared to back it up with something solid. If you had stated that the info you had was from an unsubtantiated source ( which it is) and is to be treated as a rumour ( which at the moment it is) rather than quoting it as being certain to happen, then I am sure we would have all accepted that as being quite reasonable. Staff members are always quoting rumours and tidbits of info from every park and its hard to work out what is real and what is wishful thinking. If this particular rumour turns out to be true, then I will be the first to congratulate you on bringing forward the scoop first!! But in no way let this detract you from posting and getting involved in the forums- this type of rumour and speculation is what this board thrives on and keeps the forums alive!! Thanks for that!!
  21. Amen to that brother!!! The forums had put up with his crap for long enough!!! Lets get back to the business of discussing theme parks and put that twat in the past!! So......new coaster for Adventure World...excited much? I know I am keen to see what it will eventually be!! A Eurofighter would be a good fit for Adventure World...and correct me if I am wrong, that would be in the ballpark figure. I am not expecting an earthshattering announcement but one of them would fit the bill nicely!
