DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion

+1 The budget for that installation would have to be been a set price, with the contractor taking the gamble on the weather. The crane cost would have probably blown away any profits had they kept it an extra day. Overtime would have been considerably cheaper. It probably formed part of the contract for the entire installation, but each part needs to make money of course. -

I don't think it's the actual sign, just a way finder sign. -
That appears to have existed for a while.

The bachelor, worth noting? Her ride on AA is on twitter, no sign of Rivals though. -

There's what, about 20-26 fins over two rows on SE for the final brakes, which wash I'd guess about 40/50kmhr? Making a lot of assumptions (same braking effort per fin essentially), the three Rivals fins would only wash a small amount (10kmhr?) in addition to the uphill run. -
I'm thinking it's a matter of accounting for margin of error. Even with the computer models, you couldn't predict it perfectly. Car makers build trial cars before proceeding to full production, to make sure that you can actually assemble a car based on the plans. We will never know what it was like before the trims.

Movie World - general state of things

My first visit since before Doomsday Destroyer started construction. SE: Pipes where working this morning, but no smoke. Seemed to be a few lights out in the fake station area. Announcements much less irrating in the waiting area. AA: I like the new video screens, audio all working except on the train. Bloody rough now, never had sore shoulders previously with the new seats. Smoke coming out of the car in the courtyard. GL: Audio working. Scooby: It misses it's theming dramatically, so dark everywhere. Got 7 rides in 1hr 20min this morning, at one stage was the only person waiting for SE for about a minute. DCRH: Station looks very simple but tidy from the outside. -

I think most (myself included) will be too busy going "holy s**t this is high up" etc to be too worried about how the sign looks from the back. -

I'm not one for water rides. Only been on it once. I was going off the sync issues reported on here post the refurb of WWF. Not arguing it's not a great idea, just don't think it will last. Stick with what you do best, I'd rather see that money spent on something they maintain. -

I was working more on outdoor vs indoor. There has been many complaints about the audio issues on Wild West too. -

Like the Burj Khalifa, top is 829m, but highest habitable level is only 584m. They still claim 829m as it's height -

I'd pay $20 each for one single fast track in the first few months.

I think the chain speed too. By adjusting the initial speed (chain) you can also tune the speed of the coaster. -

With the way the track pieces interlock, and wide open clearance around the track it doesn't look necessary to do a pull through. -

But if the face is not ready, then it is cheaper to remove and return. They'd be paying for the crane everyday it's on site, working or not, as it could be elsewhere making its owner money. There is a reason Uplift Cranes owns and operates 3 top fuel dragsters in Australia plus one in the USA. -

As @themagiciansaid. Cheaper to bring the crane back in a couple of weeks time, or use a helicopter or rigging to get it up.
