  1. My thought was have the turntable just around the first bend. Then take @djrappa idea, with themeing on both sides of the track being identical and fixed to the turntable, with perhaps a fog screen (like in Justice League) front and rear to disguise the movement. That way the wild mouse and final drop are still done forwards.
  2. The large one just after the station was operating a week ago.
  3. Last Saturday, the way they where letting people on Jet Rescue the second they queued, after just having gotten off the ride, I'd say unlimited. Some trains went out with 8 fast pass riders on board.
  4. The "sand" looks like oil soak, there is possibly a hydraulic line in there that has been disconnected and fluid has dropped out.
  5. I've not ridden Abyss (but have ridden Saw at Thorpe Park). Superman is great, it's just my inner motorcycle rider that rates Jet Rescue that little bit higher.
  6. In my opinion Jet Rescue is the best on the coast. Fast, with that out of control feeling, takes effort to ride properly (looking ahead, leaning into the corners). Worth queuing for an hour. I don't think I'd wait that long for any of the others on the coast personally.
  7. I'm waiting for the live rolling coverage of a car with a flat tyre on a suburban back street
  8. "Western adventure" perhaps? Mind you Sea World has the old time photo both between the monorail mid station, medieval castle and the outdoor penguins, so you chuck a photo booth anywhere really.
  9. We left at about 4.45pm today, they where offering free tickets to people already in the park.
  10. Heard an ad on the radio this morning for dreamworld.
  11. DV is obviously not deterring them, it's just feeding their attention seeking.
  12. Most likely to go to Helensvale & Harbour Town to the north, Airport & Robina to the south. The limitation is the shared core network, can only push so many trams through the core. Airport <-> Helensvale will consume the most trams, with the remainder on the other route. A separate spur makes timetabling, rostering and ease of use much more difficult, as well as consuming trams needed for the much higher demand destinations. How many would catch a bus to Seaworld vs Robina, Helensvale, Airport & Harbour Town?
  13. On the Gold Coast, they are seen as moving targets and as such are worth bonus points when you hit them
  14. Plus (adjusting for daylight savings), sunset in Sydney is 23 minutes later than Brisbane today, for instance. This being of course because Sydney sits further west.
  15. My traffic light comment is more about all the traffic lights on the system, even with the priority setup in place, these do impact headway. And as Gazza pointed out, the Harbour Town branch will consume a lot of the services. The crossovers and stub line for the branch are being built as part of stage 2.
  16. @Jamberoo Fan not quite that simple, as the light rail interacts with traffic lights etc, that has to be factored into the headway. Plus ease of use for passengers to not get the wrong service. I'm struggling to see why a dedicated bus or three can't handle this job as a shuttle? Rail is intended to do the "heavy lifting" with buses etc feeding to and from interchanges. The time lost to transferring to a bus should be less than waiting for the one every 25 minute light rail service. And yes, that's a train nut telling you to catch a bus
  17. All that is needed is a sign explaining "undergoing reno but open to ride", as was mentioned previously. The general public would be more upset if it was closed at this time of year than running in its current state,if that sign was in place.
  18. Having just been given 12 month passes, I'm disappointed my son who is finally ready for the ride will miss out on the old theme, but like me at least he'll get to enjoy the mechanical side of the rides.
  19. As a motor bike rider myself, it looses too much pace. Jet rescue in having the second launch solves the problem. MDMC with some power input later into the ride would be much better.
  20. Yep, the bigger rides will be perceived to be more dangerous, so the general public will expect them to take longer to check. If you open the "dangerous" rides first, it makes the image management more difficult.
  21. Entry near green lantern, agreed. Entry near Arkham (not likely), maybe.
  22. Can someone who knows DC better than me can explain that hint?
